~ This is a truly exclusive offering of this 1-Off Silver Dawn...there's only one ! ~
~ This is the very last Silver Dawn Chassis (LSVJ133) ever produced ! ~
~ This is the only Lightweight "Alloy" Mulliner made Silver Dawn produced ! ~
The most desirable cars today for the serious collector seem to be from the big three...Ferrari, Mercedes or Rolls Royce. They have to be either a 1-off
Custom "Coach Built" car or ultra rare low production cars made from the 30's thru the 60's. The last pinnacle on the investment podium are special cars
that are made from Aluminum. The 300SL & the 275 GTB/4 have proven to be worth 3-4 times more than its steel counterparts. This wonderful Rolls Royce we
have on offer is one of those perfect cars that have all the right boxes checked on your wish list. It is an all "Alloy" bodied Silver Dawn specially made
for The Bowes Builder Corporation in 1955 to their specifications. This is a very well known Silver Dawn amongst the Rolls Royce community. It is a US
spec delivery with Left Hand Drive on what is the very last Silver Dawn chassis ever produced & the only "Lightweight" Silver Dawn made by H.J.Mulliner.
Known as "LSVJ133", it was made by H.J.Mulliner & Co.Ltd. to a design that took the rather bland steel Silver Dawn platform to the next iconic level in
Rolls Royce's future designs. Made from hand formed Aluminum, its become one of the Sportiest Saloons ever produced. Its Shell Gray over Black Pearl
Coachwork is absolutly breathtaking. Its Cream Leather interior is stunning. It is equipped as follows from its original Build Sheet: It has a very rare,
huge Factory sliding Sunroof. It has an optional picnic set containing a lunchbox, plates, thermos & matching silverware mounted in a sliding access door
inside the drivers door. It has a crystal decanter & set of 4 shot glasses (missing 1) in the front passenger door, also inside a sliding access door.
It has a set of back seat wooden picnic tables mounted behind the front seat. It still retains it's original notebook, comb & accessories mounted in
areas around the back seat. It has it's original tool tray covering its factory Kinsman Tyre Pump system. It has a 6 piece set of fitted bags by "Velation
Planned Luggage". It is also equipped with Air Conditioning with wooden vents under the dash as well as a modern Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette Radio. Please note that we have & are currently spending well over $5K. in recent needed maintenance from its last slumber to make sure this Gorgeous & Sporty Silver Dawn doesn't disappoint...
It was completely restored to as new in c.1989. It still appears in a wonderful state & shows only slight use & very few miles since. The odometer states
it has only 37K original miles from new.It also makes an appearance in "Rolls Royce, the Elegance Continues" by Lawrence
Dalton & "Silver Dawns & Silver Wraiths" by Bernard King. This is a must have for any serious Rolls Royce collector. Fantastic Documentation from day
one straight from the Rolls Royce Foundation stating this chassis was meant for a Bentley, but was decided to make it a big splash & designated it to
be a Roller instead. Please notice the hand written Certicard, both front & rear are loaded with all of the 1st owners want list.
Then notice the factory specs Works instruction build sheet & the copy of the ledger showing LSVJ133 as being the last chassis produced. This has to be one
of the most modern designs in 1955, of a very special optioned Lightweight Silver Dawn along with a ton of documentation to back it up. Please consider this
1-off Alloy Bodied Rolls that sports the last Dawn Chassis in which ended one of the most exclusive & exciting eras in Rolls Royce history.

There is apparently a migration of sorts among the set that would buy something like the 2016 Rolls-Royce Dawn, the newly arrived drophead variant of the raffish Wraith. When our theoretical Dawn buyer finds the Cote d'Azur or some such place a bit chilly, perhaps it's off to South Africa. Late March is the tail end of summer, and it's an exceedingly pleasant way to get into the Dawn state of mind. Stellenbosch is just northeast of Cape Town, the "Mother City." What used to be open country occupied primarily by the Khoikhoi and Khoisan peoples, as well as prototypical African game, is now wine country. Our starting point is a vineyard estate called Delaire Graff owned by a diamond baron. South Africa's diverse and stunning countryside is on display as we leave the vineyard and climb. The lower highlands are covered with quasi-Californian scrub, but with altitude the scene transforms into a mist-tickled moor full of low heather-like plants and tumbling rivulets. We traverse the suburban lowlands to a windy road clinging to a cliffside above the crashing surf of the Indian Ocean. Ancient cliffs and peaks jut over us at improbable angles and in fascinating shapes. At the end of our drive, looking across False Bay, the Cape stretches south towards the equivocal boundary between two oceans. Twice and then once, the Cape lighthouse winks at the end of Africa. Most automakers consider sportiness the ultimate attribute. Like its stablemates, the Rolls-Royce Dawn's draw is its timelessness and unabashed luxury. Here that's paired with the inherent hedonism of a convertible, not to mention the cachet that comes with spending $340,000 or more (most likely more) on a car. That figure makes the Dawn more expensive than the Ghost or Wraith, but less than the Phantom range. The Dawn is vast; like most huge things, it commands attention because it takes up so much space. Watching my colleagues dart around town was a bit like watching a flotilla of cruise liners maneuver to their moorages. Like a yacht with a lot of freeboard, the flanks rise impressively to the top of the door, but then there's some tumblehome inward to the thick brightwork strip ringing the cabin. A longitudinal spear of chrome bisects the hood, a bit like a grab-rail on the foredeck. The Spirit of Ecstasy could have graced the bowsprit of any of the windjammers that hove into Table Bay. Twice and then once, the Cape lighthouse winks at the end of Africa.

Rolls-Royce closed order books for the Wraith coupe and Dawn convertible at the end of last year in the U.S. Brand chief Torsten Muller-Otvos told Autocar that both have since been removed from every market. Final orders are still being produced at the Goodwood factory, so the last Wraith and Dawn won't likely leave the line until early next year. But with the taps turned off and nothing to replace them yet, Rolls-Royce will soon be two-thirds of the way done with what has been a very successful chapter in its history. Those two offerings, as well as the Ghost sedan, are based on the architecture BMW created for the 2008 7 Series. Now only the Ghost remains of the trio, at this point planned for production until 2030 when Rolls-Royce will convert being to an electric-only automaker. More modern products like the Phantom II sedan and the Cullinan crossover ride on the company's Architecture of Luxury. That structure will also support the Spectre battery-electric coupe meant to go on sale at the end of 2023. Spectre spy shots reveal a body that looks much like the Wraith; however, Autocar says, "Rolls instead views the Spectre as a belated successor to the coupe version of the seventh-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom, with the pair sharing a similar footprint and the Spectre therefore having its own distinct positioning within the Rolls range." The erstwhile Phantom Coupe's length and wheelbase were about 20 inches longer than those of a Wraith. The Phantom II sedan is but a couple of inches longer than the previous two-door. Point being, the Spectre might be silent, but it won't be small. There will still be some BMW in it, however, like Rolls-Royce's version of the stacked headlights BMW is about to debut on the i7 and X7, and there's speculation the top-dog BMW iX M60i powertrain will cross the Channel to enter Goodwood's service. Peak output for the BMW reaches 610 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, which sound like fine numbers for wafting.
