For auction is two Porsche Boxsters in order to make one.  The black one is a great rolling 2001 Boxster S chassis with complete S suspension still installed, all main wiring harness installed with NO cuts to any wires, All abs system is intact, no brake lines were cut or damaged. Fuel system is all intact, with no fuel lines cut. Body is in nice shape, but has some small dings, that can easily be repaired. Please see pictures as to what is still in place and what is not. This Porsche would be a great start for a race car or if you have a wrecked car and want a clean title S body. This black car hasn't been in any accidents, the car had engine failure and is now in its current condition. Car has only 66,171 miles on chassis, and clean car fax. The yellow one is a regular 2002 Boxster 2.7L which was complete without accidents as well but the title is non-rebuildable.  The yellow is missing right now the seats and a left rear quarter panel was cut to fix another one (not the black one).  The original yellow front and rear bumper covers were sold and now I have a rear white one which needs repair and a fiberglass front one that I was planning to cut and customize as a GT2.  This is a project to take the power train and parts from the yellow one and install in the black Boxster S.  I was going to do it but now I have other plans.  With the money you sell the extra parts of the yellow that the black one don't need you can make money for the seats, etc.  The Black Boxster is missing the steering wheel but you can exchange the one in the yellow (which I will leave loose) for loading and unloading.  The cluster of the yellow has about 82K miles.  The extra parts you can sell are the front hood, doors, front fenders, wheels, tires in good shape, and even the chassis, etc.   There are some parts that look missing in the yellow Boxster like the gauge cluster, trunk carpets and the passenger door panel but I have them. Please ask any question you have. I was planning to install a turbo kit in the car just to increase the horsepower and response (even more than a Boxster S), so basically you could have a Boxster S for cheap if you are willing to exchange the parts.  You don't need an engine lift because it gets out from the bottom.  The vehicles are offered locally for sale.  I have the right to stop the auction if the reserve price have not been met.  I'm loosing money in this deal but I need them out of my garage ASAP.

Top Gear drag races VW Golf R against McLaren 675LT and Porsche 911

Thu, Apr 7 2016

Top Gear's latest quarter-mile drag race in the collects three very different performance vehicles: the 296-horsepower Volkswagen Golf R, 424-hp Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, and 666-hp McLaren 675LT. While each of these cars sit near the top of their segment, they each come from totally different rungs of the sports car price ladder. Spoiler alert, the Golf R doesn't win. But the final results illustrate the diminishing returns of price and performance. For example, the McLaren is only about a second quicker than the Porsche to 60 miles per hour, but the 675LT costs over 2.5 times more that the GTS. Related Video:

Porsche is planning a hybrid version of the 911

Fri, Mar 11 2016

Changes at Porsche are coming thick and hot. It's been a few decades since the last major engine technology change – the very dramatic shift from air- to water-cooling. Now we're seeing a turbo shift, in which even pedestrian 911s, Caymans, and Boxsters are being fitted with turbos. Next up is hybrid proliferation throughout the manufacturer's full range. Hybrids aren't new to the Porsche lineup, of course. The Panamera hybrid has appeared in two forms, one in 2012 and one in 2015. Likewise, the Cayenne hybrid was recently upgraded to plug-in spec. The 918 Spyder is also a plug-in hybrid. The 911, Cayman, and Boxster have been left off the hybridization program so far, but that's about to change. The 911 is "next in line" for hybrid tech, says Lutz Meschke, a board member at Porsche AG. That means we'll likely see a hybrid 911 before the fully-electric production Mission E arrives. Every Porsche model will eventually get a gas-electric option, so the Macan crossover and 718 Boxster and Cayman will follow the iconic sports car's lead soon. The turbocharged base 911 has fractured critical opinion somewhat, although we loved our first drive of the 2017 911 Carrera with its twin-turbo flat-six engine. Porsche's baby Panamera delayed until 2019 or later

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

If you're enticed by the idea of a Porsche sedan but find the Panamera to be too big, your hopes may have been raised by the development of the so-called Pajun. But don't get those hopes up too much, because the latest word coming in from the Old World has it that the Panamera Junior has been delayed.
The Pajun was (and theoretically still is, despite tardiness) a project to apply to the Panamera the same winning formula that Porsche used to transmute the Cayenne into the smaller Macan. Its size would be closer to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class than the larger Panamera, and employ an array of six-cylinder engines.
The smaller five-door was set to be the cornerstone of Porsche Product Strategy 2018, a plan that included several new models to be launched within the next four years. However, reports now indicate that the Volkswagen Group is counting on Porsche to help bolster its profits and is not keen on investing in new products at this time, pushing the Pajun and other projects back until 2019 at the earliest. Although much of the strategy remains undisclosed, it is believed to include (or have included) a sub-Boxster sports car and a supercar to slot in between the 911 and the 918 Spyder. There was also talk of a shooting brake version of the Panamera based on the Sport Turismo concept pictured above. What will become of those projects, however, remains to be seen.
