Fastest, sportiest family car you'll find...  Rare wagon model with turbocharged 2.0 litre engine is very quick, interior is in great condition.  All leather seats with wood trim throughout the vehicle.  Cold weather pkg special edition, tiptronic manual/automatic transmission, power sunroof with sliding moon roof.  Privacy slider for cargo bay & roof racks.

It's hard to come by these wagon's & when you do they are usually over listed at dealerships.  Dealershp book value for it is $7,134.   Here's a chance to save a lot of money - listing it for private party book value because it's worth every penny.  If we don't sell it in a couple weeks we'll keep it ourselves.

Steering is tight, rotors and pads good, fully inspected.  When we first purchased it, we had the Saab Specialist in central VT go through it and they said there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.  They went through it again this year and gave it a fresh oil change a month ago.  We bought it last year with 87K on it and put about 48,000 miles on it in a year and a half doing weekly trips from RI to VT, so all highway miles.  Now that we live in VT permanently we don't have to worry about good gas mileage so much so we've "upgraded" to a minivan.  All windows, doors, seats, locks, radio, speakers, everything is fully functional.  (The only observation we've made is every once in awhile when you start it, it will beep at you saying there is a "steering lock malfunction", then it goes away seconds later.  We've asked the saab specialist in VT and he said there is nothing to fix - it's a common fault on this model year triggered when the battery isn't full charged.  Doesn't impact safety or driveability)

We are having the interior detailed this week (shampoo carpets, etc) so it will be ready for you to drive away.

Saab owners NEVS denied creditor protection by Swedish court

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

The story of Saab is practically a Greek tragedy at this point. The quirky Swedish automaker that was once known as a pioneer of affordable turbocharging has been followed by years of news that just seemed to keep getting worse. At this point, maybe the brand name should be allowed to fade away into the ether and be remembered for the good times that it gave us.
Saab's latest predicament is that its parent National Electric Vehicle Sweden (or NEVS) has been denied protection from its creditors by the Swedish courts. According to Reuters, the judges called the business' financing plan "vague and completely undocumented." A company spokesperson told Reuters that it plans to appeal.
Seemingly in reaction to the court's decision, NEVS posted a press release on its website announcing that the company had applied "for a reorganization to create more time for the ongoing negotiations." The automaker continues to claim that it's negotiating with two global automakers to sell a portion of the company, possibly Mahindra, but the process is taking longer than it originally predicted. It seems a distinct possibility that this reorganization attempt is simply a way to buy extra time.

Petrolicious keeps our love of the Saab Sonett aflame

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

German auto designs lean toward function and purpose. Italian designers deliver passion and beauty. The Brits, majesty. American cars, brashness and authority. If you want a funky design, though, you go to Sweden. The land of cheap, do-it-yourself furniture and delicious meatballs knows a thing or six about style and design, and while that character is only now reemerging thanks to a certain string of Volvo concepts, it use to be that Saab was the authority on penning some of the industry's more unique designs.
Take the beautiful Sonett for example - a small coupe whose appearance is a funky mishmash of a Porsche 911 and a Bugeyed Sprite with just a hint of a Citroën DS (it's that convex rear window). It's a positively striking car, made more unique by its two-stroke, three-cylinder powertrain and four-on-the-tree manual transmission. With just 70 horsepower hauling about 1,500 pounds of Swedish style, the Sonett strikes us as an ideal alternative to some of the English sports cars of its day, particularly for those that are looking for something beyond your average MG or Triumph.
For Glenn Roberts, the Sonett was a part of his childhood. His family owned example was originally a special-order item by his parents in 1967. He bought the car from them 13 years later and has never looked back, completing a restoration in 2004. With a story like that, it's not surprising that Roberts and his silver Sonett are the most recent pairing to get some attention from Petrolicious.

Spyker to appeal dismissal of Saab lawsuit against GM

Fri, 21 Jun 2013

It seems as if Spyker CEO Victor Muller has made a decision on whether or not to pursue a legal battle between his company and General Motors. Spyker has announced it will appeal a US District Court decision to throw out the company's lawsuit against GM. As you may recall, on June 10 Judge Gershwin Drain ruled tht GM had a right to approve or disapprove Spyker's sale of Saab to Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile. Spyker sued GM for some $3 billion, claiming that the American automaker had forced Saab into bankruptcy by stopping Spyker from transferring intellectual property to its Chinese partner.
Spyker has said only that it plans to appeal the decision. Until now, the company has been silent about the ruling. GM, meanwhile, has said it is pleased with the original outcome. You can read the quick Spyker press release below for more information.
