Sunroof 2.0 Sport Rare Red Saab Turbo Loaded Sedan Four Door on 2040-cars
Elkhart, Indiana, United States
2003 Saab 9-3 Linear 2.0T Sport Edition Sport Red (rare color for this make/model) Clean Title 126,9xx miles Four Door; Automatic Transmission; Turbo Charged (Gas-saver) Gray Leather/Heated Seats Premium Sound system; CD Player/Radio with Ipod/Iphone hook up Premium Sport Edition Saab Alloy Wheels (17's) Great Tires Power windows/locks Power Driver's seat Traction Control Cruise Control White/Light Blue Xenon Headlights Fog Lights Dual Climate Control A/C Ice Cold Heat works great New Brakes Regularly Serviced Newer Battery Attention all car enthusiasts. This Saab is a rare find. This car is super clean, inside and out (the leather literally looks brand new), and has also been meticulously maintained, and stored only in a garage. This is the ultimate winter and summer car that has a ton of life left! These cars are known to go over $300,000 miles. We are getting rid of it because of our growing family (and the need for a larger vehicle which we have already purchased). The 2.0 liter turbo charged engine gives plenty of power (shifts nicely) with excellent gas mileage (over 30 MPG on the highway). Because of how clean this car is along with the classic sport body style, people don't believe this car is a 2003. 126,9xx miles (lot of highway miles). No signs of rust! We don't regret choosing this car over a BMW or Audi. And you won't either. Great trunk space! You won't find a better looking, more reliable (and practical) car for under $5,500. We are asking only $5,499 because this car has a few VERY minor issues (nothing major). The gas gauge does not work. We paid a certified mechanic to diagnose this issue (who said repairing this will cost a few hundred dollars) but we never fixed it because we fill up the gas tank each Monday regardless. The other very minor issue is that this car needs a new 02 sensor (or needs the current one cleaned). One more thing: separate from the car I am selling an extra set of 15 inch Saab alloy Wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires (lots of tread left) for the winter time. These tires are amazing on snow/ice! Asking $325.00 for the full set of wheels/tires. Serious buyers only please. Do not send me low ball offers. This is a great deal for a rare car that is in exceptional condition. ***You can email, call or text. This virtually new, very last Saab 9-3 could be yours
Mon, Oct 7 2019The date is October 7, 2019, and it is currently possible to buy a virtually new 2014 Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4. Spiking the car's rarity is the fact that this specific vehicle is said to be the last Saab to roll off the production line in Trollhattan, Sweden. Driven only 41 miles, chassis No. YTNFD4AZXE1100257 is a true piece of Swedish automotive history, and it's set for auction this month. We first got word of this car back in June 2019, and the time has finally come for this Saab to be sold. As previously reported, this vehicle is from the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) era. The seller, Bilweb Auctions, says it is the last Saab to come off the manufacturing line, and it was reportedly set aside for crash testing. The testing never occurred, and the sedan, one of only 420 built, survived. The seller says the mileage comes from running the car on the test track next to the old plant for photography and videography purposes. This 9-3 Aero uses a Ecotec 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 217 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It has immaculate Diamond Silver paint and matching silver turbine wheels. Inside, there is a two-tone interior with cream leather seats, a black dashboard, and black accents. According to Autocar, the proceeds of the auction will go to NEVS' Sustainable Mobility Scholarship at University West in Sweden. Bidding on the car opens soon, and interested parties can sign up to be alerted when the auction starts. Auto News Auctions Saab Sedan
NEVS mulling electric Saab 9-3 convertible, looking for engine partners, too
Wed, 14 Nov 2012Do you believe in reincarnation? Like how we hope that, maybe, all of our hard work as auto writers will result in an eventual return as a swarm of beautiful butterflies. If you are a Saab fan, the equivalent could be this bit of news: The 9-3 Convertible may rise again, as an electric vehicle.
Word comes from the Dutch version of Autoweek that Chinese entity National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has indicated that it will bring an electric version of the 9-3 Convertible to market in the next 18 months. The EV droptop would first debut in the Chinese market, but could expand, as could the lineup to other 9-3 variants, such as the sedan and SportCombi. A NEVS spokesperson has stated, "NEVS basically no doors holds." We're not sure if that's the spokesperson or the translation from the Dutch report, but you get the gist.
NEVS also indicated that conventionally powered versions of the 9-3 could be produced as well. The internal combustion engines could be the originally intended General Motors engines. Regardless of powerplant, we would be very eager to see Saab return, potentially as an EV to boot!
Why won't automakers slap on a turbo badge anymore?
Thu, Sep 10 2015Where have all the turbos gone? Not the actual pieces that go in the engine, mind you, those are everywhere these days as automakers downsize cylinder counts and boost efficiency and CO2 claims. But the turbo badges and fanfare are missing. Back when turbos were something to get excited about there was "turbo-driven," "turbonium," and "The Turbo Zone," among other silly lines. But now that basically every car is getting some sort of boost even on the lowliest trims, automakers are almost sliding in the turbos under the radar. Or if you look at some of the nomenclature, pretending they don't exist at all. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border. The latest automaker to hide that it has boosted the turbo presence is Porsche with the 2017 911 lineup. Even the standard Carrera models now get turbocharged flat-six engines, meaning the 911 Turbo models aren't quite as special as they once were. Porsche is in a sticky situation with this. The 911 Turbo, after all, signifies where the 911 family takes off from being a sports car and becomes the Ferrari fighter. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border, but now Porsche has crossed it and is trying to downplay the fact. There are a lot of exaggerations with displacement badges today, with claims the 2.0-liter turbo four in a Mercedes C Class equates to a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter six to make a C300. Volvo is pretty far up there, too, saying an XC90 T8 means V8 power, even though it's a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four with electric assist. I don't know why BMW can't just call the car a 330i Turbo, rather than inflating the numbers up to 340i. Saab tried all of this back in the '90s when it decided to turbocharge its entire lineup, from light pressure units all the way up to models actually called "Saab 9-3 HOT" (for high-output turbo). But then the brand deleted any external reference to the turbo under the hood and people wondered why they were buying a $42,000 four-cylinder convertible. And that didn't turn out well. Even though these turbo replacements often make more power than their naturally aspirated predecessors, they're very different engines. People knew something changed when they exchanged their leased 328i with a 3.0-liter six for a 328i with a 2.0-liter turbo four.
