Saab's parent company, General Motors, responded to the Swedish marque's lack of a SUV offering by introducing the 2005 9-7X. The 2007 9-7X continues to be based on the Chevy TrailBlazer, resulting in a highly desirable vehicle with Saab design flair and rugged American dependability.Prices start at $38,990 for the six-cylinder version of the 9-7X. This inline six generates 290 horsepower and 277 ft-lbs of torque. The 5.3L V8 engine increases power and torque to 303 horsepower and 330 ft-lbs respectively. It also features "displacement on demand," which shuts off four cylinders under constant cruising conditions to increase fuel economy. Since every 9-7X comes equipped with a receiver hitch, the V8 is likely the smartest choice. GM says this vehicle is rated for towing up to 6,500 pounds. Both engines are backed with a four-speed automatic transmission. The Saab stylists did a good job integrating the traditional "three-port grille" onto the 9-7X. Brand specific 18-inch wheels help to increase the family resemblance, and the "disappearing" D pillar (oft seen on Saab wagons) furthers Saab's unique styling cues.Inside, the most distinctive characteristic is center-mounted ignition, which is done to help prevent knee injuries in the event of an accident. Saab has been emphasizing the safety of their vehicles for decades, and this is just one small touch. The seats are incredibly comfortable, with an eight-way power adjuster and nice lumbar support. With the split rear seat up there is 39.8 cubic feet of storage in back. Fold the seat down and you can pack 80.1 cubic feet of cargo into the hold.Driving the 9-7X is a mostly familiar experience for Chevy truck owners. The suspension and steering have been tuned to give the 9-7X more of a European ride. And while, you won't mistake the ride for a Saab sedan, it is quite competitive with rivals in this price class. All wheel drive is standard, as is electronic stability control turn, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. The Saab 9-7X comes loaded with most all of the luxury items you'd want as standard equipment, too. A small sample of these items include a moonroof, power heated mirrors, front fog lamps, heated leather seats, dual zone automatic climate control, a six-disc CD changer, an electrochromic rearview mirror, and a Bose audio system with XM satellite radio. The V8 is equipped with xenon headlights with washers and adjustable pedals. The additional luxury items found on the V8 can be added to the I6 for $800. Both models can be equipped with a rear seat DVD entertainment system, or an Altitude Edition, which includes the aforementioned entertainment system, unique wheels, assist steps, and special Carbon Fiber Gray Metallic paint.
This car uses GM auto parts and its not Swedish parts. So very easy to fine parts.. call me if you have any question.. please don't waste my time or yours.

Koenigsegg plans a ‘CO2 neutral’ hybrid supercar
Fri, Feb 1 2019Fresh from receiving a 150 million-euro infusion from National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the Chinese-backed company that bought up Saab's assets out of bankruptcy, supercar maker Koenigsegg has signaled just what it plans to do under the new joint venture. Christian von Koenigsegg gave an interview to Top Gear in which he said he wants to develop an all-new supercar to sit below ultra-exclusive models like the Agera RS and Regera, priced at around ˆ1 million (about $1.15 million) to grow sales from 20 a year into the hundreds, because "our brand has outgrown our production volumes by quite a big margin." And it will feature a novel, "completely CO2 neutral" hybrid powrtrain using the "freevalve" camless combustion engine technology the company has been developing in concert with battery-electric power. "Given the freevalve technology, we can actually cold-start the car on pure alcohol, down to -30 degrees Celsius, so there's no need for any fossil fuel mix then," he told Top Gear. "The idea is to prove to the world that even a combustion engine can be completely CO2 neutral." Von Koenigsegg previously hinted at the setup after talking about how his engineers were responding to Tesla's claims that its forthcoming next-generation Roadster would be capable of a 1.9-second 0-60 mph time. He further hints that the new hybridized supercar will look unmistakably like a Keonigsegg but be in a different segment altogether from either the Agera RS or plug-in hybrid Regera. Consider us very much intrigued and eager to hear more. Meanwhile, Koenigsegg has said it plans to reveal the successor to the Agera RS next month at the Geneva Motor Show based on a refined version of the same supercharged V8 combustion engine. The new joint venture with NEVS, meanwhile, sees that company take a 65 percent ownership stake, with Koenigsegg holding the rest and contributing its trove of intellectual property, technology licenses and product design. NEVS also gets a 20 percent stake in Koenigsegg itself. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Spyker and Youngman sign deal, plan to build D8 SUV and Phoenix-based range
Mon, 27 Aug 2012It appears Spyker is strengthen its ties and carmaking ability with Chinese carmaker Youngman. This comes in the wake of the brand's latest dealings with a $3 billion lawsuit against General Motors regarding the demise of Saab.
Youngman is reportedly investing €10,000,000 ($12.5M USD) for a 29.9-percent stake in the company. The shares are being sold for €0.05 (6.3 cents) each, representing a fully diluted share. Youngman has said it will not take on more than the 29.9-percent stake.
Additionally, Youngman will invest €25,000,000 ($31M) for the development of an all-new Spyker vehicle, called the D8 P2P, named for the Peking-to-Paris rally. The vehicle had been shown as a concept by Spyker previously, but things had been quiet since then. It appears Spyker will now build the uniquely styled D8 Concept shown above. The vehicle is to launch at the end of 2014 and carry a price of $250,000 per vehicle.
Future Classic: 1999-2002 Saab 9-3 Viggen
Mon, Jan 30 2023Given the company’s now-defunct status, you could argue that all Saabs are future classics. Even the final round of cars from the era of General Motors ownership deserve their place in history. Seriously, how hot was the last 9-5? Handsome design and quirky features were hallmarks of the Saab brand, and its cars felt every bit as premium as its primary European competitors. But while other luxury carmakers put great effort into full lineups of performance cars, Sweden only produced the odd sporty Saab every once in a while. One of our favorites was the 9-3 Viggen from the turn of the century, and itÂ’s a car that still makes us swoon today. Why is the Saab 9-3 Viggen a future classic? Saab's whole "born from jets" tagline never really made much sense, but at least the 9-3 Viggen's name was a nod to the company's aerospace roots. The Swedish word "Viggen" translates to "thunderbolt" in English, and this name was used on the Saab 37 Viggen aircraft that entered service in the early 1970s. MotorWeek | Retro Review: '99 Saab Viggen The 9-3 Viggen used a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four engine, most notably remembered for its eyebrow-raising 20 psi of boost pressure. Rated at 225 horsepower – which was later bumped up to 230 hp – and 252 pound-feet of torque, this engine was paired exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Stiffer suspension components, firmer dampers, stronger driveshafts, a heavy-duty clutch and a revised exhaust were also part of the package. The Viggen was relatively quick, with Saab quoting a 0-to-60-mph time of around 6.5 seconds. However, the 9-3 Viggen is largely remembered for things like its ridiculous turbo lag and torque steer – characteristics that kind of made this car hilarious to drive, even if they took away from overall sharpness and composure. What is the ideal example of the Saab 9-3 Viggen? Saab offered the 9-3 Viggen as a three-door hatchback, five-door hatchback and two-door convertible. And while this car is most commonly remembered in its launch shade, Lightning Blue, Saab offered the Viggen in black, gray, red, silver and yellow. You could even spec the interior with blue, orange or tan leather accents. Arguably the most iconic 9-3 Viggen spec is a Lightning Blue three-door hatch, but the other colors are far more rare. WeÂ’ve got a major soft spot for a Monte Carlo Yellow five-door, but really, you canÂ’t go wrong.
