2013 Porsche Boxster S W/launch Controls Pdk Chrono Premium Pkg Pvt Bose Sport on 2040-cars

Infotainment Package with BOSE speaker system
Premium Package Porsche Torque Vectoring PTV PDK Package 20" Carrera Wheels PASM Package Sport Chrono Package Sport Stearing Wheel Launch Controls Paddle Shifters Leather Premium Power Sport Seats Heated Seats Red Calipers Sport Mode Sport Plus Mode Sport Suspension Mode MSRP was $80,200!! I have the original window sticker. PLUS, I have already paid for all of the routine maintenance for the first 36,000 miles!...this transfers with the car along with the remaining Porsche warranty. I have looked online and have not been able to find another Boxster S Launch Edition with as many options as this one! There are three that come close, but are missing at least one option here or there. I am the original owner and purchased it new at Bluegrass Porsche in Louisville, KY. To tell you how loaded up this car is the MSRP was $80,200. You will notice it has the 20" 911 Wheels with red calipers and p-zero tires. The most impressive thing about this Boxster over any others is that it has Launch Controls. To active the Launch Controls you first put the car in "Sport Plus" mode (which also activates the racing suspension), then you hold the break down, put the gas pedal to the floor, wait a second for the "Launch" light to light up on the steering wheel..and then let off the gas!! I have only tried it one time and it was ridiculous. With that said, the car has NEVER been on a track or driven over 90 mph. I like all the bells and whistles, but in the end I just putz around town. The convertible top only takes 6 seconds to go up or down...and you can put it down anytime as long as you are going 25 mph or less. You will also notice in the pictures that it has Navigation (both on the screen and in a second screen next to the speedometer). The screen to the right of the speedometer scrolls between the radio, XM, iPod, Bluetooth, Phone, Navigation...it has a G-Force Gauge that measures the G-forces you are feeling in ANY direction in real time. There is also a track Chronometer in case you wanted to time yourself on a track or from 0-60. The seats are leather and are the 32-way adjustable seats (the top of the line that Porsche offers). The clock on the dash is also another track timer in addition to being a normal clock. Heated seats...XM Radio...Bluetooth, PCM "Porsche Control Management" system. There are three modes...normal...sport...and sport plus. In addition you can turn on the sport/track suspension anytime you like. The PDK Transmission is so smooth. You will notice that it has the sport steering wheel and the paddle shifters...which work better than any other car I have ever had. The car will allow you to use the paddle shifters anytime you want...but if it decides you need to shift, it will take over again automatically...this car can out think you and out shift you...there is no need to have a manual anymore. Of course it also has the premium BOSE stereo system with surround sound. I always keep it in the garage. When I purchased it, I paid for all of the routine scheduled maintenance for the first 36,000 miles. I also paid extra for the wheel and tire coverage. Since the tires are so low-profile (and expensive to replace) I wanted to make sure they were covered to be safe. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I have additional photos I can share. I do not need to sell it, and as much as I appreciate a good low ball offer (because I have made a few of those myself in the past), I love it and would keep it rather than let it go for cheap. With this one being so nice, I deserves a good home with someone who is willing to pay a reasonable price for an awesome car! :) I have the original window sticker. I could only get 24 photos on eBay, but if you would like a copy of the window sticker I am happy to email it to you. If you are wondering why I am selling it...I have small kids and need something with a back seat. If you have a 2012 - 2014 BMW 6 Series Xdrive convertible and are looking to trade, let me know. I would also consider a newer Porsche Panamara, Audi S7, Mercedes 4matic (C, CLS, or S class). Cheers, John |

2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS prowls into Geneva with biggest NA engine in the 911 range [w/video]
Tue, Mar 3 2015We've been waiting for the debut of this road-going and race-ready Porsche 911 GT3 RS for quite some time now. As is typical for high-profile sports machines, the new 911 has been foreshadowed with spy shots and information leaks aplenty, all pointing to this grand day at Geneva. Here she is. Just a glance at the duct-sliced bodywork and massive rear wing will tell you that this Porsche means business, but let's look at its bona fides. The heart of the matter, under that short rear deck, is the largest-displacement and most powerful naturally aspirated engine in the 911 family, with 500 horsepower and 338 pound-feet of torque developed by the 4.0-liter flat-six. That hoss of an engine is mated to a newly developed version of Porsche's PDK dual-clutch gearbox – with functions such as "paddle neutral" that effectively works like depressing the clutch on a standard manual, and a Pit Speed button for on the track. Working in concert, engine and trans allow the GT3 RS to sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds, hit a quarter mile in 11.2, and lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just seven minutes, 20 seconds. (That 'Ring time makes it the fastest current 911 around the benchmark course, and five seconds faster than the current 911 GT3 – so quick.) Weight has been saved via exotic materials; the car sports a magnesium roof and carbon fiber for the trunk and engine lids. Overall the RS is 22 pounds lighter than the GT3, but also boasts a lower center of gravity. As we said at the top, there's a wide, low and aggressive body kit on the GT3 RS, all engineered with racing performance in mind. That huge rear wing is balanced in the front by a deep chin spoiler, and the front wheel arches have been punctuated with vents that help to increase downforce on the front axle. The roll cage is the most obvious interior modification to let one know that this is a racing tool, but Porsche has also slathered the space in Alcantara and installed carbon-fiber bucket seats (based on those found in the 918 Spyder) to drive the point home. The cost of such racing glory will be steep at $175,900 plus a $995 destination charge, but not out of the scope of the current ask for the 911 range, when you consider that a Turbo S runs over $180k. Look for 911 GT3 RS deliveries to start in July of this year in the US, and for track days to be more competitive for the addition. All the crazy stuff we saw at McCall's Motorworks Revival
Thu, Aug 18 2016Every year, Gordon McCall puts on a lavish event packed with rare cars and planes (and the type of people that can afford rare cars and planes). And every year, more ridiculous stuff shows up. It's the good kind of machine overload. It's likely the only place in the world where you'll see a line of BMW 3.0s next to some Paganis next to a Porsche 911 by Singer Design next to a Ferrari salt racer next to a custom Olds Riviera next to the latest from Koenigsegg next to he coolest stuff Shelby ever made next to a hangar filled with McLarens, including a few P1 GTRs. And then all of that is surrounded by private jets, fighters, and planes that could have flown in directly from WWII. In a word, it's insane. Walk through the gallery above to get a taste for what was there this year for the event's 25th anniversary. Porsche revisits its remarkable SC East African Safari rally car
Wed, 09 Jul 2014Porsche and motorsports just seem to go hand-in-hand. The brand has defined itself by its ability to compete on the track with the concept that racing bred better road cars. While we are used to seeing 911s speeding along circuits around the world, the rear-engine icon's success in rallying is somewhat less well known. The Porsche Museum aims to fix that by highlighting a 911 SC that competed in the 1978 East African Safari Rally.
The 911 rally car definitely projects a '70s vibe. You wouldn't see too many racecars with a pink brush bar sliding through the stages these days, but it looks amazing. Its bank of spotlights and two, giant, hood-mounted horns definitely give away the car's purpose. Best of all, that fantastic Martini livery defines the looks of Porsche racers from this era.
The 911 SC performed well in the East African Safari Rally, but some suspension damage meant that this particular one never raced again. It's been a part of the Porsche Museum ever since. Scroll down to learn a little more about one part of the brand's off-road legacy.
