Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty trucks rustle up more luxury with Rodeo Edition

Now there's an even more luxurious version of Ram's Heavy Duty 2500/3500 pickup called the Ram Rodeo Edition. This takes the already highly-appointed Laramie Longhorn heavy duty work truck and gives it even more features for the 2018 model year. On the outside you get body-colored bumpers and side-steps. For single-rear-wheel trucks you'll get 20-inch aluminum wheels, and dual-rear-wheel trucks will have 17-inch polished aluminum rims. The Longhorn name will stretch across the tailgate in a more subdued fashion than we thought it would have. A suede headliner is the main change over the base Longhorn on the inside. Functionality is where the your money really goes for the Ram Rodeo, because it'll come with the gooseneck trailer prep package and bed-view camera. In addition to that you'll get a rear air suspension to aid in load-leveling when hauling payload or a trailer. A set of skid plates and the Mopar bed step round out the Ram Rodeo Edition changes. You'll be able to get the Ram Rodeo with the crew cab or mega cab configurations. Both the 6.4-liter V8 and the 6.7-liter Cummins I6 diesel are fair game as well. A base 2500 Longhorn will run you $56,440 including destination, but the Ram Rodeo Edition starts at $62,485. The 3500 bumps that up to $72,955. Luxury trucks are not cheap. Ram says the Ram Rodeo Edition will be available in the third quarter of 2018, so essentially, they've arrived. Featured video:

2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition is a true-blue Texas truck

American pickup builders love celebrating the Southwest, and Ram is taking its latest stab at the "Texans love trucks" trope with the 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition.  This is essentially an appearance and popular equipment package. Outside, the truck gets a body-colored grille surround, bumpers and mirror caps. A restrained smattering of chrome accents rounds out the look, adding a touch of class without getting too glare-heavy.  Inside, it's essentially a Laramie. Standard equipment includes a 12-inch touchscreen with the latest Uconnect infotainment suite, a panoramic sunroof, remote tailgate release, rain-sensing wipers and an electric trailer brake controller.  “For nearly 20 years, Ram has recognized that Texas and AmericaÂ’s Southwest are the center of the truck universe,” said Mike Koval, Ad Interim Head of Ram Brand, FCA - North America. “Ram was the first manufacturer to offer a Texas-exclusive model, and the Lone Star edition remains our most popular truck in Texas. Our new Ram Laramie Southwest Edition adds the segmentÂ’s best combination of performance, capability, luxury and technology.” Ram says the Southwest Edition can be had with any of the Laramie's existing powertrain configurations, in both Quad- and Crew Cab bodies, and with both the 5'7" and 6'4" bed lengths. The starting price is $47,075 including destination.  The 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition is a "Texas Edition" by another name, and will be sold exclusively in the Lone Star State and its immediate neighbors. 2022 Ram 1500 adds G/T model to Rebel and Laramie trims

The 2022 Ram 1500 lineup is expanding with a new G/T trim that offers a few small performance upgrades and some items borrowed from the Earth-eating TRX. Don’t get too excited, though, because this package is paired exclusively with the 5.7-liter V8 eTorque engine — no superchargers here. Available with either the Rebel or Laramie trims, the G/T package adds a cat-back exhaust and cold air intake to improve performance. Both are yanked out of the Mopar catalog, so those changes are ones you could actually do yourself. The rest is a touch more exclusive. For starters, Ram includes paddle shifters, a console-mounted gear lever (no turn dial), unique bucket seats with high bolsters and a metal pedal kit. Those are bits you get on the TRX now, so itÂ’s great to see the lower level Rams benefitting from the monster performance truck.  On the tech front, Ram includes its Performance Pages in the infotainment system. Measuring 0-60 mph times and G-forces in a regular Ram pickup seems a little silly, but now you can do both of those things and take advantage of a myriad of other capabilities afforded by those Performance Pages. You can tell the G/T models apart from others by looking for the big G/T decals on the rear fenders. All G/Ts additionally gain a unique “sport performance hood.” Lastly, you get Mopar all-season floor mats. Pricing for the Rebel G/T starts at $57,070, while the Laramie G/T starts at $57,175, both including their $1,695 destination fees.
