1980 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II Superb Low Mileage 3 Owner Car in Exceptional Condition This is a superb example of the last production year of the legendary Rolls Royce Silver Shadow & Wraith series. All the problems had been sorted out and the best of the series development was included in this year. This is not a fuel injected car so you are ahead of the game! I can tell you that this car seems like it drives just like new. It is truly exceptional and shows that it is a 28,000 original mile car. Every aspect of the car is wonderful. You would need to have the entire Rolls Royce experience of driving and inspecting it to understand why we are pricing this car above most of the other Rolls you typically see on ebay. My feedback for all the cars I have sold is exceptional and can feel secure that the description I am providing is accurate. We have a lot of documentation for this car. The COMPLETE Owners Book and Documents are provided along with the original ordering sheets, trucking pickup from the factory by Brown Jenks and delivery & inspection information. There are also lots of receipts but none covering the first the years 1984 to 1997 (we suspect the car was serviced properly by the same wealthy owner during that time). The car was delivered new to Universal Motor Company in Honolulu, HI. The certificate of origin is dated April 30, 1981. The car was first sold to Paradise Palms Vacation Club on Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu. The early inspection and delivery repairs were done at Universal Motors. In January through April 1982 the car lived in Stateline, NV and we have receipts showing that the car was in Reno, NV and Modern Classic Motors of Reno performed warranty service work. On May 20, 1982 the car's warranty was transferred to Effie Marie Cain of Dallas, TX who appears to be the wife of R. Wolford Cain the co-founder of Southern Union Company. We have receipts showing Mrs. Cain's as the owner up to August of 1983. We have no records between 1983 and 1998 however we are fairly certain Mrs. Cain owned the car the entire time. A collector in Dallas purchased the car in December 1998 and owned the car until I purchased it November of 2012. We have extensive repair records since 1998. After we purchased the car we had Ronny's Garage in Santa Ana, CA go over the car. Ronny is a very well known Rolls Royce mechanic and is highly regarded in Rolls Royce Owners Club circles. Ronny inspected the car and found it to be excellent. He rebuilt the accumulators, serviced the air conditioning, fixed the cruise control and repaired a number of other small items. Since then the rear shock absorber upper strut rubber mounting piece has failed so there is an occasional knocking of it when going over large bumps. Exterior The exterior was repainted at some time to exceptionally high standards. The paint finish is outstanding and I had the entire car color sanded and deep polished when I acquired it. The Everflex top is essentially perfect and absolutely beautiful. I don't see any evidence of rust under the top but invite a professional inspection. All chrome & stainless is spectacular. All glass and glass sealing pieces are near perfect. Truly the exterior is this car is just outstanding. Click on any exterior photo below and the very large original photo will be loaded. You can then zoom in to see the car in detail. Interior The interior is overall in superior condition. All leather seating is excellent. Door panel & dash leather is also excellent. Carpeting is in near perfect condition as are the soft wool floor overlays. Headliner is in essentially perfect condition. The wood is overall superior but does have some cracks that you can see in our photos. All lights & gauges work properly as do all window lifts and the door lock system. The combination of dark blue hides & carpet with the wood is simply spectacular! The interior has no musty spell and is just of fresh leather and wool....luxurious to the senses! Mechanical The mechanics of the car have been fully reviewed and are in excellent condition and work properly. As with any 33 year old car it is advised that you have your own inspection performed. I did one just a year ago and am perfectly satisfied that the car is in superior roadworthy condition. Conclusion This is the 5th Rolls Royce I have owned. Prior to this I has a 1979 Shadow, 1976 Wraith, 1976 Camargue and a 1965 Phantom V. This is absolutely the nicest driving Rolls Royce I have ever owned. The low mileage, superb mechanical & cosmetic condition all supported by just 29,000 miles with obvious excellent servicing since new makes this an ideal choice for any Rolls enthusiast or collector. The clear Montana title is in my name and the car is currently in Orange County, CA. Please do not request to come see the car unless you are a very serious purchaser.

2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Review | Three things I learned driving a $429,400 SUV
Fri, Jul 15 2022TROY, Mich. — Rolls-Royce is the epitome of the vehicle as a luxury good. It has features that are expensive and luxurious rather than functional, and they create an image that separates a Rolls-Royce from almost everything else, save perhaps Bentley. I recently spent a few days in the 2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the brandÂ’s first and only SUV. ItÂ’s a legit people-hauler. Good luck getting your retriever and her food in the Ferrari Purosangue, but the Cullinan borders on a #vanlife operation. HereÂ’s three things I learned after driving in the opulent $429,400 Cullinan. Fear not, itÂ’s easy to drive The intimidation factor is not what I expected. The Cullinan is about as long as a Chevy Tahoe and four inches wider. It does not drive that way. The steering is light but direct and communicative. Factor in four-wheel steering, and itÂ’s like driving a much smaller car. The driverÂ’s seating position is excellent and provided a clear view of my surroundings. With the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament leading the way, it felt majestic. ThatÂ’s what Rolls is going for, but the setting also gave me confidence with both corners clearly visible. It doesnÂ’t matter how much a car costs if you feel like you know what youÂ’re doing. RollsÂ’ famous Magic Carpet Ride makes for perhaps the smoothest experience IÂ’ve had in any car or SUV. The suspension is always adjusting, and almost no bumps or potholes could bother me or my passengers. It really is next-level comfort. Given that the chassis is working with 22-inch wheels, itÂ’s all the more impressive. The V12 engine puts out 563 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Get on the throttle and it will move, but with decorum. Yes, thereÂ’s an aura IÂ’ve driven plenty of luxury cars that donÂ’t live up to the hype. The Cullinan is not one of them. My Rolls had the Shooting Star headliner, a $7,975 option that turns your vehicle into a rolling planetarium. ItÂ’s one of those features that sounds contrived until you experience it. The celestial sky is mesmerizing, and when your passengers see the shooting-star feature, get ready for the oohs and ahhs. Rolls first launched the headliner in 2006 as a custom option, but now itÂ’s on most of its vehicles. The stars are illuminated by fiber-optic cables and six powerful light cannons, according to Rolls-Royce, and thereÂ’s up to 1,600 hand-cut holes in the headliner. Rolls-Royce electric airplane smashes record, hits 387.4 mph
Mon, Nov 22 2021Just two months after its maiden flight, Rolls-Royce's "Spirit of Innovation" has hit a top speed of 387.4 mph, tentatively smashing the speed record for electric airplanes, Gizmodo has reported. It also claimed the top speed of 345.4 MPH over a 3 kilometer (1.86 mile) course and lowest time to a 3,000 meter (9,843 feet) altitude (202 seconds). The records have yet to be certified, but if the 345.5 mph speed stands, it would beat the current record of 213 mph — held by a Siemens-powered Extra 330LE — by an impressive 132 mph. Rolls-Royce (the aviation, not the car company), conducted the tests on November 16 as part of its ACCEL (accelerating electrification of flight) project. To have the records certified, it's submitting the trials to the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI), the body in charge of world aviation records. If confirmed, the speeds would be pretty impressive considering that the plane only made its maiden flight in September — suggesting that with more time, it could go even faster. 51690212450_7e8bcb3ad8_k View 12 Photos The Spirit of Innovation is an old-school "tail-dragger" airplane (steering at the rear) with the canopy pushed way back, and looks as fast as it goes. It's powered by a 400 kW (535 HP), 750 volt motor. Rolls-Royce said it uses the "most power-dense propulsion battery pack ever assembled in aerospace," with 6,480 cells. As Engadget detailed in an explainer, electric airplanes aren't practical since current batteries are 50 times less energy dense than jet fuel. However, they do hold some promise for very short trips, like a 30 minute jaunt between Vancouver and Victoria in Canada. And unlike non-turbocharged ICE engines, electric motors retain full power as an airplane climbs, making them ideal for time-to-altitude record attempts — as the Spirit of Innovation has just shown. Green Rolls-Royce

Thu, Dec 1 2016Rolls-Royce let out a pair of new images of Project Cullinan, the company's attempt to deliver ultra-luxury and brick-like aerodynamics in an SUV form factor. These images mark the first time we've seen Project Cullinan in its production body, albeit clad with swirly camouflage. All our previous spy photos showed a Phantom with a ridiculous wing, for example. These new images hide the wagon-like traits of the rear, but are a strong sign that Rolls has finalized the Cullinan's design. The prominent slatted grille and imposing headlights are the big design calling cards, but even with the camouflage, the upright fascia and long hood stand out as distinguishing styling traits. Even the mirrors say "Rolls-Royce", sitting atop delicate stalks with sizable housings on top. We can't divine much about the Cullinan's tail or rear haunches, so there's still some mystery yet to be revealed. With these are official images out, we expect an influx of spy images in the very near future. According to the company, Cullinan will move to the Arctic Circle for cold-weather testing after the Christmas holidays. Later next year, it's off to what's likely the SUV's primary market – the Middle East – for hot weather testing.
