1994 Porsche 968 coupe I bought from original owner who bought it at a dealership in mobile Alabama on 6/30/93 and
has been in Mississippi since day one.
Grand Prix white with cashmere interior
All original has Porsche radio and cd changer that work great . Has complete Porsche tool kit, red spare, and air
pump. 2 sets of keys, manuals .
Cold AC
Runs great , smooth, shifts well, stops great
New tires, Less than 50 miles of a set of Michelin pilot sport as/3 s
Just changed oil with Valvoline VR1 20w50, and a maule air filter and oil filter. And used lubro moly jectron in
the tank.
Like I previously stated I bought this car from the original owner , he had just periodically driven over the
years. I drove it back to my home about 50 miles away and it ran flawlessly. Upon getting it home I changed the
oil, filters and put a new set of michelins pilot sports on it ( the old tires were date coded 2004 and looked
brand new even had the nipples intact)and had it detailed out. The reason I'm selling is a S65 AMG is now available
that I've been trying to get my hands on, and need garage space. If the 968 doesn't sell no big deal I'll keep and
let the value continue to climb. I've taking a lot of pics and pics of the very few issues with the car, I m not
going to hide anything. I'll list a few things the car either needs or what I would do if I keep it.
Future needs:
Sunroof goes up with the switch but when you re attach you have to manually tighten it back down. I looked it up
and it's a common problem and I think the tensioners need adjusting.
The timing belt ( have paperwork) was done 5/7/07 at the dealer at 45k miles, An fit has been driven very little
since that time.
The cup rims do have curb rash , I would get a wheel refinisher to repaint and smooth out the rim lip.
The driver seat minus the bolster is in good shape , does have a hint of patina. Still looks and sits well just
maybe something to consider having the bolster area repaired.
The last issue is the odometer quit ( speedometer works fine) on me, I've read this is a common problem with these
plastic gears loosing teeth and I've looked them up and they are about $25 bucks and a few hours worth of work.
The PO had the clutch replaced, battery , brake master. Cylinder and booster all done in 2013 from an independent
mechanic in the area he moved to, just wanted to note.
Also I'd like to add that I think I have the car priced well in order take care of theses issues.
The car cranks, runs, shifts extremely well and the body is straight with no big dents or scratches. Still presents
very well! Also just want to note that I've owned 911's, 928 GT, 912 and this is by far the best handling and most
fun Porsche I've driven/owned!

Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision.
If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful. It's a track battle, starring Jethro Bovingdon with a new GTS and an old GT3.
Calling the GTS "fantastically agile" and "fast, but it's also hilariously good fun," Bovingdon bangs home a solid lap time of 1:05.2 before switching to the GT3. It's remarkable to see just how dated the 996-generation 911 looks after viewing the newer Porsche, and from where we sit, it's further proof that the old car's headlights are something that's best forgotten. Styling qualms aside, though, can the GT3 keep up with its racy younger cousin?

Super Bowl LVII car commercial roundup: Watch them all here

Mon, Feb 13 2023

Fewer automakers than usual spent money advertising during Super Bowl LVII. In total, there were only five traditional ad spots from three big OEMs. A number of car-adjacent ads aired during the Big Game, too, and we’ll bring you those ads in this roundup alongside the more obvious ones. WeÂ’ve compiled all of the automotive-related commercials for you here in this post so you donÂ’t have to go searching for them elsewhere. Read on below to see what aired as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles. Ram's Super Bowl spot offers a cure for 'Premature Electrification' This commercial revealed the new electric Ram Rev pickup, and itÂ’s themed like a prescription ad for an antidote to "Premature Electrification.” A concerned narrator in the Ram spot asks if you're afraid that going electric too soon will mean "you might not be able to last as long as you like," and there's a guy on a pier who's going to need some new equipment if he wants to catch fish. We're also told there are "options being designed to extend range in satisfying ways," so if this truck isn't right for you, you have choices. All the commercial's missing is a silly medical marketing name and six seconds of speed-reading gibberish about side effects like intestinal bleeding and death. Which are two more good things. Jeep 4xe Super Bowl commercial highlights modern version of 'Electric Boogie' JeepÂ’s “Electric Boogie” commercial follows the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe in a variety of simulated off-road situations. Though fun, the soundtrack is the real star of the show. The songÂ’s original artist, Marcia Griffiths, was joined by Grammy winner Shaggy, Jamila Falak, Amber Lee, and Moyann on the track. The modernized re-recording celebrates 40 years since GriffithsÂ’ original track, and Jeep says the track is available for streaming now. Kia returns to the Super Bowl with the tale of 'Binky Dad' This year, Kia follows the adventure of "Binky Dad" in his quest to fetch his daughter's lost pacifier, which naturally takes him over just about every bit of terrain you might encounter upon leaving the civilized confines of Southern California for the not-so-civilized mountains of ... probably also California. It features the refreshed 2023 Kia Telluride, which probably doesnÂ’t need much advertising to see these days, but Kia went for it with the strong three-row SUV anyway.

Porsche recalling 24,500 Panameras for a potential HVAC coolant pump issue

Tue, Feb 14 2023

A possible coolant pump problem for the HVAC system is causing Porsche to recall 24,467 units of the Panamera from the 2017 to 2020 model years. Bentley's recalling 650 examples of the sibling 2020 Continental GT for the same issue. Porsche was notified of a malfunction in the external heat pump for the Panamera's climate control in December 2022. An automaker investigation found that it's possible for excess humidity or even liquid to get past the pump seals and short out the pump's circuit board and connector. In rare instances, the malfunction could cause a fire. This can happen even when the engine is turned off because the cars in question are equipped with a residual heat function that keeps warming the cabin after shutdown. Panameras built after July 26, 2021 were fitted with a different pump. The Stuttgart carmaker's field analysis showed "a very small number of instances of thermal damage possibly attributable to this issue." Bentley changed the part in July 2019 to a model with a pressure compensation seal. Porsche said it will begin notifying owners on March 27. It also said it will reimburse any Panamera owners who have paid to have the part fixed previous to this recall. The fix is a trip to the dealer for a new pump with better sealing, sourced from a new supplier. Bentley will begin notifying owners on the same day. In Bentley's case, though, the automaker says "A hardware change will be required but the final solution is currently under investigation and cannot be confirmed at this time." Since the automaker moved to a new pump that isn't part of the recall population, we aren't sure why a resolution remains under investigation. Porsche owners can contact Porsche customer service at 800-767-7243 and refer to internal recall number APA1. Bentley owners can call 800-777-6923 and refer to RE23/02 (RC67). Anyone in that group can go straight to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or nhtsa.gov, citing campaign number 23V033 for the Panamera or 23V034 for the Bentley.
