Up for auction is perhaps the finest Cayman R for sale in the United States today!  I am the second owner of this awesome machine which is destined to become a mid-engine classic.  This is a 2012 Porsche Cayman R 987 6-speed in brilliant Basalt Black Metallic over Sand Beige full leather interior.  I purchased this vehicle through a business lease from Gaudin Porsche Las Vegas in January 2013 with 4331 miles on it.  The previous and original owner was an older gentleman who purchased the vehicle from this same dealership in 2012.  The vehicle has spent its entire life in Las Vegas and has been meticulously maintained with the renowned certified Porsche mechanics at Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas.  Last maintenance was in October of 2013 in which it passed the Porsche world class inspection and received oil and filter change with the bi-annual hydraulic brake system flush at 8495 miles.

Please see below for equipment, options, detailed pictures, and YouTube walkaround video as well as Roadfly.com Cayman R test drive and car review.  Briefly this Cayman R is completely stock and unmodified, as it should be, just as it was when shipped to the USA from the Porsche factory in Stuttgart, Germany.  It has 15005 miles on it at present and has been my daily driver for the past 1.5 years under a business lease through my occupation as a physician.  It has never been tracked and comes heavily optioned with full sand beige leather interior, PCM with Navigation, heated seats, 19” Turbo II wheels, sound package plus, air conditioning, and Sport Chrono package.  I have the original window sticker from 2012 with the full list of standard equipment and options including the total purchase price with options at $84,690.  It is currently under factory warranty through 2016 or 50K miles.

In my 1.5 years of ownership I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of driving what I consider the best pure 2-seat sports car in existence today.  The connection to the road and the absolute control of the mid-engine platform with the 6-speed manual transmission is stunning and effortless.  From the moment I first drove this Cayman R through a mountain pass outside Las Vegas I knew how special this car really was.  I have owned a 1997 Acura NSX and a 2010 Mustang Shelby GT500 and neither vehicle approaches the refinement, balance, and power of this incredibly engineered machine.  Average mpg is rated 19-27, and I have averaged 25.1mpg over my ownership tenure.  My only reason for selling at this time is that I am looking to purchase a home in Las Vegas and need to free up the funds to make this purchase and my favorite toy has to go.  I am more than willing to discuss any questions you may have about the vehicle and all service records are available at Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas if requested.  Please message me through ebay and we can discuss over email or by phone any questions or concerns.  The vehicle is also for sale locally and I may end the auction early if a buyer is found before the auction closes.  Current mileage is a little over 15K miles and that number may rise by 100 or so miles during this 10 day auction, however once a buyer is found it will be kept in my garage until arrangements are made to either pick up the vehicle in person or have it shipped at the new owner's expense.  In terms of payment, I will accept payment of cash in person or wire transfer.  Once the funds have cleared, I will overnight payment to Porsche Financial Services in New York and once the lien is cleared and title released I will release it to the buyer along with the vehicle.  Good luck with bidding!

Watch the Porsche 911 R rip through the mountains

Thu, Mar 3 2016

A few days ago, the top-tier driver's Porsches, the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, were the only game in town. Both are exclusively equipped with the technically excellent PDK, a dual-clutch gearbox virtually without equal. Of course, lots of folks, including Porsche die-hards, wanted to do it themselves, even if human shifts came at the expense of milliseconds of shift time. Porsche listened. You read all about the new 911 R two days ago when it was announced (if not, watch the video and then dive into the particulars at that link). It's an unabashed gift to that vocal minority. The folks that wanted a manual GT3 got one, and it's better than that. It's a throwback to the original 911 R, stripped of weight and unsightly aero bits like the massive rear wing of the GT3. There's even houndstooth-patterned cloth on the sport seats. It's a brilliant homage, without being overly retro. But how does it sound, and look in motion? See for yourself. We humbly suggest minding where the drool lands. Related Video: Porsche Coupe Performance Videos 911 porsche 911 r 911 r

McLaren boss' exclusive Porsche 935 Street is worth three 911 Turbos

Wed, 21 May 2014

McLarens may be exclusive, but there are still hundreds - if not thousands - of people out there who can say they own one. Mansour Ojjeh is one of them, but he doesn't just own a McLaren - he owns McLaren. As in, the company that makes the racing and exotic supercars. Or 25 percent of it, anyway. As the head of Techniques d'Avant Garde, Ojjeh is one of the British outfit's largest shareholders, previously having owned Heuer watches (before selling it to luxury giant LVMH) and engineered Porsche's most successful foray into Formula One - winning the world drivers' championship three times in a row and the constructors' title twice with Alain Prost and Niki Lauda behind the wheel of McLarens with Porsche engines developed and branded by TAG.
In short, he probably could get any McLaren he wanted at the drop of a hat, but also had strong ties to Porsche in the 80s, and this is the car he wanted. It's called the Porsche 935 Street, and it's the only one ever made. Inspired by the 935 racer that won Le Mans and over 120 other races, Ojjeh contracted Porsche Exclusive when it was still in its infancy to make him one for the road. So they took a 930 bodyshell, slotted in the 3.3-liter turbo flat-six from the 934 but cranked output up to 375 horsepower, and gave it the brakes, suspension, BBS wheels and wide-body aero from the 935 racer. They painted it a deep metallic red and trimmed the interior with cream leather and wood veneer.
When all was said and done, a total of 550 modifications were performed, detailed on a seventeen-page invoice and costing as much as three new 911 Turbos at the time. Ojjeh only put 12,000 miles on the odometer, running up and down the French Riviera, and has now put it up for sale at the upcoming Bonhams auction at Spa where it's tipped to fetch upwards of 300,000 euros - equivalent to $410k at today's rates, or, once again, the price of about three new 911 Turbos.

Gary Cooper's 1935 Duesenberg SSJ fetches record price at Pebble Beach

Mon, Aug 27 2018

The 1935 Duesenberg SSJ formerly owned by Gary Cooper sold for a jaw-dropping $22 million over the weekend at the Gooding & Co. Pebble Beach auction, setting a record for the most valuable pre-war car ever sold at auction. It also appears to have become the most expensive American collector car ever sold at auction, eclipsing the very first Shelby Cobra ever made, which sold for $13.75 million in 2016. The Duesenberg was also the lone American-made entrant in the list of top 10 sellers, which was crowded with the names Ferrari and Porsche. You have to go all the way down the list to No. 21 to find the next American car: a 1930 Packard 734 Speedster Phaeton, which sold for a mere $1.127 million. All told, Gooding & Co. said it realized more than $116.5 million in auction sales over the weekend, with a whopping 25 cars sold for north of $1 million, an 84 percent sales rate and an average transaction price of $947,174. Clearly this is how the other half 1 percent lives. Gooding & Co. said there were five world-record sales at the auction. Joining the Duesenberg were a 1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Series II, which sold for $5.005 million; a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France Berlinetta, $6.6 million; a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale, $3.41 million; and a one-of-two 1966 Ferrari Dino Berlinetta GT, $3.08 million. Oh, and that 1969 Ford Bronco test vehicle we told you about? The one that was rebadged by Holman & Moody as a Bronco Hunter? It sold for $121,000, which was well below the expected range of $180,000 to $220,000. Perhaps it was the presence of all those gorgeous Porsche Spyders and Ferraris that meant collectors weren't interested in boxy, utilitarian off-roaders. View 24 Photos Gooding and Co. had expected the convertible Duesenberg coupe to go for more than $10 million. It was one of only two of its kind built by Duesenberg — the other having gone to Clark Gable — with a specially shortened, 125-inch wheelbase and a supercharged straight-eight with double overhead cams, able to produce around 400 horsepower and a top speed of 140 miles per hour. It features a lightweight open-roadster bobtail body produced by LaGrande out of Connersville, Ind. The car was also owned at one point by race driver Briggs Cunningham.
