Selling a wonderful and loved 2002 Saab 9-3 with 93,000 miles. The last year for this versatile hatchback. We're a Saab family and we have taken excellent care of it. We have 2 other Saabs and are members of the Saab Club. We bought it in 2003 off lease at 16k milles and have all records showing its maintenance. The oil has been changed every 3000 miles using only mobil-1, 0-40. The oil pan has ahttp://www.qwikvalve.com/ valve that makes it super easy to change the oil. Regular use of BG 44 fuel cleaner. Anything this Saab has needed it got. It's just been professionally detailed with seats steam cleaned, great wax and super clean interior. Never any accidents and no rust (Colorado = dry and no salt)
I just installed a new (Saab Information Display)SID with lifetime guarantee - no annoying missing pixels. Everything works - great heated seats!
Saab stainless steel sport exhaust - great sound - like the older 900's - not loud- but throaty sounding
Saab front grille that is dark, not the chrome
Genuine Saab (GS) thick rear sway bar
PCV modification upgrade
GS front steering rack clamp and brace
Saab upgraded  sliding center arm rest with cup holder
optima red top battery
black mats that have been off the car
Saab trailer hitch - used only for a bike rack - never towed anything
rear hatchback window is tinted
emblems have plastic covers on them - no peeling
debadged on the rear tailgate
3 key fobs
12,000 miles on studded snow tires on 16" Saab Viking wheels, also comes with the original 16" Saab wheels in excellent shape with worn pirelli tires. This is an excellent snow car with the 4 four studded tires! (the only car my wife will drive in the winter)
The car has shiny paint and the wheels are clean and shiny too.
In the last 12,000 the car has received new front and rear rotors and pads, new RR window regulator, new thermostat and coolant temp sensor, spark plugs and valve cover gasket, starter, oil pressure switch, new antenna- fully retracts -doesn't stay up like some many other Saabs, 90k miles service - new filters and fluids
The front windshield has a straight vertical crack that runs from the mirror straight down - it's not annoying or in the line of vision and it's not pitted  - so I've not had it replaced.

Also includes:
Saab dog guard (cage) for the rear
Saab cross bars with ski racks
Saab rubber mats for the front and the hatchback trunk area
3 Mann oil filters
fitted sun shade for front windshield

Thanks for looking

GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.

Future Classic: 1999-2002 Saab 9-3 Viggen

Mon, Jan 30 2023

Given the company’s now-defunct status, you could argue that all Saabs are future classics. Even the final round of cars from the era of General Motors ownership deserve their place in history. Seriously, how hot was the last 9-5? Handsome design and quirky features were hallmarks of the Saab brand, and its cars felt every bit as premium as its primary European competitors. But while other luxury carmakers put great effort into full lineups of performance cars, Sweden only produced the odd sporty Saab every once in a while. One of our favorites was the 9-3 Viggen from the turn of the century, and itÂ’s a car that still makes us swoon today. Why is the Saab 9-3 Viggen a future classic? Saab's whole "born from jets" tagline never really made much sense, but at least the 9-3 Viggen's name was a nod to the company's aerospace roots. The Swedish word "Viggen" translates to "thunderbolt" in English, and this name was used on the Saab 37 Viggen aircraft that entered service in the early 1970s. MotorWeek | Retro Review: '99 Saab Viggen The 9-3 Viggen used a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four engine, most notably remembered for its eyebrow-raising 20 psi of boost pressure. Rated at 225 horsepower – which was later bumped up to 230 hp – and 252 pound-feet of torque, this engine was paired exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Stiffer suspension components, firmer dampers, stronger driveshafts, a heavy-duty clutch and a revised exhaust were also part of the package. The Viggen was relatively quick, with Saab quoting a 0-to-60-mph time of around 6.5 seconds. However, the 9-3 Viggen is largely remembered for things like its ridiculous turbo lag and torque steer – characteristics that kind of made this car hilarious to drive, even if they took away from overall sharpness and composure. What is the ideal example of the Saab 9-3 Viggen? Saab offered the 9-3 Viggen as a three-door hatchback, five-door hatchback and two-door convertible. And while this car is most commonly remembered in its launch shade, Lightning Blue, Saab offered the Viggen in black, gray, red, silver and yellow. You could even spec the interior with blue, orange or tan leather accents. Arguably the most iconic 9-3 Viggen spec is a Lightning Blue three-door hatch, but the other colors are far more rare. WeÂ’ve got a major soft spot for a Monte Carlo Yellow five-door, but really, you canÂ’t go wrong.

Victor Muller to pay Sweden back taxes for Saab work

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

Victor Muller, Saab's CEO from 2010 to 2011, has been ordered by the Swedish court to pay the back taxes he owes the country for his work at Saab, Autoweek and Volkskrant report. When he was the automaker's CEO he received a salary of about 8 million Swedish Krona ($1.25 million), which was recorded as a reward for consultancy work for a company in the US that Muller owns. The move allowed him to evade taxes for awhile, but the court has ordered him to pay taxes on his full salary.
Muller, who is also CEO of Spyker, and two other Saab executives were accused of accounting fraud in May, which took place in 2010 and 2011. According to reports, Muller maintains that he is not subject to taxes in Sweden.
