DESCRIPTION: 2001 Porsche Boxster Coupe 986. NO RESERVE! Beautiful classic Porsche silver paint with black/dark blue/gray interior and soft top convertible roof. Spring is here and summer is right around the corner-time to put the top down! 5 speed manual transmission. 2.7 liter, 6 cylinders rear wheel drive. 87,XXX miles. Paint job is in great shape with no dents, dings, cracks, etc. Anti-lock braking system. Not an "S" but has sport option: 19 inch premium wheels with electric extendable/retractable spoiler, multi-colored Porsche logo on wheel caps and steering wheel, and Porsche emblem valve caps. Has "PORSCHE" Racing decal on top of windshield which can be easily removed if that's not your thing. This car is located in zip code 76155, Ft. Worth, TX. Comes complete with owner's manual and hardback service book. I will post more pictures this weekend once I get the car washed.

OPERATIONAL: This car runs beautifully! I put a lot of TLC and money into it. On March 30th I drove it from Orlando, FL to Dallas/Ft.Worth straight through (18 hours) without any problems. The car faired better than me! The transmission and clutch shift smoothly. Being a mid-engine car, it's surprisingly silent! It's also very spacious for a 2 seat coupe. Has both front and rear trunk space. Cruise control works flawlessly. All wiper functions operate normally. Gauges and instrument cluster fully operational. A/C blows cold. Power windows, door locks, side mirrors. All exterior and interior lights work. Roof does not leak. The roof raises and lowers fine except as the roof is lowering you have to help the roof into the track with your hand. This is a matter of doing it whilst in the car or out. It may need adjustment. The driver's side door/door jamb squeaks a little bit when going over bumps. I think it may need adjusting or lubrication. Has security system. Comes with remote key and Porsche FOB. You can lock/unlock the car, front trunk, and rear trunk remotely.

INTERIOR: Power steering, leather seats, dual and side airbags, telescoping steering wheel, usual wear and tear, brand new cup holders, JVC AM/FM/CD stereo deck with 1/8th input for your iPod, amplifier installed in front trunk. Carpets in great shape with the Porsche moniker.

Experience Daytona in 27,894 photos

Thu, Apr 7 2016

This "video" of the 24 Hours of Daytona is composed from tens of thousands of individual photographs that have been put together into an intriguing but jolty moving picture show. The project was shot at the 24 Hours of Daytona. It was commissioned by Porsche from photographers Camden Trasher and Zach Miller, who pieced it together from no less than 27,894 photographs they shot at the sports car racing season opener in Florida in January. Porsche has won the Daytona endurance race more than any other manufacturer, with 18 overall wins to its name – way ahead of second-place Riley whose Daytona prototypes have dominated the race in recent history with 10 wins from 2005 through 2015. This year an LMP2 prototype built by Ligier and powered by Honda won for the first time, with the Corvette team dominating the GT categories. Porsches came in third in GTLM and second in the GTD class. Related Video:

2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder marks the return of something great [w/video]

Wed, Apr 1 2015

Welcome back, Porsche Boxster Spyder. We absolutely adored the previous version – a roadster focused solely on driver enjoyment and simplistic perfection. Heck, we didn't even care that it had cloth loops for door handles. And this new model looks to (somehow) offer even more to love. Let's start with that engine: the 3.8-liter flat-six tuned to produce 375 horsepower and mated exclusively to a manual transmission, which powers the Spyder to 60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 180 mph. But power isn't the only thing that makes the Spyder package so great. It uses brakes from the 911 Carrera S, is the lightest Boxster in the range, sits 20 millimeters lower to the ground than the standard car, and still features the manually operated cloth roof from the previous car. And it looks fantastic. Fan-freaking-tastic. Inside, there's a whole lot of nothing, and that's just fine with us. Want a radio? That'll be extra. Air conditioning? Open your wallet for that, too. Seems odd in a car that'll start at $82,100 when it goes on sale later this year. But once again, this Boxster Spyder is a tactile sports car whose only mission is to offer outstanding driving dynamics – comfort options are optional, but not necessary. We can't wait to get our hands on this one. New York International Auto Show 2015: World Premiere of the Boxster Spyder New top model in Boxster family Atlanta. Porsche is highlighting the 2015 convertible season by celebrating the world premiere of the new Boxster Spyder. This pure sports car will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show. The new top model of the Boxster range retains the unique and unmistakable character of the previous Spyder, which has already attained cult status. For example, the classic roadster top is still opened and closed by hand, and the Boxster Spyder is only available with a manual transmission, benefiting both weight savings and driver enjoyment. Staying true to roadster DNA, the Boxster Spyder offers a traditional sports-car driving experience combined with truly exceptional performance. This includes a firm sport suspension with a 20-mm lower ride height, brakes taken from the 911 Carrera S, more direct steering, and a 3.8-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with an output of 375 hp, culminating in a genuine sports car experience with outstanding driving dynamics. It is the lightest model of the current Boxster line, and the most powerful Boxster to date.

Top Gear drag races VW Golf R against McLaren 675LT and Porsche 911

Thu, Apr 7 2016

Top Gear's latest quarter-mile drag race in the collects three very different performance vehicles: the 296-horsepower Volkswagen Golf R, 424-hp Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, and 666-hp McLaren 675LT. While each of these cars sit near the top of their segment, they each come from totally different rungs of the sports car price ladder. Spoiler alert, the Golf R doesn't win. But the final results illustrate the diminishing returns of price and performance. For example, the McLaren is only about a second quicker than the Porsche to 60 miles per hour, but the 675LT costs over 2.5 times more that the GTS. Related Video:
