2000 Saab 9-3 Viggen. Clean Carfax, No Accidents. Service History. Bbs Wheels on 2040-cars
Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States
For sale is a 2000 Saab 9-3 Viggen. Runs and drives great. Shifts smoothly into all gears and pulls hard. There is an extensive service history with this car and it has been taken care of by previous owners. All original except for a set of ASA-licensed by BBS 17" wheels. I purchased the car from Park Ave Lotus, formerly Park Ave Saab. I only drove the car less than 1000 miles, But that included a 10 hr trip both ways to Vermont and back skiing and the car drove wonderfully with no issues and got nearly 30 mpg. When I got the car home I took it to my mechanic and it will need front brake pads and eventually a passenger ball joint. I was told it will need to be replaced but it's not an immediate concern and can wait. Two small dime sized dings and some normal wear and tear scratches but other than that the paint shines nicely when cleaned up and the body is in great shape. Power seats, moonroof, heated leather. Everything electronic is in great working order. All power options work as they should. This is a nicely taken care of example of a rare Viggen. I was in need of a car and when I saw this for sale I jumped on it. Recently a car I've been waiting 15 years for has come up for sale and it forces me to part ways with the Saab. Clean and clear title in hand. I can help arrange shipping for buyer, and the car can be seen locally in person at any time. I reserve the right to end auction early as car is for sale locally.

This virtually new, very last Saab 9-3 could be yours
Mon, Oct 7 2019The date is October 7, 2019, and it is currently possible to buy a virtually new 2014 Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4. Spiking the car's rarity is the fact that this specific vehicle is said to be the last Saab to roll off the production line in Trollhattan, Sweden. Driven only 41 miles, chassis No. YTNFD4AZXE1100257 is a true piece of Swedish automotive history, and it's set for auction this month. We first got word of this car back in June 2019, and the time has finally come for this Saab to be sold. As previously reported, this vehicle is from the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) era. The seller, Bilweb Auctions, says it is the last Saab to come off the manufacturing line, and it was reportedly set aside for crash testing. The testing never occurred, and the sedan, one of only 420 built, survived. The seller says the mileage comes from running the car on the test track next to the old plant for photography and videography purposes. This 9-3 Aero uses a Ecotec 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 217 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It has immaculate Diamond Silver paint and matching silver turbine wheels. Inside, there is a two-tone interior with cream leather seats, a black dashboard, and black accents. According to Autocar, the proceeds of the auction will go to NEVS' Sustainable Mobility Scholarship at University West in Sweden. Bidding on the car opens soon, and interested parties can sign up to be alerted when the auction starts.  Auto News Auctions Saab Sedan
Son surprises mom with her dream car, a 1973 Saab 99
Wed, Aug 13 2014Often, it feels like the news is just a never-ending stream of one depressing headline after another. It can be so liberating to see something positive and uplifting every once in a while. Just look at the ecstatic expression on this mother's face after receiving her dream car from her son. Mom has some seriously quirky taste too: she isn't after a muscle car or a two-seat droptop; instead, it's a 1973 Saab 99 EMS in a very '70s shade of copper at the top of her wish list. According to the video, it took her son about a year to track down this hunk of Swedish steel and save up the money to purchase it. Though, judging from his mom's reaction, it was worth every penny. She puts together what's going on with the Saab pretty quickly and immediately starts swearing at her son – out of love, of course. If you're feeling a little blue, consider this a much-needed pick-me-up. Watching the unbridled joy of someone getting something that they always wanted just feels wonderful.
Saab 9-3 production has restarted
Sun, 01 Dec 2013If you're one of the small cadre of Saab drivers, first of all, kudos to you. Because as Top Gear pointed out, Saab drivers are among the most intellectual drivers out there. Secondly, we've got good news for you, because the 9-3 has officially resumed production at the Trollhättan plant in Sweden.
For those of you who may not have followed the story, a quick refresher: Founded in 1947, Saab Automobile AB was an independent automaker until 1989 when General Motors began the decade-long process acquiring it. Unable to make it profitable, GM sold Saab to Spyker in 2010, but that Dutch automaker proved unable to make a go of it, either, and finally shut it down a year later. Much of Saab's assets were acquired by National Electric Vehicle Sweden, which in turn is partially owned by the Chinese city of Qingdao, which pledged to get production back online by the end of the year.
NEVS has apparently made good on its promise, bringing 600 workers back to the factory to resume production of the 9-3 much as it was when a workforce of 3,500 labored on it and its stablemates prior to the bankruptcy. The reborn 9-3 will be sold in Sweden and in China, with an electric version to bring some other updates sometime next year.
