This is a 2001 Saab 9-5 wagon. It has approximately 133,000 miles on it. I am the second owner of the car. The original owner was an elderly couple. They had it serviced at the dealer since it was new and kept service records. Records include routine oil changes (especially important for this particular engine), service based on factory recommendations, etc... It also had a brand new turbocharger installed less than 20,000 miles ago, at the dealership. That was several thousand dollars, and I have the receipt. They traded it in this past winter for a Cadillac, and I bought the car from the salesman who originally sold the car...he still works the dealer. I have had it since February. It has been my daily driver since I got it. The only reason I am selling it now is that at the end of July, a dealership made me an offer for a new car that I just couldn't refuse. Otherwise, I'd have kept it.
The car runs and drives very well. It shows that it has been well kept. There are no check engine lights on. The interior is extremely clean, the leather is in great shape for its' age. The only sign of wear is fading on the drivers side bolster where you slide in. But there are no rips or tears at all in the leather. Dash is outstanding.
It runs and drives great, but please understand it is 12, nearly 13, years old. The a/c does not work. I'm not sure why. It has a charge in it, I checked. I found that a fuse under the hood had been pulled. I put a new fuse in. The a/c then worked for 5 minutes, then stopped. The fuse didn't blow, but I'm not sure what the problem is. Relay perhaps? There must be something wrong with the factory alarm, because when you start the car, the display says "Service alarm", but I just press the "clear" button and turn the warning off. I'm guessing the battery is dead. One of the headlight wipers is disconnected, I presume it doesn't work, but never cared to check.
The car has the 2.3L engine, and it has been checked/cleaned for the common sludge issues these engines have (I have that receipt). Heated seats, both front and rear. Sunroof, power everything. I have the original window sticker. It is inspected through March 2014.
Please no trades, I have enough cars. I will answer any questions you have. I reserve to end the auction early, as the car is for sale locally.

Last 900 Saabs heading to auction
Fri, 22 Jun 2012If you've been wanting to get your hands on one last new Saab but missed out on the great Saab sell-off when Saab Cars North America declared bankruptcy, well, your ship has now come in.
Actually, it came in last year - but hundreds of new Saabs got waylaid at ports in California and New Jersey because of the bankruptcy, according to SaabWorld.net. Those cars are now slated for auction, some 900 of them, which will be available for dealers, exporters and rental car companies to bid on beginning next week. Eventually, 300 of these cars should make their way to Saab dealers, where they're expected to be sold off at 30- to 50-percent discounts. The other 600 will either be exported or used as rentals, according to the report, so "the price of Saabs will not be severely depressed."
Besides the new cars, some 67 company cars, including some interesting stuff like a 1960 Saab Quantum IV and a 1970 Sonnett III, will also be auctioned off, according to the report. Of the new cars, just over half are 9-5 models, some 400 are 9-3 sedans, another 60 are 9-3 wagons, and about a dozen are convertibles. According to the report, 28 are actually 9-4X crossovers, which is more than 10 percent of Saab's total 2011 sales for that model.
Man in a convertible drives in the rain with a Christmas tree
Mon, Dec 7 2015A man in a convertible had his holiday cheer extinguished thanks to England's infamous weather. Nicholas Dodd saw this sad, soaked through couple while driving down the A38 near Plymouth, Devon, according to the Daily Mirror. Dodd told the publication he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a Saab, top down, in a pouring rain storm. That's not all. The top was down because of the large Christmas tree wedged in the back seat. "We couldn't believe what we were seeing," Dodd said. "It was crazy - especially with the weather - but I guess he just wanted to get his Christmas tree home anyway he could." The Saab driver's female passenger also looks less than pleased by the sudden squall. "His missus was beside him but they didn't seem to find it as funny as we did," Dodd said. "He was just keeping his head down in a vain attempt to avoid the rain but was getting a real soaking." Dodd posted the video to Facebook, where commenters also had a good laugh at the soaking wet Saab owners. Weird Car News Saab Videos christmas rain
Boeing, Saab introduce entry for T-X trainer program
Thu, Sep 15 2016This post is appearing on Autoblog Military, Autoblog's sub-site dedicated to the vehicles, aircraft, and ships of the world's armed forces. Boeing and Saab revealed their entry for the US military's T-X trainer replacement program. The new jet, simply called T-X, is like the lovechild of a F/A-18 Hornet and an F-16 Falcon, and as Boeing tells it, will provide "performance, affordability, and maintainability advantages" over the competition. "Our T-X is real, ready and the right choice for training pilots for generations to come," Leanne Caret, Boeing Defense, Space, and Security's President and CEO said in an official statement. And Caret isn't not kidding about the Boeing T-X being both real and ready – Boeing is so confident that it built two examples before the official unveiling on Tuesday. The first jet, which Defense News reports will fly by the end of the year, debuted to media with the kind of pomp usually reserved for automotive debuts. Boeing/Saab will use the second jet – also featured on Tuesday – for structural proof testing. The needs of a training aircraft are quite different than those of a traditional fighter. The T-X features stadium-style seating, so the instructor riding in back has nearly as good a view as the student in front. Student evaluations should be easy, too, as the open software transmits data effortlessly between ground training systems and the jet itself. Functionally, Boeing claims the twin-tail layout provides more agility than a single-tail design – remember, the military's newest jets, the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II both use twin-tail layouts – while the Air Force can mount two weapon hard points on the jet's wings. According to Defense News, four manufacturers – Boeing/Saab, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin/KAI, and Raytheon/Leonardo/CAE – are vying for the contract to build 350 new trainers to replace the Air Force's fleet of aging T-38 Talons.
