This is an offering for a special factory build Carrera GT built for one of the most prolific Porsche collectors in the world. The name of the collector will not be advertised but can be discussed if you are truly interested. Shipping assistance worldwide. VIN: WP0CA29854L001079 Exterior: A1 - Black Commission #: 507489 Additional Equipment This is a fixed price eBay Motors auction and open to offers here on eBay prior to it being offered at one of the major automobile auctions across the country. Please consider the auction houses buyer and sellers premiums you can expect to pay (20%?) so this pre offering should prove a better use of your cash. For sure every GT was a special build but this one was given even more personal attention during the initial design and hand build process in the Leipzig facility so this car does come at a premium. This car really has not changed ownership and is now owned by one of the biggest Ferrari collectors who has decided to sell it only because it is not a core marque car for his collection. This GT is in excellent condition and has been well cared for as part of a collection not as a driver. Clutch inspection, recall, and mandatory service have been preformed at factory certified Porsche Carrera GT service centre. Your inspection is welcomed and if you wish a factory certified Porsche Carrera GT centre inspection we can provide you with a PPI. Not all Porsche dealers are Carrera GT Certified. Books and Two keys will be provided to you as well as past ownership documentation. Without question the Super Cars conceived out of Zuffenhausen, GT1, Carrera GT, and now the 918 are all limited production, significant, and are beyond the driving capabilities of most mortals. The GT1 and Carrera GT are both iconic investment quality cars and buying one is a great achievement but owning one of only a few true collector builds with correct miles and history should bode well in the years to come. Just 604 Carrera GT cars were imported by PCNA to the US market with PAG worldwide production ending up at 1270 units. It is doubtful we will see cars such as the McLaren F1 or Carrera GT ever built again, they are raw unforgiving street legal racing machinery so nasty they are perfect. Cars have changed right before our eyes due to technologies and innovations and looking not too far back we can see the gems that changed road performance cars forever. Buy the correct ones now. There is plenty of online information and books on the subject but just incase you are not aware of what this car is all about but here is a short background on the GT from MSN noting the Carrera GT as one of the best investment cars:
Racing is in Porsche's DNA, but when an opportunity arises, the wizards in Zuffenhausen are quick to seize it. Left with the chassis for an unused open-cockpit Le Mans racer and a V10 engine first developed with Formula One in mind Porsche combined the two in a concept that was a hit at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show. This led to the production of the Carrera GT, a mid engine supercar with a carbon-fiber chassis and body that was powered by a 5.7-liter version of this V10 engine, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox through a ceramic composite clutch — the first of its kind. With 612 horsepower on tap at 8000 rpm, the GT sprinted to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, on to a top speed of 205 mph, with ceramic brakes to haul it back down. Any questions on the car, shipping, or payment please ask away and I will get back to you. |

Are you the next Porsche 911 GT3 RS or GT2?
Thu, 17 Apr 2014Porsche typically keeps to a suitably fast schedule when it comes to rolling out increasingly hard-core performance versions of the 911. After the 997 Carrera debuted in 2004, the GT3 version followed in 2006, and by the end of the 2007, Porsche had rolled out both the GT3 RS and GT2 versions. Then the facelifted 997.5 came out in 2008 and it was back to the start: the GT3 came in 2009, the GT3 RS and GT2 RS in 2010, and the GT3 RS 4.0 in 2011. But things have slowed down some with the latest 991 generation.
The new Carrera came in 2011 and the GT3 followed in 2012. By recent history's example, we should have at least two more hardcore models by now, but we don't. Maybe the engineers in Zuffenhausen have had their hands full fixing the spontaneous-combustion issues with the existing GT3, or maybe their attentions have been focused elsewhere altogether. But if these spy shots are anything to go by, it seems like they're back on the job.
Now we don't know if this prototype foreshadows a new GT3 RS or a GT2, but it sure looks more hard-core than the existing GT3 that many purists have derided as too soft, what with its automatic transmission and four-wheel steering.
Jaguar Land Rover seeks to block U.S. imports of Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini, VW SUVs
Fri, Nov 20 2020You wouldn’t know it was about Jags and Lambos, to judge by its rather dry name: In the Matter of Certain Vehicle Control Systems. But thatÂ’s the complaint Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc filed on Thursday to block U.S. imports of Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi and Volkswagen sport utility vehicles it says are using its patented Terrain Response technology without permission. Jaguar Land Rover, a British carmaker owned by IndiaÂ’s Tata Motors Ltd., said in its filing with the U.S. International Trade Commission that the technology helps negotiate a “broad range of surfaces” and is a key feature in JaguarÂ’s F-Pace and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. “JLR seeks to protect itself and its United States operations from companies that have injected infringing products into the U.S. market that incorporate, without any license from JLR, technology developed by JLR and protected by its patent,” JaguarÂ’s lawyer, Matthew Moore, said in the filing. Representatives of Volkswagen didnÂ’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment on the complaint. Jaguar wants to block imports of PorscheÂ’s Cayenne; LamborghiniÂ’s Urus; AudiÂ’s Q8, Q7, Q5, A6 Allroad and e-tron vehicles; and VWÂ’s Tiguan vehicles. It said there are plenty of other luxury midsize SUV and compact crossover vehicles to meet consumer demand if the SUVs are banned from the U.S. Still, the premium Porsche and Audi lines provide much of the profit VW is using to fund its investments in technology for electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and further innovations. In addition to the four brands, Volkswagen Group owns other upscale nameplates, including Bentley and Bugatti. The International Trade Commission is an independent, quasi-judicial agency that investigates complaints of unfair trade practices, like patent infringement. It canÂ’t award damages but does have the power to block products from entering the U.S. Owners of patents and trade secrets like it because it can work faster than the federal district courts -- the typical investigation is completed in 15 to 18 months. But Jaguar also filed patent lawsuits against the companies in federal courts in Delaware and New Jersey, seeking cash compensation for the use of the technology. Those cases are likely to be put on hold once the trade commission launches its investigation. The case is In the Matter of Certain Vehicle Control Systems, 337-3508, U.S. International Trade Commission (Washington).
Evo sets up duel of Porsche 911s
Thu, 20 Mar 2014What's better, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive? That question has occupied auto enthusiasts for years, and so far, we've not really had a solid answer one way or the other. Evo has opted to take another whack at this tough question by pairing a pair of Porsche 911s against each other for a track battle.
In one corner, we have the two-wheel-drive 911 Carrera S, complete with the lickity-split PDK transmission, a sports suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes. In the other corner, it's the all-wheel-drive 911 Carrera 4S in a much mellower spec, with a seven-speed manual, as well as standard brakes and suspension. While the results seem like they'd be a foregone conclusion, some very British weather is there to act as the great equalizer.
We've got the full video down below. Have a look, and let us know if you agree with Evo's results.
