For your consideration is one 2003 Saab 9-3 SE Convertible with only 57,900 miles on it.  I bought this car two months ago as a daily driver and have put the last 3,000 miles on it.  I have thoroughly enjoyed driving it.  It runs fantastic, handles excellently, and gets outstanding gas mileage.

The outside is black and shines nicely showing only minor normal wear.  In fact, I going to try and get my paintless dent remover out here to take them out.  The factory canvas top is black and is in outstanding condition and works perfectly. There is, of course, absolutely no rust.

The inside is tan leather and is in nearly showroom condition.  It even still has the factory Saab floormats.  The carpets and door panels are excellent.

Features on this fun cruising car include power windows, power locks, remote entry (two keys), front and rear factory foglights, automatic headlights, a perfect working information display, speed control, factory AM/FM/CD, traction control, heated seats, Onstar (not currently activated), driver's side memory seat, factory 16" alloy wheels, and a lot more I can't even think of off hand.  The A/C display doesn't completely light up but I am currently looking for a replacement.  I suspect it needs a new ribbon or to be resealed.  That said, though, it works perfectly.  It just doesn't fully display. Any Saab driver knows this is typical.

Under the hood, the 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo charged engine runs great.  It has plenty of power and is as smooth as, and feels like, a V6 with no 4 Cylinder buzz.  Yet, I consistently get 34.7 mpg highway without the A/C on (it is a convertible after all) and a consistent 33 mpg with the A/C on.  The CEL light is on.  I pulled the code and it indicates the ignition module may need to be replaced eventually, but, the car is running great and has never given me any issues whatsoever.  If the buy it now price of $5500 is met or exceeded, I will purchase a new ignition module to go with the car or be installed at the winner's discretion.

Just to make this car whole lot more enjoyable, as if the convertible wasn't enough, this car is equipped with the rare manual transmission.  The clutch picks up nicely and it shifts through the gears smoothly.

We are selling this vehicle with a 30 day/1000 mile warranty to customers within 30 miles of us.

We are a dealer located at 4279 N Blackstock Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29301.  We are very convenient to I85 business right off of exit 1.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact us.  Our telephone number is 864-576-2458.  Ask for David.  We are open 7 days a week and holidays at your convenience.  We can provide more photos if you would like them.  Thank you for looking at our ad.

High bidder is required to make contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction.

$500 deposit (cashier's check or money order) is required within 2 days of the end of the auction with the remaining balance due 4 days thereafter.

If the high bidder does not satisfy the balance in the alotted time period and does not make prior arrangements, the $500 deposit is non-refundable and I reserve the right, at that point, to offer the vehicle to the second highest bidder.

If I do not hear from the high bidder within 48 hours from the end of the auction, I reserve the right to offer/sell the car to the second highest bidder.

Zero feedback bidders are welcome, but please contact me prior to bidding.  I reserve the right to cancel zero feedback bids that have not done this.  Please keep this in mind if you are a "last minute" bidder.

This vehicle is listed for sale locally for $5500.  We reserve the right to end this auction early if the reserve has not been met and it sells locally.  However, once the reserve is met on the Ebay auction we will pull it from the lot.

I have set the reserve at $4500.  Please note that I will not end this auction early except under the circumstances listed above.  Ending an auction early when the reserve has been met is unfair to the other bidders and, quite frankly, downright unethical.

We would be happy to pick up the winning bidder at the local airport (Greenville Spartanburg International Airport), the local train station, or the local Greyhound station.

I do not pad our prices with any "documentation" fees like so many other car dealers on Ebay do.  Contrary to what many dealers will say it really doesn't cost much to fill out a couple of papers.  SC buyers will need to pay standard taxes (sales and property when applicable).  I can also help out of state buyers get a South Carolina temporary/vehicle in transit tag ($20).

Finally, SHIPPING...we do not ship cars ourselves.  However, we will be happy to work with your shipper any way we can.

3 former Saab execs charged with tax evasion

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Associated Press reports three former Saab executives have been arrested on charges of accounting fraud. Swedish prosecutor Olof Sahlgren has refused to identify the individuals, but says they're suspected of attempting to evade taxes by falsifying Saab accounts between 2010 and 2011 during the Spyker years. Other reports indicate the parties involved include former General Counsel to Saab Kristina Geers (seen to the left of former CEO Victor Muller, above), a 15-year-veteran of the company - her husband, Eric, was the company's communications director for 9 years as well.
Saab filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and was purchased shortly thereafter by National Electric Vehicle Sweden. If convicted, the trio could face up to four years in prison for their crimes under Swedish law.

First test drive shows promise of Saab 9-3 EV

Tue, Sep 16 2014

We can't read Swedish, so when it comes to a first-drive review of a Saab 9-3 electric-vehicle prototype, we'll trust Inside EVs' translation of a write-up from Swedish automotive publication Elbilen i Sverige. And it's a decent one. The write-up, that is. The translation, too, we hope. Taken to the test track, the Saab was found to be quieter than a Tesla Model S and had the stability commensurate for a car that tipped the scales at about 4,000 pounds. The sedan accelerated from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 10 seconds, though the goal is to bring that time down to 8.5 seconds. The prototype also uses a 37-kWh prototype battery made by China-based Kai Johan Jiang Annual National Modern Energy Holdings that should be good for over 180 miles (and there's room for a bigger pack in the car, apparently). The 9-3's electric motor will be able to deliver 200 horsepower but, for testing purposes, it was limited to about 140 horsepower. The overall impression was that the car is not yet ready for prime time, but has a lot of promise. When prototype becomes production is the real question, given the financial condition of Saab parent National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS). The company acquired the brand in 2012 and started making cars at Saab's Trollhattan plant in Sweden last year, but production stopped in May because of cash-flow issues. Late last month, Swedish courts denied NEVS protection from its creditors, so the company is now looking to restructure.

Saab 900 SPG is the latest Petrolicious love story

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

The latest video from the crew at Petrolicious covers one funky Swede - a 1989 Saab 900 SPG. Produced from 1978 to 1998, the 900 enjoyed a long history, and thanks to its iconic look, it's quickly becoming a modern classic for the off-kilter car enthusiast. The SPG, short for Special Performance Group, makes this a particularly rare find, with owner Jordan Melville saying, "I didn't even realize what I had at the time."
Melville gives a rundown of his life with the 900 and his passion for Saab overall, even reflecting on that dark day that saw the Swedish brand closed its doors. As always, the videography is excellent and the story is intriguing in this latest video from Petrolicious. You can view the entire video down below.
