1933 Phantom II
Barbara Hutton - Prince Mdivani Car
Continental Chassis 144 Inch WB
You are about to enter into an amazing part of Rolls Royce history. This Phantom II is featured in "The Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental" book by Raymond Gentile. He writes: "The first production chassis of the series was a Continental and quite a spectacular car. The car is a drophead (convertible) with the Aluminum instrument panel containing every conceivable instrument available at that time, including altimeter, tachometer, tapley meter, temperature gauge. The chassis card lists the original owners requirement for 13 1/2 degree louvres and a bonnet four inches longer than the standard (for a charge of L4 was made) Although painted in metallic colors today, it is nevertheless a very imposing motor car."
This famous Phantom belongs to a private collector who has decided to reduce his vehicle collection after over 40 years of owning some of the most outstanding cars known world wide. His collection included the Embiricos 540K Mercedes, The McCormick Duesenburg J Murphy Convertible Sedan, The Lady Docker DE-36 Hooper Drophead, a 1947 Bentley Franay Drophead. His vehicles have all been restored in his own facility by the same three craftsmen, with over 90 years of combined experience in restoring and maintaining classic cars. The Prince Mdivani Phantom II Drophead was built in 1933 at a cost of over $20,000.00. The Car was built for the prince and purchased by his wife, Barbara "The Million Dollar Baby" Hutton. She was the Granddaughter F.W. Woolworth's and the niece of E.F. Hutton. It was apparent to all that one day she would become one of the richest women in the world. She came into her inheritance at the age of 10. By the time she was 21 her inheritance had ballooned in excess of 50 million dollars. After she received the inheritance in 1933, she gave her father a 5 million dollar thank you gift. In her lifetime she had seven husbands including Prince Mdivani and Cary Grant.
We can also provide the records for the recent work on the car. The Phantom II has a super look and provenance. There are various stacks of service records, owner history, ship logs and service history.

Rolls-Royce Wraith convertible spied sliding in the snow
Wed, Mar 18 2015Rolls-Royce may be on the verge of producing its first crossover, but it's a different prototype we're looking at here, frolicking in the snow. It's the convertible version of the Wraith, which Rolls-Royce is preparing to join the existing fastback coupe and the Ghost sedan in its "entry-level" lineup. Only we don't expect it to be called the Wraith Drophead Coupe like its larger counterpart, the Phantom DHC, but to go with an entirely different name (just as the aforementioned fastback took to distinguish itself from the sedan). Expect Goodwood to pull another suitably poltergeist-related nameplate from its archives (or from the netherworld) to slap on its new drop-top. Otherwise, we can expect the Wraith convertible (or whatever it's ultimately called) to closely mirror its fixed-roof counterpart, complete with suicide doors and a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12, when it arrives sometime in the middle of next year. Rolls-Royce CEO says demand for luxury cars is recovering
Tue, Sep 1 2020LONDON — The chief executive of Rolls-Royce said demand for his company's luxury cars is rebounding, helped by sales in Asia, and he is optimistic about the outlook for next year after the coronavirus pandemic hit consumer confidence and closed dealerships. Torsten Muller-Otvos said the demand meant Rolls-Royce was the first car company to resume car production in the United Kingdom on May 4. "We see a very fruitful business now coming back from Asia, also Europe is coming back on track, the Americas just delivered an excellent July result and August result," the boss of the BMW-owned Rolls-Royce Motor Cars told Reuters. "I am quite optimistic looking into 2021, particularly on the back of a very strong order bank we have already on our books." Muller-Otvos said his company has no plans to move production out of the United Kingdom because of Brexit. "We are committed to Britain. I would even call us being part of the British industrial crown jewels," he said. "For that reason, Rolls-Royce belongs to Britain."
Rolls-Royce rolls out special Al-Adiyat edition in the Middle East
Fri, Feb 27 2015Rolls-Royce regularly makes special editions for one market or another. And lets face it: most of them are in the Middle East, or more specifically along the Persian Gulf. But their names don't always translate well to English, even for an English automaker. The last one, for example, was characterized as a Mysore. And this latest one is for Adiyats. Al-Adiyat is actually what this latest special run of Rolls-Royces are called, taking its name from the Arabic word describing the sound hoofs make when they hit the ground. It's a limited edition of just ten coupes, including nine Wraiths and the one and only Phantom Coupe you see here. The collection takes its inspiration from horses, "with motifs of reigns and horses, while gold-plated horseshoe stamps make a striking statement upon the clock and treadplates." The look is completed (on the Phantom at least) with a bright red paintjob that continues inside with red leather, carpets and headliner. In short, it's not for subtle tastes, but we don't doubt that Rolls will sell each and every one, assuming it hasn't already.
