For those of you whom wished that the SRT division would bring back a modified Ram, this one's for you. A 392 crate motor for an SRT Challenger was dropped into the engine bay along with custom shorty headers and an 87mm throttle body. The rear end was then converted to an Eaton POSI along with a 4.56 final drive. There's now a fan assisted external transmission cooler and a water cooled oil filter assembly. The entire dyno tune and adjust was handled by the absolute best in the country, Josh at HHP and AJ of Arrington. The result? How about 404/438 at the wheels of smooth, pure power. No check engine lights, no error codes, no drama. No expense was spared and the results are amazing. This truck eats stock SRT vehicles and the Viper Ram trucks.

With the engine, tuning and driveline sorted, it was time to turn the attention to the suspension. Custom engineered RideTech coilovers with complete adjustability were added to each corner. They were adjusted via corner weighting and optimized for balance and smooth ride. To get the lowered stance but not lose any of the ride, we turned to MCG drop spindles in the front and an adjustable panhard bar in the back. The alignment is spot on and the truck rides on rails yet handles bumps like a dream. This is a $2000 suspension in shocks alone, and the feel and quality of the ride is its reward. Finishing off the handling side is a set of 22" SRT chrome truck rims with staggered tires sized at 285/45 and 305/45 in Goodyear Fortera SL. The tires are practically spotless with no abnormal wear, plugs or other drama.

Now on to the fun stuff: Cosmetics and bolt ons. We added the full fender flares and painted them to match the truck. The rear tail lamps are LED units lightly smoked and the front lights are Euro spec light smoke. There's an S&B intake, Solo Catback Exhaust, Custom Y-Pipe, Full Bed Rug and the best of class tonneau, the Undercover Lux painted the factory Mopar black.

And for the true aficionado, you'll notice that this is a three seater. How is that you say? The Ram R/T's only came with the center console. Well, a local Dodge dealer performed the swap over including the seat belts, column shifter and revised center dash cupholder. The result: The ability to safely bring two other people along for the ride with absolutely no cutting, welding or other nonsense. Nothing but factory Mopar parts all around and the interior is like it rolled off the assembly line that way.

So why you ask is such a truck for sale? Because my six month labor of love needs to find a new home. Recent events have left my business in need of the cash and my pride and joy will have to go. My hope is that she finds her way to someone that appreciates the level of difficulty it takes to build a truck like this one the right way. Anybody can cram a big motor into something but making it operate like it is from the factory, well that takes time, money and most importantly, only the best tuners and installers. This Ram has just under $20K to make her complete and the buy in from the dealer was around $30K. My rationale: A $50K ruck that can do all this, and the only one in the United States with this setup, is a bargain compared to other SRT vehicles.

So rest assured that you're buying the best from a guy that cares and has a perfect record here on Ebay. I don't sell garbage and I do what needs to be done to make the sale right for both of us. Feel free to shoot me offers as I'm highly motivated yet cautiously looking for the right buyer as well.

Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.

Ram updates 1500 and Heavy Duty trucks for the new model year

Sun, Sep 1 2019

Happy Labor Day weekend, and happy 2020 Ram truck news day. The changes for 2020 aren't huge, mostly limited to aesthetics, starting with a Night Edition package to the Big Horn and Laramie trims. A Black Appearance Package was offered for 2019, but this one is a little different. Those who choose the Night Edition won’t be limited to black paint only, meaning you can get all that black trim along with a contrasting exterior color. ItÂ’ll have a black grille, badging, exhaust tips, headlight/taillight bezels and wheels (20-inch for Big Horn, 22-inch for Laramie). The white Ram 1500 pictured here is equipped with the package. A Black Appearance package is coming to the Rebel trim, too, with 18-inch wheels, a front skid plate, front spoiler, lighting bezels, badging, tow hooks and exhaust, all finished in black. YouÂ’ll also be able to option a driver assistance package on the Rebel for 2020 that includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, auto high beams and forward collision mitigation. The 2020 Ram Heavy Duty adds a couple nice tech features. Lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, enhanced connected services and dual auxiliary camera support are all added as options for the new model year. Additionally, there are two new paint options: Olive Green and Hydro Blue. The Power Wagon doesnÂ’t change much, but there will be a new black wheel option for 2020. One final note of change for 2020 is the addition of “eTorque” badging on the hood of so-equipped Ram 1500 trucks. Previously, Ram made 1500 eTorque models indistinguishable from their non-electrified brethren.

Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup

Sat, 08 Mar 2014

Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
