| I bought this boxster  as a project but I can't figure out what's wrong with the electrical system. It keeps turning on and off, it won't stay on, it will appear like it's flashing. The trunk/hood/window switch doesn't work and the automatic spoiler stays up, somebody told me it might be the immobilizer or body control module but I'm not sure. I know little about electronics so I'm not gonna mess with it anymore. This car needs somebody that has a substantial knowledge about Porsches. Body and paint is in very good condition, no sign of repair of paint job. Seats are worn, somebody stole the original ones and installed the junk seats on it. Stereo was taken also, appears to have been converted in to a Double DIN. Exhaust muffler/resonator missing but the pipes are there. Before I got the car, the following parts has been replaced: new water pump, new thermostat, serpentine belt, tensioner, idler pulley, alternator, new clutch kit, new clutch slave cylinder, new rear main seal/rear crankshaft oil seal, new IMS bearing. I didn't get to start the car because of the electrical problem. Car is sold as NOT RUNNING, car is sold "AS IS" without warranty, no return and absolutely no refund. CLEAR TX title in hand and in MY NAME ready for the new owner. Valid TX registration until 7/2015, license plates will be removed when sold. This is the BOXSTER S witha KBB value of $14,000 when repaired, most parts available on ebay or at car-part.com.  Please asked questions or come and inspect the car before bidding. Serious bidders only, I pay $55 to list the car, have your funds ready before bidding. Shipping the sole responsibility of the buyer but I will assist with the loading. For questions, please txt: 8175592426... thank you for bidding. |

Porsche Cayman GT4 spot has us reaching for our driving gloves
Wed, Feb 4 2015We've got to hand it to Porsche for finally unleashing the potential of the Cayman, and not worrying about it infringing on 911 territory. The latest Cayman is, by all accounts, a superb sports car in its own right, gets even better as the Cayman S and that much more so in GTS spec. But the new Cayman GT4 takes things to a whole other level with a 3.8-liter flat six driving 385 horsepower to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual. Old school is what it is, and certifiably off the leash. We brought you the full skinny on the new GT4 late last night when it surfaced, but now Porsche has released a video clip highlighting what makes its new pocket rocket look so great. It's got Nurburgring graffiti, intimidated neighbors, barking fluffy dogs, gape-jawed children, and of course footage of the Cayman GT4 itself doing what it was designed to do. All we need now is to get our driving gloves on its Alcantara steering wheel and ball-shaped shifter.
Porsche 911 GT2 RS vs. Mercedes SLS AMG Black in battle of who can shred more rubber
Fri, 04 Apr 2014We might be looking at the end of an era in European performance models. Mercedes-Benz is doing away with the SLS in favor of a rumored smaller and cheaper SLC, and Porsche has said that a new 911 GT2 isn't necessarily a sure thing, which means another 911 GT2 RS is even farther away. In its latest video, Evo's Jethro Bovingdon pits the ultimate versions of these German sports coupes against each other and finds two of the fastest cars the magazine has ever lapped around its track.
In one corner, there is the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series that sits as the pinnacle of the company's halo model. It relies on the classic setup of a V8 mounted in front powering the rear wheels. On the other side, there is the 911 GT2 RS with a turbocharged flat-six mounted at the back, spinning the rear wheels. It was conceived to be Porsche's ultimate expression of a turbocharged 911, and while it's a few years old, Bovingdon shows that it's up to the task of racing a more modern rival.
Both of these rear-wheel-drive monsters are more than capable of some fantastically smoky power-slides, but they also show how great the last generation of sports cars was. Scroll down to check out the video.
Porsche tipped to reveal purist's 911 R in Geneva
Thu, Jan 21 2016Update: The 911 R dam has broken well ahead of its official reveal at Geneva. Stay tuned for full coverage, but take a look at this image from Twitter user @PistonHeads and let us know what you think in the comments below. This content is hosted by a third party. With much of the 911 family going turbo, there's room in the lineup for a purist's Porsche: a naturally-aspirated, rear-drive, manual-only model that'll essentially be a stripped-down GT3. The latest reports indicate that this model, initially expected to be called the 911 GT but now more likely to get the 911 R moniker, will be unveiled in Geneva. It's also tipped to wear skinnier tires that will sacrifice grip for a more linear driving experience, and jettison the big wings in favor of a sleeker, more classic profile. What that all boils down to is a GT3 in its essence, and it will likely pack the non-turbo engine from either the GT3 or GT3 RS (pictured above) – or some version thereof. Recall that both the GT3 and the GT3 RS are PDK-only, although Porsche has decided that the next-generation GT3 should give customers the option of shifting for themselves. According to Motoring.com.au, which recently spoke to 911 product line manager August Achleitner, the purist's 911 will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show less than two months from now. "Come to Geneva and you'll find out," said Achleitner "but for now this is all I can talk about." Don't get your hopes up too much, because production is expected to be severely limited, with the entire production run likely to be pre-sold. Related Video:
