1992 Porsche 968 Semi-restored Beautiful Driver on 2040-cars
Ozone Park, New York, United States
**** VIN# II WILL GET OFF OF THE CAR WHEN I GET A CHANCE. I DID NOT HAVE IT HANDY AT TIME OF AD. *********
This is a 1992 Porsche 968 for sale. This is a beautiful car that has been semi-restored. I bought the car to restore over time with my father. Over the years my father and I have restored over 6 antique cars together. We are now two busy with work and need the money and space to expand our growing business. I originally purchased this car in 2007 and it barely made it home. We pulled it into the garage and a short year later she was on the road and passed inspection from the state of New Jersey. I drove the car every day for months and had no problems. It than sat for over 3 years in my garage. In 2011 we moved it to one of our personal storage warehouses. It has been in a climate controlled garage since the day I had it. She is a beautiful driver and the first Porsche I ever had that doesn’t leak or burn oil. She isn’t in show quality yet but she is a perfect candidate for a finished restoration project.
Year: 1992 Porsche 968 Coupe 152, 638 Miles VIN: Email me for VIN
Here is what was replaced on the car:
Features I love about this Porsche: The removable roof. It is like a big sun roof that is not see thru it power tilts up in the back and then can be removed by clips similar to a convertible top. The top can be stored in the hatch and secured down with the cars cargo net. When this top is off it’s like driving a convertible but still a coupe. If you decided that you wanted to race this car you can simply take the power steering belt off and have stiff steering and not affect the rest of the car. Standard features Power windows, breaks, locks, roof and steering. It has AM, FM cassette tape. It also has a car phone but it never worked and I never received the phone part just the holder in the car.
Small issues to be addressed by the new owner:
Major issues that I would address to finish the car.
Terms and conditions of this sale Warrantee: This car is being sold in AS IS WHRE IS condition. NO warrantee of any kind will follow the car. What you see and what you read is what you get there are no gimmicks here. The car will be started prior to shipping to make sure no problem have arose since the car was in storage. Transportation: I can deliver the car if you are in the tri-state area. Deliver price upon request only. Prices vary on buyer’s location. I can only deliver on an open trailer. Nationwide Transportation Available: Price upon request only. Prices vary on buyer’s location. The buyer must specify in writing if he/she wants closed or open transport trailer.
There is no reserve on this auction so happy bidding. |

Porsche acquires ANDIAL, will integrate with in-house motorsports
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Porsche has purchased longtime motorsports and tuning house ANDIAL.
The Fountain Valley, California-based tuning house ANDIAL has been around since 1975, when it was formed by the Arnold Wagner, Dieter Inzenhofer and Alwin Springer (the company got its name by combining two letters from each of their names). The three men met while working in a Porsche dealership in Southern California and then left to start a business that would put Porsches in victory lane all over the country.
Porsches prepared by ANDIAL won IMSA GT and Supercar Series championships, the SCCA World Challenge, four Pikes Peak class titles and the 24 Hours of Daytona six times. Alwin Springer left the company in 1997 to run Porsche Motorsport North America until 2004 and remains a consultant with PMNA, Wagner passed away in 2011 and Inzenhofer plans to retire this year. ANDIAL is still a going concern, Inzenhofer presiding over a scaled-down engine parts and restoration business. But Inzenhofer is retiring at month's end, making it a good time for Porsche to step in and take over the company's operations.
Despite premium carmakers going downmarket, luxury auto sales stick at 10-11%
Thu, 16 Jan 2014According to research conducted by global information company IHS Automotive, the leporine birthing of new models by luxury manufacturers over the past six years hasn't increased their market share in the US. Even as car sales reached 15.6 million units, IHS says what's happened instead is that luxury buyers are merely moving from one brand to another, moving from larger luxury vehicles into hot segments like compact luxury crossovers or leaving the market at the same rate as other buyers enter.
Whether broken out by makes or by segment, market share has rollercoastered inside a narrow band from 10.5 to 11.5 percent since "at least" 2008. Closer investigation reveals the shifting boundaries in the aspirational pond, with brands like Mercedes-Benz and Audi gaining territory as Lexus and Lincoln lost it, and Saab and Hummer were buried, dead, under it. One neat note is that Tesla has gone from a share of zip to .12 percent.
The subcompact and compact crossover segments show growth, with those little high-riders jumping from .3 percent to 1.16 percent of overall industry sales. Their rise, though, is concomitant with the decline of four other segments: compact and midsize cars and fullsize cars and SUVs. We think the next few years that will tell if the small-car expansion can overcome the large-car retraction, with a phalanx of smaller offerings like the CLA only recently hitting the market and others like the GLA, Macan and Q1 doing so in the near future.
Porsche releases new images of LMP1 racecar
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Porsche has released another batch of images of its LMP1 competitor preparing for its debut season in 2014. This isn't the first we've seen of the new car, as June saw four images of the new racer undergoing testing. Where those images looked merely like someone taking pics during the test, the 11 new images seen above have all the hallmarks of highly polished PR shots.
That aside, the camo-covered cars still provide another look at what the new LMP1 car will look like when it arrives next season. The taillights follow the example set by Audi, by vertically mounting ultra-thin LEDs on the tips of the rear wing, while the LED headlights sport the four-prong look that Porsche has been pushing of late. Besides those two items, its difficult to make out many details due to the amount of camo.
Porsche's LMP1 effort will be focused on the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will see the revered brand return to the top flights of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans with F1 ace Mark Webber behind the wheel. As we've mentioned before, the German brand has set up a dedicated microsite that will cover its newest racer's progress.
