1972 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow

73,253 Documented Actual Miles

NO RESERVE! BID TO WIN!

For Sale is a 1972 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in very nice driver condition. This is a solid car with NO RUST or rust repair. This is a great way to get into a Rolls Royce without breaking the bank. Please read the full description below and e-mail me any questions.

Exterior - This Silver Shadow is a beautiful 2-Tone model as ordered from the factory. It is dark blue on the bottom with a light blue on top. The paint is in very nice condition and is shiny throughout. This car looks to have been repainted at some point and it was done professionally. The windows are crack free and show no signs of pitting or hazing. The chrome is bright and could use a good polish but is not pitted or peeling. The power windows are fully operational.

Interior - The interior is in average condition. The leather is showing signs of age and could use some coloring. There are no tears or major cracks in the leather. The wood is in good condition except for along the windshield, which has peeling veneer. The wood has some minor hairline cracks in places but it is not very noticeable. The carpets, dashboard and rear shelf are in very nice condition. This car has the original 8-Track radio still installed and includes some 8-Tracks. The AIR CONDITIONING WORKS and blows very cold.

Mechanical - This car runs fantastic. Both of the carburetors were just professionally rebuilt using the Rolls Royce factory parts. It accelerates smoothly without any abnormal noises or smells. It idles quietly with NO SMOKE. The brakes are good but could use some going through. Although the brakes are operating as designed, they have a softer feel and may need to be bled out. The suspension and steering are operating as designed with no issues. The power steering works as designed. The tires are older but in good condition.

Electrical - All of the lighting and interior electrical components work as designed. The power seats, windows and gauges are working as designed. This is a british car after all and it is nice to find one with a electrical system this reliable.

Please e-mail any questions that you have and I will quickly reply. Please only bid if you intend to follow through. This is a great opportunity to own a Rolls Royce that is a great driver quality car. Please do not expect a show car because it is not one. It is just a good honest car that needs some very minor repairs.

Rolls-Royce developing new convertible

Wed, 06 Aug 2014

Rolls-Royce is not a company that makes a lot of different vehicles, but of the ones it does, it tends to offer several versions. That's how we end up with sedan, long-wheelbase, coupe and (in the former's case) convertible versions of the Phantom and Ghost. And now Goodwood has confirmed development of another model.
Although details in the press release below are few and far between, it does promise to "deliver effortless, open-top touring... with an engaging and exhilarating driving experience." CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös added: "We are currently developing an exciting and thoroughly contemporary interpretation of a pinnacle drophead tourer which will introduce even more discerning men and women to Rolls-Royce ownership."
What that tells us is that the new model - set to reach showrooms "by mid-2016" - will be a convertible that's exciting to drive and more youthful than the Phantom Drophead Coupe. In other words, and in all likelihood, we're looking at the convertible version of the Ghost-based Wraith fastback (like the one we recently spotted undergoing testing, pictured above). Expect it, then, to carry the same 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12, but with the added rush of wind in your hair.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II introduced for 2023

Thu, May 12 2022

Rolls-Royce sent its Phantom off to finishing school for 2023. What came back is the Series II, which Rolls itself acknowledges as a "subtle" evolution of the iconic superluxury sedan. To mark the occasion, the company commissioned a one-off model named Platino (for "platinum"), which is pictured below.  "The subtle changes we have made for the new Phantom Series II have all been minutely considered and meticulously executed. As Sir Henry Royce himself said: ‘Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thingÂ’,” said Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos in the company's official announcement.  The Phantom Series II received what Rolls-Royce described as a "light-touch" aesthetic update. The grille is just a touch more upright and is now illuminated (a cue borrowed from the Ghost) and the headlights now feature a laser-cut pattern designed to mimic the Rolls-Royce-signature "Starlight" headliner in the Phantom's interior. Two new wheel options have been added. The first is a 3D-milled stainless wheel featuring triangular facets; the second is the 1920s-style disc available in either stainless or black lacquer finish.  Inside, nothing has really changed, but you'd be unlikely to notice one way or the other since no two Phantoms ever really look alike unless they're deliberately commissioned thusly. Rolls-Royce says the steering wheel is the only interior upgrade of note; it was made slightly thicker. The infotainment system was also updated to incorporate Rolls-Royce Connected, which talks to its digital concierge smartphone app, Whisper. That allows owners to monitor the Phantom's vitals, send destinations to the navigation system or schedule service.  The Phantom Platino (that white one above) is a perfect illustration of what we said above about no two Phantoms looking the same. Rolls-Royce's Bespoke individualization program is busy pretty much 24/7 putting together one-of-a-kind creations for its uber-wealthy customers. The Platino's fabric rear seats are a nod to the early days of Rolls-Royce, when front seats were leather-adorned but the rear were covered in upholstered cloth.  Related Video This content is hosted by a third party. Here's an official peek at the Rolls-Royce SUV

Thu, Dec 1 2016

Rolls-Royce let out a pair of new images of Project Cullinan, the company's attempt to deliver ultra-luxury and brick-like aerodynamics in an SUV form factor. These images mark the first time we've seen Project Cullinan in its production body, albeit clad with swirly camouflage. All our previous spy photos showed a Phantom with a ridiculous wing, for example. These new images hide the wagon-like traits of the rear, but are a strong sign that Rolls has finalized the Cullinan's design. The prominent slatted grille and imposing headlights are the big design calling cards, but even with the camouflage, the upright fascia and long hood stand out as distinguishing styling traits. Even the mirrors say "Rolls-Royce", sitting atop delicate stalks with sizable housings on top. We can't divine much about the Cullinan's tail or rear haunches, so there's still some mystery yet to be revealed. With these are official images out, we expect an influx of spy images in the very near future. According to the company, Cullinan will move to the Arctic Circle for cold-weather testing after the Christmas holidays. Later next year, it's off to what's likely the SUV's primary market – the Middle East – for hot weather testing. Naturally, our spies should return a bevy of images of both hot and cold-weather testing. Stay tuned. View 2 Photos
