Up for auction is my 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0T (The big T!) This is my 14th Saab. I started owning them when I was around 198and have absolutely loved every one I've had. My father was a GM man for years, but I eventually converted him and he ended up owning a pair of convertibles.
I purchased this car last year and immediately took it to Joseph Chermak Saab in Clarks Summit where it was completely gone over by their mechanics, all recalls were performed and service bulletins were completed as the vehicle was still under warranty. (Hey, why not use it up if you have it??) I had intentions of having the ECU tuned, so I thought it best to make sure everything was up to snuff before making changes.
Once she was home I logged onto the Saabnet forum and researched ECU tuning. I ended up settling on www.brewcityboost.com as they had great reviews and don't maximize performance at the cost of longevity or reliability. The big T cars come with 210 horsepower stock, which was great...but who wouldn't want another 57 horsepower?? The tune is a stage II tune that required an open air filter as a supporting modification. Prior to getting the ECM back I installed a set of iridium plugs, a new cabin air filter, and a K&N air filter element. With the ecotec direct injection engine and the tune....it a little gray rocket ship with a total of 267 hp!
I recently replaced the factory PIrelli all season tires (somehow they lasted until 80K miles) with a set of General G-MAX AS 03 all season performance tires. IThe new tires have around 800 miles on them and perform extremely well in water, which was one of the complaints I had about the Pirellis.
I installed ceramic brakes in the front and rear and just changed the oil with Mobil 1 synthetic and a FRAM Extraguard filter.
The only reason I'm selling is because a friend has an Audi A8 I've always wanted that he's willing to sell if I can send the Swedish to a new home. Don't worry, I still have a Saab SUV to satiate my Swedish hunger.
The exterior is in great condition with a pair of small door dings and one scrape beneath the front bumper where the previous owner scraped a parking curb. Pics of the flaws are in the listing.
The interior is in excellent condition and the car comes with every available option short of navigation. I particularly like the parking assistance and the added comfort of the OnStar system for when I don't have cellular coverage. The HID headlights and rain sensing wipers are awesome. It has the BOSE concert audio with an in dash CD changer, complete with two amplifiers and the XM radio for audiophiles.
All windows are one touch up....and down, which is a great idea in my opinion. I'm not sure why the car has dual climate control....I mean, you're sitting a foot away from the driver when you're a front seat passenger! The climate control works perfectly and I absolutely have to mention the best feature I've ever found in a Saab in all these years. The center console/arm rest slides forward and reverse on a rail system to make the driving position comfortable for anyone. Turbos are great, so are heated seats and XM Radio, but have a comfortable elbow really seems to make me smile for some reason.
The pictures aren't the greatest due to the time of day I took them. My camera has a flaw in the lens and puts a small blemish in the lower portion of all of the pictures. I assure you, it's not a coffee statin on the seats or any other part of the car.
If you have any questions, please drop me a line and I'll sort you out. Thanks for looking!

Look familiar? NEVS 9-3, 9-3X are Saab-derived EVs for China
Wed, May 31 2017National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) have been working on creating EVs based on its Saab assets for years. We heard back in 2015 that we'd have an EV based on the 9-3 this year, and now we're finally getting to see the results. NEVS has unveiled its 9-3 and 9-3X EV concepts, which it will use in a mobility project in Tianjin, China. NEVS is showing the 9-3 EVs at CES Asia in Shanghai on June 7-9, where it will also provide more details about the cars, its Tianjin project, and future plans for the brand. As for Tianjin, NEVS will provide the cars and the services for carsharing and ride-hailing programs in the city. For that project, NEVS is collaborating with Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Area (THT), which is the industrial park where its shared factory (with joint venture partner Dongfeng) and R&D center are located. NEVS President Mattias Bergman says, "We are excited by this great opportunity to develop smart, sustainable mobility solutions together with a progressive city as Tianjin, and develop them in full scale with real people in real life situations, with the vision to create a future integrated urban mobility solution." As for the 9-3 EVs, they're not much different in appearance from the GM-era Saabs, but they have NEVS badging (NEVS doesn't have rights to the Saab trademark). They have a driving range of about 186 miles, offer in-car Wi-Fi, smartphone connectivity, and can get over-the-air software updates. NEVS says the cars are equipped with a "world-class" cabin air filter, which helps keep harmful particulates out of the car (important in the polluted urban centers China is working to improve). They're being built in China, and are expected to hit the roads there in 2018. Related Video:
GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect
Fri, 13 Jun 2014General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.
NEVS to build new Saab models in China's Qingdao
Thu, 10 Jan 2013National Electric Vehicle Sweden has officially signed a deal with Qingdao Qingbo Investment Company that will see the NEVS build EVs in Qingdao, China. The move is the first step on the road toward eventually selling vehicles in China. Reuters reports that the Chinese company has agreed to invest $307.33 million, after which point Qingdao Qingbo will receive 22 percent of the NEVS shares. Currently, there's no word on exactly when the funds and shares will change hands, but the Swedish automaker has previously said it fully intends to launch its first EV by early 2014.
NEVS has also made waves about potentially building a version of the old Saab 9-3 with a traditional internal combustion driveline. Currently, the manufacturer says it plans to ship the vehicles it builds in Sweden to the Qingdao port and distribute them to the rest of China from there. Later down the line, a manufacturing facility in Qingdao will supply the country with Chinese-built Saab models.
