Engine Start Up/Exhaust This is a no reserve auction from a member with over 15 years of perfect feedback. Bid with confidence but please do your due diligence first if you have questions. I will be as prompt and detailed as I can be with my replies. If you would like any more pictures I can do that as well. Thanks in advance and good luck! Let me start out by saying that this is an amazing ride. To my knowledge, it has never been on a track and I feel confident based on what my mechanic has told me that most if not all the miles are adult driven. This car has been babied. I didnt do any of the modifications outside of the new rims and tires. Nearly everything I know is due to research on the original owner and from the professional appraisal I had done for insurance purposes. Including the purchase price of the car over $160,000 has been invested in this beauty. I cant go anywhere without people taking pictures and asking me about it. This is a heavily modified 2006 Porsche Cayman Techart GTS (Originally a stock Cayman S) with LOTS of upgrades both for looks and performance. This car has been used as a model for advertising some of the custom parts listed below. This car has been professionally appraised and insured for nearly $60,000 (See attached picture...I can provide more appraisal pics if needed). I am going to to my best to list all of the features of this car and anything else I feel a potential buyer should know. I copied and pasted all of the typical Cayman S options at the bottom and changed what fit my car but Im going to manually list all of the nontypical upgrades here: Here are the performance upgrades. 1. X51 3.8L Cold Air Intake Upgrade-See Pics ($4000)2. TPC X51 Clutch/Lightweight Flywheel ($2800)3. Softronic Tune (Depends on shop but costly)4. Underdrive Lightweight Pulley ($200)5. Lowered and upgraded suspension using Techart lowering springs (I dont believe it has coilovers) (3 inches of clearance at the lowest $3500) The suspension is very stiff and the car handles like a go kart.6. ARP Stainless Steel Exhaust with supporting software and Sound box muffler tip added for aggressive sound (see video above) Here are the appearance upgrades that I can think to put: 1. Techart Front Bumper Cover ($4,500)2. Techart Hood Badge ($330)3. Techart Mirror Caps (Carbon Fiber) ($400)4. Techart Ultrabright multifunction LED running lights ($1500)5. Techart GTS Rear Spoiler with Carbon Fiber ($3500)6. GT3 Grill ($50)7. Porsche Seatbelt Covers ($10)8. Kenwood DNX6140 Touchscreen Player and Back Up Camera with remote (Originally $749...not sure now)9. Brand New 20 Victor Zehn Staggered Wheels ($1300)10. 245/30ZR20 low profile Michelin Super Sport Tires with lots of tread life left (Over 90-95%-$1000)11. Custom Painted Roof ($500)12. Custom Clear and Acrylic Engine Cover ($650)13. 2009+ rear bumper with LED Tail Lights ($1000+)14. LED Pilot Sidemarkers ($100)15. LED Engine Lighting ($50)16. Porsche Red Brake Calipers ($2200)17. Brand New Prismatic Headliner (Just installed 06/29) ($300)18. HID conversion foglight kit ICE HID bulb kit ($200)19. Xtec license plate LEDs ($20) Keep in mind that most of these prices are what these parts cost NOW, not how much they cost when they were bought and also, they do not include installation. Its in perfect mechanical condition and in excellent physical condition especially since it just had its 10th birthday. There are of course the occasional tiny tiny nicks in the paint but cosmetically Id give it a 9.5/10 on the outside. 10/10 on the inside. At this point Id like to open up the floor for questions. I am a teacher and have the summer off so I have plenty of time for serious buyers. I will be available to help arrange shipping but you must handle all of that. I paid to get it shipped here to Texas when I bought it and now its someone elses turn. IF IF IF the price goes over $35,000, I will include the following pictured above (If Im getting rid of the car, Id like to get rid of the gear as well so Im not THAT guy) If it ends at 34,999, no deal...sorry!:1 Porsche Design Black Polo-Large ($105)1 Porsche Keychain ($5)1 Porsche Wallet ($27)1 Porsche Design Martini Racing Jacket-Large ($125)1 Set of Porsche Cufflinks ($15)1 Porsche Design Black Flexfit Hat ($40)1 Porsche Design Martini Racing Hat-One Size Fits All ($40)1 Porsche Leather Cleaner ($18 used once)1 Leather Conditioner ($15 used once)1 Fitted Cayman Car Cover ($60 NOT OEM!)1 Porsche White Touch Up Paint Bottle ($10 unopened)1 Porsche Clear Coat Touch Up Paint Bottle ($15 unopened)1 Set of GT3 Decals ($8 unused)1 Porsche Design Adidas Jacket-Large ($200)1 Porsche Design Watch I have all the maintenance records since I have owned the vehicle. As you can imagine it has been babied and garage kept. I have only put less than 5,000 miles on it in nearly two and a half years. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. I dont know everything about the car but what I do know, I will gladly pass on quickly. The art of being teammates

Thu, May 12 2016

Returning home from a successful event for our CJ Wilson Racing team I couldn't help to think about just how many people are involved to support the drivers that stand on the podium. Friends of 15 to 20 years are actively involved in my life in motorsports and it amazes me daily. I'd like to think that I possess the right blend of passion and humility to make racing for a living a successful career, and each year the ups and downs of motorsports takes a toll on even the savviest racer. Having been a race driver for the past several years, I had long ago stopped taking for granted just how important friendships & relationships are in life. In motorsports we have a large array of relationships we build, from the perspectives of business, crew, competitors, spectators and of course, teammates. For any young racer or driver that is struggling to stay an integral part of the racing community, I can't stress enough just how important relationship building is and in our world of multi-class & multi-driver line-ups, the "teammate" is a big one. Now in my fifth year with CJ Wilson Racing, I started the season with my 10th different teammate, most of which, came in the first season as we were developing into a program that could operate a two-car effort. These are people that I have coached, improved with and become, in a way, brothers. Most I consider friends, people I actively stay in touch with – not out of obligation, but because they are like family to me. They have been a teammate – and in this industry and our series in particular – there has to be something more cohesive than just sharing a car. Standing on the podium with all of your teammates like we did in this year in Monterey (our #33 ONE Capital / MotorOilMatters and #35 Safecraft Safety Equipment Porsche Caymans finished 2nd and 3rd) is one of those moments that you don't forget, in part, because you get to share it with ones you typically spend the most time. I watched both Danny Burkett and Till Bechtolsheimer go to the front after the green dropped and drive perfect opening stints. Sure, while cameras were rolling I played it cool, but as soon as they turned away I was a beacon of giddy pride like I was watching a little brother riding his bike without training wheels for the first time. When it came my turn to get behind the wheel, I knew that one of my closest friends, Tyler McQuarrie, would be in our sister car.

2017 Porsche Panamera revealed: It's finally pretty

Tue, Jun 28 2016

Things are looking up for the Porsche Panamera. Dynamically, it's always been good – fast, comfortable, and much more spacious than something like a 911 – but the general consensus is that the first-gen Panamera's styling was, shall we say, less successful. All that changes for the second-generation car. Despite being longer, wider, and taller than before, it's much more attractive, with a lower roofline that sweeps back toward the rear haunches with a pleasing arc. There's a clear styling link to Porsche's mainstay, the 911. The new Panamera's body is made mostly from aluminum, minus some high-strength steel and the optional large, panoramic roof overhead. LED lighting elements front and rear look suitably up-to-date, especially the interconnected design of the taillights. Wheels range from 19 inches to 21, with 20s standard on the Turbo. Porsche isn't just recalling its current sports car with the new Panamera. The central tachometer is designed to evoke the one in the 1955 356 A, more colloquially known as the Speedster. Beside that one analog throwback, however, the latest Panamera is fully modern and technologically advanced. Two seven-inch screens flank the tach, and the Porsche Advanced Cockpit includes a 12.3-inch tablet-like touchscreen in front of the driver. Apple CarPlay is available, but there's no mention of Android Auto. A new thermal imaging camera makes it easier to see in the dark. A completely new range of engines powers the second-gen Panamera, starting with a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 that puts out 440 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. In the Panamera 4S, that's enough to launch the saloon to 60 in 4.4 seconds (4.2 with the optional Sport Chrono Package) and to hit a top speed of 180 miles per hour. The Panamera Turbo boasts a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 with 550 hp and 567 lb-ft. The 0–60 run takes just 3.6 seconds (3.4 with Sport Chrono) and the top speed is 190 mph. Both the 4S and the Turbo come with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. Much of the chassis tech from the last Panamera is carried over, including Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, and active roll stabilization. The available active air suspension has been updated with a three-chamber design. The 2017 model adds rear-wheel steering as an option, borrowed from the 911 line.

Audi rumored to leave top-tier endurance racing after 2017

Fri, Oct 14 2016

Volkswagen's ongoing diesel scandal is turning out to be an expensive problem for the German automaker. With a recent settlement expected to cost the company up to $14.7 billion, the company is scrambling to find ways to save cash. In light of this, Audi could be pulling out of the highest class of endurance racing, which it has dominated for years. A report from Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, indicates that Audi has already finalized the automaker's departure from the World Endurance Championship's top-tier LMP1 class after the 2017 season. Another report by Autocar cites an unnamed insider to corroborate the LMP1 exit rumors. The report fingers the VW Group's ongoing diesel scandal's financial fallout as the main culprit for Audi bowing out of LMP1. The move to could also be due to the group's decision to move away from diesel technology. Audi's LMP1 car, the R18, utilizes a V6 turbo-diesel engine. The Porsche 919 Hybrid, on the other hand, uses 2.0-liter turbocharged V4 engine that runs on gasoline. Audi has won the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans 13 times since 1999, making Audi an unstoppable force in endurance racing. Porsche, Audi's corporate sibling, reentered endurance racing with a LMP1 competitor of its own in 2014 and won the constructor's championship last year. Audi's decision to leave LMP1 could give Porsche a shot at creating its own Le Mans-winning dynasty. Autocar reports that Audi is expected to continue fielding cars in other WEC classes, like GT3 and GT4, and perhaps the brand will even enter Formula E. We reached out to Audi for some clarification on the matter and a spokesperson stated that the rumors were "pure speculation at this point."
