5spd Manual transmission

Vehicle Condition:

This Porsche runs and drives great. Shifts smoothly through all the gears with NO grinding or noise.  The clutch feels strong. The engine starts right up and does NOT smoke or leak.  Tracks straight with no noise in the suspension.  A/C blows cold air, power windows operate smoothly and are not "slow" like many cars this age.  The power top operates smoothly as well.  The top is in "good" shape with no tears or rips, but does show some age.  The rear plastic window is in reasonable shape with no cracks and is not super cloudy or faded like some Boxsters get.  The leather seats do show some wear and the drivers seat is cracked on the bottom cushion. The interior over all is fine, but does show some fading and wear and tear.  The radio face plate is missing, but I do have the radio code card.  The airbag light is on, but all other warning lights are off.   The car appears to be well maintained and can be driven as is where ever the buyer likes.  Everything functions as it should.

Accident Damage:

This car has a salvage Alabama title.  The car was in a fairly minor accident recently.  You can see the damage in the pictures.  There are some dents to the driver's rear quarter panel, driver's door, and driver's front fender.  These are superficial and easily repaired by any body shop and do not effect how the car runs or drives.  Additionally there is some damage to the front the rear bumpers which are also easily repaired.  There are a few small pieces of trim that are missing such as the front corner reflector and the drivers taillight lens is broken, but aside from these small things the car is complete and perfectly drivable as is.  The car did not sustain any suspension or frame damage in the accident.

Maintenance:

The car appears to have been very well maintained by Eurasian Auto Service Inc. of Birmingham AL.  with more than $3500 spent on routine maintenance since 2007.  Maintenance items include brakes, filters, seals, MAF sensor, wheel bearing, and front motor mount.  I will provide all receipts to the buyer.

Terms:

The car is sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied.  The car is located in Alexandria, VA and has a salvage Alabama title.  The buyer will receive the title and bill of Sale.  A $500 deposit will be due within 24 hours of the end of the auction via Paypal with the remainder due within one week.  Buyer is to arrange vehicle transport.

Best plug-in hybrid cars, SUVs and minivans for 2024

Tue, Aug 6 2024

We’re fans of electric vehicles, but they have their shortcomings. TheyÂ’re not available in as wide of a range of body styles as gas-powered cars, and theyÂ’re still limited by range and charging infrastructure. Plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) offer a great compromise, though, allowing for all-electric driving, but also having a gas engine for when you need more power or to travel long distances. Choosing a plug-in hybrid vehicle also allows more options; for instance, you canÂ’t get an all-electric minivan in the U.S. Â… yet. But with those extra PHEV offerings, it might be difficult to know where to start shopping. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down a bit, bringing you the best plug-in hybrids for 2024, as voted on by Autoblog staff, in various segments to help you pick a great PHEV based on your budget and needs. Best luxury plug-in hybrid large/midsize SUV: Volvo XC90 Recharge Despite showing its age, the Volvo XC90 remains an excellent three-row crossover in terms of design, comfort and safety, and the XC90 Recharge plug-in hybrid only improves the formula with both power and efficiency. Interestingly, with the gas motor powering the front axle and the e-motor powering the rear, the XC90 Recharge operates as a rear-wheel-drive car when only using electric power, and front-wheel-drive when only using gas. The powertrain is good for 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque, with a 5-second 0-60 time. It can travel 32 miles on electricity alone. Runner-up: Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid   Best mainstream plug-in hybrid large/midsize SUV: Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Do you want an American PHEV with style, refinement and off-road capability? The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe combines all that with a turbocharged 2.0-liter and electric motor good for 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, as well as an electric range of 26 miles. That means you can enjoy your favorite trails in near silence and make fewer trips to the gas pump on the way there. Runner-up: Kia Sorento Plug In-Hybrid   Best luxury plug-in hybrid compact/subcompact SUV: Volvo XC60 Recharge Volvo borrows the formula from the XC90 and places it in a smaller package to get the XC60 Recharge. It has the same 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque, but it drops the 0-60 time to 4.5 seconds while offering 35 miles of electric range. You can even pony up for the Polestar Engineered trim to get the Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes, 21-inch forged wheels and unique styling.

Watch the Porsche 911 R rip through the mountains

Thu, Mar 3 2016

A few days ago, the top-tier driver's Porsches, the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, were the only game in town. Both are exclusively equipped with the technically excellent PDK, a dual-clutch gearbox virtually without equal. Of course, lots of folks, including Porsche die-hards, wanted to do it themselves, even if human shifts came at the expense of milliseconds of shift time. Porsche listened. You read all about the new 911 R two days ago when it was announced (if not, watch the video and then dive into the particulars at that link). It's an unabashed gift to that vocal minority. The folks that wanted a manual GT3 got one, and it's better than that. It's a throwback to the original 911 R, stripped of weight and unsightly aero bits like the massive rear wing of the GT3. There's even houndstooth-patterned cloth on the sport seats. It's a brilliant homage, without being overly retro. But how does it sound, and look in motion? See for yourself. We humbly suggest minding where the drool lands. Related Video: Porsche Coupe Performance Videos 911 porsche 911 r 911 r

Porsche reveals first Macan driving and manufacturing footage

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

One of the more anticipated offerings of the upcoming year, Porsche's sporty baby Cayenne, the 2015 Macan, has already earned nods of approval from a number of Autoblog staffers. We named it one of the top five debuts at last month's LA Auto Show, citing its 400-horsepower turbocharged engine and other sporty bits as good reasons to get excited about Stuttgart's latest.
And while our first test may be many months away, we're keeping our ears to the ground for any information on Porsche's compact crossover. We're especially keen on stuff like this - our first look at the new model in motion and undergoing assembly at its Leipzig plant. Both are shorter videos, and while there's little of the glorious engine noise we've already been teased with, the videos do offer a great look at the handsome Macan on the road, as well as glimpse at Porsche's state-of-the-art manufacturing operations.
Scope out the videos below and let us know what you think.
