Engine Start Up/Exhaust This is a no reserve auction from a member with over 15 years of perfect feedback. Bid with confidence but please do your due diligence first if you have questions. I will be as prompt and detailed as I can be with my replies. If you would like any more pictures I can do that as well. Thanks in advance and good luck! Let me start out by saying that this is an amazing ride. To my knowledge, it has never been on a track and I feel confident based on what my mechanic has told me that most if not all the miles are adult driven. This car has been babied. I didnt do any of the modifications outside of the new rims and tires. Nearly everything I know is due to research on the original owner and from the professional appraisal I had done for insurance purposes. Including the purchase price of the car over $160,000 has been invested in this beauty. I cant go anywhere without people taking pictures and asking me about it. This is a heavily modified 2006 Porsche Cayman Techart GTS (Originally a stock Cayman S) with LOTS of upgrades both for looks and performance. This car has been used as a model for advertising some of the custom parts listed below. This car has been professionally appraised and insured for nearly $60,000 (See attached picture...I can provide more appraisal pics if needed). I am going to to my best to list all of the features of this car and anything else I feel a potential buyer should know. I copied and pasted all of the typical Cayman S options at the bottom and changed what fit my car but Im going to manually list all of the nontypical upgrades here: Here are the performance upgrades. 1. X51 3.8L Cold Air Intake Upgrade-See Pics ($4000)2. TPC X51 Clutch/Lightweight Flywheel ($2800)3. Softronic Tune (Depends on shop but costly)4. Underdrive Lightweight Pulley ($200)5. Lowered and upgraded suspension using Techart lowering springs (I dont believe it has coilovers) (3 inches of clearance at the lowest $3500) The suspension is very stiff and the car handles like a go kart.6. ARP Stainless Steel Exhaust with supporting software and Sound box muffler tip added for aggressive sound (see video above) Here are the appearance upgrades that I can think to put: 1. Techart Front Bumper Cover ($4,500)2. Techart Hood Badge ($330)3. Techart Mirror Caps (Carbon Fiber) ($400)4. Techart Ultrabright multifunction LED running lights ($1500)5. Techart GTS Rear Spoiler with Carbon Fiber ($3500)6. GT3 Grill ($50)7. Porsche Seatbelt Covers ($10)8. Kenwood DNX6140 Touchscreen Player and Back Up Camera with remote (Originally $749...not sure now)9. Brand New 20 Victor Zehn Staggered Wheels ($1300)10. 245/30ZR20 low profile Michelin Super Sport Tires with lots of tread life left (Over 90-95%-$1000)11. Custom Painted Roof ($500)12. Custom Clear and Acrylic Engine Cover ($650)13. 2009+ rear bumper with LED Tail Lights ($1000+)14. LED Pilot Sidemarkers ($100)15. LED Engine Lighting ($50)16. Porsche Red Brake Calipers ($2200)17. Brand New Prismatic Headliner (Just installed 06/29) ($300)18. HID conversion foglight kit ICE HID bulb kit ($200)19. Xtec license plate LEDs ($20) Keep in mind that most of these prices are what these parts cost NOW, not how much they cost when they were bought and also, they do not include installation. Its in perfect mechanical condition and in excellent physical condition especially since it just had its 10th birthday. There are of course the occasional tiny tiny nicks in the paint but cosmetically Id give it a 9.5/10 on the outside. 10/10 on the inside. At this point Id like to open up the floor for questions. I am a teacher and have the summer off so I have plenty of time for serious buyers. I will be available to help arrange shipping but you must handle all of that. I paid to get it shipped here to Texas when I bought it and now its someone elses turn. IF IF IF the price goes over $35,000, I will include the following pictured above (If Im getting rid of the car, Id like to get rid of the gear as well so Im not THAT guy) If it ends at 34,999, no deal...sorry!:1 Porsche Design Black Polo-Large ($105)1 Porsche Keychain ($5)1 Porsche Wallet ($27)1 Porsche Design Martini Racing Jacket-Large ($125)1 Set of Porsche Cufflinks ($15)1 Porsche Design Black Flexfit Hat ($40)1 Porsche Design Martini Racing Hat-One Size Fits All ($40)1 Porsche Leather Cleaner ($18 used once)1 Leather Conditioner ($15 used once)1 Fitted Cayman Car Cover ($60 NOT OEM!)1 Porsche White Touch Up Paint Bottle ($10 unopened)1 Porsche Clear Coat Touch Up Paint Bottle ($15 unopened)1 Set of GT3 Decals ($8 unused)1 Porsche Design Adidas Jacket-Large ($200)1 Porsche Design Watch I have all the maintenance records since I have owned the vehicle. As you can imagine it has been babied and garage kept. I have only put less than 5,000 miles on it in nearly two and a half years. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. I dont know everything about the car but what I do know, I will gladly pass on quickly. 5 highlights from the 2018 Petersen Automotive Museum Auction
Fri, Nov 30 2018From the avant garde exterior design to the collection of vehicles between the walls, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is one of the coolest car museums in the U.S., and possibly the world. Among several others, the Petersen has two featured exhibits, The Porsche Effect and Legends of L.A. But the museum has a different type of viewing coming up at which you could touch, or even buy, a variety of special vehicles. After hosting its SoCal auction on the coast in Santa Monica for several years, RM Sotheby's has moved the event to the more central location of the museum. In addition to several works of art, the auction which takes place the weekend of December 7, will show several dozens of blue-chip vehicles, chosen by RM Sotheby's 30 car specialists. After sorting through lots that range from microcars to new-age supercars, here are five of the highlights that caught our eyes. 1956 Ferrari 290 MM by Scaglietti Projected Value: $22,000,000-$26,000,000 Without question, this is the crown jewel of the entire show. As the eldest and most experienced of the 11 total Ferrari lots, its estimated value of $26 million is more than five times the values of the other five cars listed below combined. From the jump, Ferrari threw the 290 into the line of fire. Starting its life with a four-cylinder 860 Monza engine and a Tipo 520 chassis, its first race was the Mille Miglia. Peter Collins was behind the wheel and racing photographer Louis Klemantaski was his copilot. Ferrari took the top five spots in the race, with this car, chassis No. 0628, finishing second. It went on to see multiple races and took on multiple forms, including a V12 swap at one point. After switching through the hands of multiple owners, it was sent to Ferrari Classiche in Maranello, where it was restored to its form at the time of the 1957 12 Hours of Sebring. It retains its original chassis, original bodywork, and original transmission, and houses the V12 from its 290 MM spec. The restoration was completed in 2015, and the car remains in incredible shape today. 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV by Bertone Projected Value: $2,100,000-$2,500,000 Simply put, the Miura is one of the most significant supercars, and therefore one of the most important cars, of all time. Its two-seat, mid-engined configuration seismically shifted what a performance could and should look like, and its V12 gave it the power to be the fastest car in the world when it debuted.
2015 Porsche Cayenne spotted with facelift
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Although it's only been a few years since the current Porsche Cayenne was introduced, Porsche seems to be working on a midcycle update for its big SUV possibly in time to welcome the smaller Macan. As seen in these recent spy shots, it looks like the Cayenne will be getting a minor face- and butt-lift, but it's hard to say what other changes are in store or when the updated model will hit showrooms.
Up front, expect the Cayenne's new face to resemble what was just revealed on the 2014 Panamera, and we could also see this SUV using some of the new engines introduced on the Panamera including the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 or maybe even the E-Hybrid model. We're guessing that the new Cayenne could debut sometime next year likely for the 2015 model year. In the meantime, check out the gallery of spy shots above.
2017 Porsche 911 Carrera First Drive [w/video]
Mon, Nov 16 2015The second seismic shift in the history of the Porsche 911 is happening as you read this. The first came in the late 1990s, when air cooling was thrown out and a more modern, water-cooled setup was put in place. People freaked out, and prices of air-cooled 911s are now skyrocketing. But I'll argue that this second major change is an even bigger deal: The free-breathing, naturally aspirated engine is gone, in its place a smaller, more powerful, turbocharged lump. But there's no need to panic. Purists be damned; "no replacement for displacement" shouters be silenced. This forced-induction heart beats beautifully in the 911's rump. I'm behind the wheel of a 2017 911 Carrera S coupe, stopped at the base of a winding mountain road on Tenerife, the largest of the Spanish-owned Canary Islands off the northwest coast of Africa. A nearly identical 911 is ahead of me, piloted by one of Porsche's test drivers. The road is closed. Hired spotters watch the corners. I'm about to run up the mountain at full charge, Porsche's expert leading the way. This forced-induction heart beats beautifully in the 911's rump. Behind me is the new engine: a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six. At idle, it still has that unmistakably Porsche, horizontally opposed hum. I've got 420 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque to work with, increases of 20 hp and 43 lb-ft compared to the old 3.8-liter, naturally aspirated six. If I launch it, I'll hit 60 miles per hour in under four seconds. Power is routed through the Porsche Doppelkupplung transmission – the best dual-clutch tranny in the business – and the fat, 305-section Pirelli PZero tires out back get all that thrust to the ground. There's a strong engine noise, complemented by the sound of the turbos sucking in air via the intakes just below the rear window. And then there's the exhaust. The standard Carrera comes with two large outlets and the Carrera S replaces those with quad pipes. But I've got the optional sport exhaust, not pictured on the car you see here, with two round outlets moved toward the center of the 911's hiney. Not only do they look way cooler, they're a treat for the ears. The Spanish may have decided to tunnel through many of Tenerife's mountainsides, but the pleasure of punching the throttle and letting the exhaust sing easily makes up for any loss of scenic views. The Carrera S' full 368 lb-ft is available right from 1,700 rpm, and there's no lag prior to arrival.
