Very nice example of a well cared for, adult driven 2001 Porsche Boxster.  Excellent condition with shiny/uniform black exterior and excellent black leather interior.  Extra clean and runs like a top!  Comes with owner's manual and spare tire.  Has some rock chips and scratches, as to be expected with a used vehicle, but looks great overall for a 12 year old car!  No leaks on the garage floor or interior leaks for that matter.  New Synthetic oil.  New BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires.  I purchased it from a dealer, who said it was a Speedster edition with larger brakes/rotors, wheels and sway bars front and back.  Upgraded Kenwood CD/ stereo with Bluetooth, Satelite radio ready, USB for Ipod or whatever you wish.  Has remote and faceplate is removeable. Top goes up and down with no problems.  Cruise control, power windows and electricals work. Brakes work great. Starts right up every time.  Shifts through all gears smoothly and engine just purrs!  I've owned three Boxsters in the last 12 years and this one is the most solid performing, handling and quiet riding!  What a fun car.....handles like it's on rails!  No accidents.  No smoke.  Clean title in hand. Tags are good til 9/13.  Only selling, so I can buy a Land Rover LR3 or Range Rover to haul my bikes around (can't afford two vehicles). NOW is the time to buy a convertible folks!   Car has no known issues, except noted below:

**Please note:  The keyless entry remote on the key needs to be re-initialized to the central locking system by a Porsche dealer (I live in a small town and we have no Porsche dealership here).  It worked until I opened up the key and changed out the battery, so I know it's nothing major, but now it doesn't talk to the car, so there is no way to lock it.  The fob is getting pretty worn anyway, so I would recommend getting a new key/remote and have dealer program it. It's always good to have a spare key anyway!**

Porsche 919 Hybrid revives Porsche's factory Le Mans efforts

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

After months of teasing with camouflaged testers, Porsche has finally unveiled its prototype entry for the 2014 World Endurance Championship, the 919 Hybrid. Porsche, you may recall, hasn't had campaigned a factory team at Le Mans in years, so the 919 is nothing less than their recommitment to endurance racing.
Combining a 2.0-liter V4 (yes, a V4) that revs to 9,000 rpm, the 919 produces around 500 horsepower with a pair of energy recovery systems. The first system recovers the heat energy from exhaust gasses as they pass through an electrical generator, while the second system is a bit more familiar. Using a setup similar to what is found on the production 918 Spyder, a generator on the front axle recovers kinetic energy from the brakes, which is subsequently stored in a battery system. That power can then be sent to the front wheels at the driver's command, effectively turning the 919 into an all-wheel-drive racecar.
Despite these various forms of motivation, Porsche doesn't claim to be seeking outright power supremacy, with Chairman Matthias Müller saying, "In 2014, it will not be the fastest car that wins the World Endurance Championship series and the 24 hours of Le Mans, rather it will be the car that goes the furthest with a defined amount of energy. And it is precisely this challenge that carmakers must overcome. The 919 Hybrid is our fastest mobile research laboratory and the most complex race car that Porsche has ever built."

The entire Porsche 911 history in under 90 seconds

Fri, Feb 12 2016

Over more than 50 years Porsche has taken a terrible idea - hanging an engine behind the rear wheels so that the car will try to go backwards through corners - and turned it into an automotive icon. One way that happened was keeping that unmistakable shape. As you'll see in the video above, the proportions are true to the original even with the relatively radical changes with recent models. The animation includes price and power figures, and even has the model designations, so you can keep up in conversation when a Porschephile starts rambling about random numbers.

Porsche Museum highlights history of the 911 RSR

Sat, 12 Jan 2013

Porsche has amassed quite an impressive trophy case in just about every racing series it has ever entered, and one of its most dominant machines has to be the 911 RSR from the 1970s. Taking part in various GT-class competitions, the 911 RSR managed to take home three international and seven German victories in 1973, its very first year of competition.
Not one to downplay its racing successes, Porsche has released an informative video detailing the 911 RSR's impressive heritage. The 1973 RSR model owned by the Porsche Museum is detailed beautifully on video, and we have to say it looks absolutely stunning in its vintage Martini Racing livery.
Have a look at the video below for some historic racing action, along with static shots of one of our favorite Porsche models ever created.
