1999 Porsche Boxster (986) Triple Black

Selling my 1999 Porsche Boxster (986).  Metallic black, with black leather and black roof (triple black).  It has 56,000kms, and is in really excellent condition.  Never winter driven, always stored in the garage.  Oil changed every year, used only synthetic oil.  Accident free.  Comes with Porsche fitted car cover.  3M protective film on front end and mirrors.

Options: P84 Sport Package; 17” Sport Classic Wheels (XRA), cruise control, remote alarm, windstop, 6 speaker sound.

Other options: 5 speed manual, auto climate control, heated seats, traction control, Litronic (xenon) headlights, power windows, power seats,

I have replaced the stock stereo with a Sony XNV-660BT Navigation Receiver.  It features 6.1" touch-screen, TomTom navigation (easily updatable through your home computer), Bluetooth phone and audio, iPod/iPhone controls, DVD/CD, satellite radio capable, wireless remote.  (The stock CD player is also available).

This is a true Calgary car, and I am the third Calgary owner.  The car has never seen snow, it is always garage stored and covered for the winter.  I bought it 3 years ago, with 42,000kms.  It has been meticulously cared for.  This car was NOT involved in the floods (we live in the NW, and our home was not affected by the flooding).

Charles Morgan drives a wicked air-cooled Porsche 911 GT2

Tue, Feb 2 2016

Porsche has made a fantastic array of driver's cars over the years, but few can still drum up the kind of excitement as the first 911 GT2. It launched in 1993, based (appropriately enough) on the 993-generation model to serve as a homologation special, and remains a cult classic over two decades later. So to review one, the blokes at Carfection brought in Charles Morgan, former managing director of his family's sportscar manufacturer. The 993-gen GT2 was the first of its breed, packing a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six cooled by air and good for 430 horsepower, all driven to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual. It had a full roll cage, plastic fenders riveted over the wider track, and... little else. It was raw, engaging, and extremely rare. Only 57 road-going examples were made, and these days they're trading hands for stupid money that only investors could afford – but could not afford to drive lest it crash into a write-off. Little wonder that Harry Metcalfe opted for a non-original example that had been brought up to GT2 spec in the aftermarket, and that's what Mr. Morgan is driving here as well. That may make it less authentic, but it still looks like a blast to drive along twisting country roads. See for yourself in the eight-minute clip above, brought to you by the same chaps who used to make the Xcar videos. Related Video:

Porsche becomes first company to rent out Vatican's Sistine Chapel

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

We wouldn't go so far as to say God is a Porsche fan, but those in charge of one of the holiest Christian spots on our little blue marble are welcoming the German automaker into one of the religion's most revered and beautiful settings - the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. In so doing, Porsche will reportedly become the first company to rent out the holy hall for a corporate function.
Now, it's not like Pope Francis has signed off on Porsche doing do donuts in a 911 underneath Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. Instead, the Vatican has rented out the home of the Papal Conclave to the Porsche Travel Club, which will host a classical music concert. The Travel Club organizes events and tours across Europe for Porsche enthusiasts, with the Vatican concert just one part of a tour of Rome.
According to Automotive News Europe, Porsche will sell 40 tickets - at 5,000 euros each ($6,379) - to the event, while the Vatican has confirmed that the Pope will not be in attendance.

Season 9 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases us with BMWs and Volvos

Thu, Dec 22 2016

Jerry Seinfeld's successful online show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is heading into its ninth season, returning January 5th. It should be no surprise that the list of actors and comedians is impressive, with Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, and more making appearances. Seinfeld has lined up an equally impressive list of cars for the new season. Porsche, BMW, and Volvo all have beautiful machines lined up to shuttle Seinfeld and his guest to different coffee shops. As always, it's a mix of light humor packed into a relatively short and, most importantly, free video. Catch up on the previous eight seasons now on Crackle.
