THIS CAR MUST BE EXPERIENCED IN REAL WORLD CONDITIONS TO BE APPRECIATED...

Tiptronic works... stick shifting does NOT in real world conditions..

Guys I Will NOT SHOW THIS CAR TO A FIRST TIME TIP DRIVER.. If you have not tried the tiptronic and mastered it you are missing the joy of real world fun.. There is a reason that the fastest cars including Porsche's and Formula 1 drivers use shifting on the wheel instead of grabbing the stick between the seats... speed..

I have adapted, along with ABS, and other electronic gismo's..   Sure I love Tradition, but for Day to Day GET A TRIP.. NOT A STICK...

Pot holes, city stop and go with iphone texting... THE majority of the GREATEST WORLD CLASS CARS I'VE owned or HAVE OWNED ME. Not this one.. its a dream without headaches....  Cheap to operate and keep in the prime.. There is a reason this is the Malibu Car

Used for highway roadtrips... Average long term Speed is over 40MPH.. check others and you'll find 17 MPH is average... cruising highway miles pedigrees..

26 MPG HIGHWAY. TOP UP QUIET AND TOP DOWN CLEAN NO BUFFETING

SIMPLE EASY, RELIABLE, AND CHEAP (relative to most)

WHEN THE PAVEMENT GETS TWISTY and EMPTY, YOU CAN EXPERIENCE MID ENGINE THRILLS WITHOUT wasting $ on a FERRARI 458

MID ENGINES ROCK.. and TIPTRONIC REALLY DOES THE TRICK... came from a 3 generation Porsche family and love caring for Porsche's.

ONLY GET AN S MODEL with this transmission.

New Brakes,75% on  Tires,  and new Water cooler put in 4000 highway miles ago.. NEVER EVER OVERHEATED

Ex-F1 driver Mark Webber has tough life, shakes down Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Fri, Apr 24 2015

It's good work if you can get it, and Mark Webber has got it. The works driver for the Porsche World Endurance Championship Team was apparently asked to moonlight in a video shoot for the company's new 911 GT3 RS at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and what do you know, he complied. They don't appear to be going too quickly, and a racing driver asked to rein in what will be one of the most blistering cars we'll see this year must be very serious work, because Webber doesn't appear to be smiling at all. We'll guess there's a big smile on the inside, though, and some tales to tell to his Porsche teammates at the next WEC race. Maybe the next time we see the 911 GT3 RS at the 'Ring, it will be doing the timed lap we're all waiting for. Related Video:

Porsche considering turbo for new GT3 RS [w/poll]

Tue, 03 Jun 2014

Some automakers make one hardcore version of a sports car and are done with it. Or at least they make one at a time. Think Ferrari 458 Speciale, Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (or Super Trofeo Stradale or Squadra Corse) or Maserati GranTurismo MC. But not Porsche. It transforms the 911 into the hard-core GT3, the even harder-core GT3 RS, the you've-got-to-be-psychotic GT2 and the do-you-have-a-death-wish GT2 RS. The RS models take things to a further extreme, but what separates GT3 from GT2 models has traditionally been the use of foced induction: GT3s are naturally aspirated, while GT2s go turbo. But that could all be about to change.
According to the rumors making their round of the webosphere, Porsche is considering using a turbocharged engine for the next GT3 RS. The reason is that, as we all know, Porsche has already pushed the 3.8-liter flat-six in the existing GT3 about as far as it can go, and then some. And buyers expect not only a more bare-bones package with the GT3 RS, but also a bit of extra power.
Given that everything seems to be going turbo these days, the move might make some measure of sense, especially if Porsche wants to avoid with the GT3 RS the spontaneous combustion issues it faced with the GT3. But we can't help but wonder why, at that point, it wouldn't just skip the GT3 RS and go straight for the GT2.

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet spotted testing in the nude

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

The Porsche 911 wouldn't be the Porsche 911 unless there were twenty-something different models to choose from (note: we are not complaining), and the latest one was just spied by our trusty photographers out on Germany's Nürburgring. Feast your eyes on the 911 Turbo Cabriolet - the droptop version of the new Turbo wonder that debuted in May - looking all sorts of stealth in its black-on-black-on-black prototype scheme.
Mechanically, the 911 Turbo Cab should be identical to the fixed-roof version, meaning a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine will live in the car's rump, putting out something like 520 horsepower. Of course, there's also the hotter Turbo S version of the coupe, and we expect that to get the droptop treatment, as well, with 560 horsepower on tap. The added weight of the folding top and additional structural supports will likely make for slightly slower 0-60 times for both cars, though considering the base Turbo will hit 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds, "slower" is a very relative term indeed. All that force will run to the ground via all-wheel drive, managed by Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
The wide stance of the 911 Turbo Coupe carries over to the Cabriolet, no doubt fitted with the same (standard) 20-inch wheels. Inside, the usual luxury amenities will be on hand, along with nearly endless customization options.
