*****NO RESERVE AUCTION*****
***NO TITLE*** I had to put something in the title section in order to list this or Ebay wouldn't let it be listed. So I put "Salvage". Of course, if you want to put it on the road then you can always get a salvage title. NO DELIVERY. PICK-UP ONLY. I WILL HELP YOU WITH SHIPPING IF YOU ARRANGE IT AND PAY FOR IT. I bought this car off Craigslist in PA as a parts donor for some project cars I have so the title issue doesn't matter to me. I was told this came from a real-estate settlement and the title had long been lost since the car was abandoned by the family and sitting for many years. I am selling it, before I start to dismantle it, to finance a 1982 Porsche 931 that I am modifying. If it doesn't sell for what it's worth in parts alone then I have no problem keeping it. If you are looking at this auction then you probably already know what these cars are worth, how rare they are and the performance specs. For those of you who don't know.... There were only approx 1,300 of these imported to the US and approx 4,100 produced worldwide. Stock HP is 247. The 1988 Turbo S and the 1989 Turbo's are the most highly desired 944 (951) of the Turbo version. Just the parts alone on this car are worth a fortune. Good luck affording one that is in excellent condition. Like I said, knowing the value of this car and it's parts, I have to finance my 931 Turbo project so it's just a matter of dollars and cents to me. I would like to see this go to someone who will restore it and care for it. It is out of my budget to do that, honestly. That is why if I end up keeping it, I will have to use it as a parts donor for other turbo projects. ***NO TITLE*** NO DELIVERY. PICK-UP ONLY. The good: 1) I drove it and it ran perfectly fine until it developed a fuel pump issue. The previous owner had tried to wire in an aftermarket MSI ignition and messed up something. I was able to remove all the crap they did but wasn't able to resolve the fuel pump issue even with a new fuel pump. In order for me to test drive it I had to wire a new fuel pump direct to 12V with an on/off switch but even doing that, it only ran for a few days before developing an attitude again so I'm stumped at this point. Maybe you can figure it out. Timing belt was done, according to service records, at approx 60,000 so it's due to be changed. I personally replaced the balance shaft belt and coolant fluid. 2) No leaks 3) Clutch is fine 4) Shifts fine 5) All power windows, mirrors, seats lights, etc. work fine. 6) Brakes are fine 7) Everything seems to be mechanically sound upon light inspection by me 8) Paint is original color just the clearcoat is peeling badly. The bad: 1) NO TITLE 2) AC not working 3) Blows only hot air from vents 4) Missing 1 original rear wheel/rim. Check the pics, I have a phonedial wheel on it now. It came with the factory spare on when I picked it up. Don't have any idea where the original wheel is. 5) Needs paint in a desperate way. 6) Leather interior is very nice, no rips in the seats except a small hole (maybe a cigarrett burn?) but the carpet is horribly stained, maybe Oxyclean it??? 7) Missing a rear bumper pad. Check the pics 8) The front passenger side fog light lens is cracked 9) Looks as if the front bumper was "bumped", no structural damage though, just paint chipped Email questions. Thanks for looking |

VW Group recalls 27k Touaregs, Audis and Porsches for fuel leak
Tue, Jan 27 2015The Volkswagen Group is one of the most expansive in the entire industry, and shares parts across more product lines than we could wrap our heads around. So when the German megalith finds a fault in one of its components, it has the capacity to spread like wildfire. The latest set of recall notices from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration covers vehicles from the Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche divisions. The problem revolves around the fuel injection system, which could potentially leak and cause a fire. The recall affects – deep breath now – the 2012 VW Touareg Hybrid, the 2011-12 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid and Panamera S Hybrid, 2011-12 Audi S4, S5 and Q7 and the 2012-13 Audi A7. All told, that amounts to 27,376 units, the owners of which can expect to hear from the manufacturer to have the fuel rails replaced, along with their corresponding seals (having nothing to do with marine mammals writing letters). RECALL Subject : Fuel Injection System Fuel Leak Report Receipt Date: JAN 20, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V019000 Component(s): FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Potential Number of Units Affected: 26,008 Manufacturer: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. SUMMARY: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Audi S4, S5, Q7, 2012 Audi A6, Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, and 2012-2013 Audi A7 vehicles. In the affected vehicles the fuel injection system may experience a fuel leak. CONSEQUENCE: A fuel leak in the injection system in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire. REMEDY: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rails and corresponding seals, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 10, 2015. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-822-2834 or Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's numbers for this recall are 24AP for Audi customers and 24BK for Volkswagen customers. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. ### RECALL Subject : Fuel Injection System may Leak Report Receipt Date: JAN 20, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V016000 Component(s): ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Potential Number of Units Affected: 1,368 Manufacturer: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. 'Faster. Farther.' dives into the history of Porsche racing tech
Wed, 07 Aug 2013No doubt, Porsche has produced some of the best endurance racecars around, such as the turbocharged, slant-nose 935 of the 1970s and the ground-effects-enhanced 956 and 962 of the 1980s. But the company's most famous racecar, its first overall winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, was the 917.
The 917 embodied many of Porsche's technological achievements up to that point, such as the company's first 12- and 16-cylinder engines (the flat-16 was never used in competition), fiberglass bodies that implemented early aerodynamic practices and the use of new, exotic materials, such as magnesium and titanium.
The racecar was commissioned by the head of Porsche Motorsports, Ferdinand Piëch, to win overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970, after he realized a loophole in the rules that allowed cars to compete with engines up to five liters in the Sport category if they were also production models. Piëch saw opportunity: the top prototype class was restricted to three liters; the production minimum to compete in Sport was 25 cars. And so, with much effort, Porsche assembled 25 "production" 4.5-liter 917s and had them parked in a neat line for the race inspectors to verify their legitimacy. It didn't take long before people realized the new Porsches were much faster than the prototype racers, with a top speed approaching 250 miles per hour.
Porsche's latest Driver's Selection keeps enthusiasts happy at home
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Porsche fans - and there are certainly plenty of them out there, even in here on the Autoblog editorial staff - can be pretty emphatic about their enthusiasm, insisting that the 911 is the very definition of the sportscar. And for some, merely admiring one from afar or even leaving theirs parked outside isn't enough. For just such enthusiats, Porsche Design has expanded its Driver's Selection with some tantalizing additions for the home and office.
First up is a desk chair made from the bucket seat in a 911 Carrera, which we have to admit we'd rather be sitting in right now over this blasted, rather unexciting ergonomic office chair. It's covered in black leather (the same you'd find inside an actual 911) embossed with the Porsche emblem and features electronic backrest adjustment.
There's also a wall shelf made from the carbon-fiber rear spoiler a 911 GT3 Cup racecar that can support up to 264 pounds of downforce in the form of books, trinkets and whathaveyou. And there's a limited-edition resin model of the 918 Spyder in 1:8 scale. The items haven't hit the Porsche shop just yet, so we don't have pricing information, but if they tickle your fancy, the online store has plenty more to offer.
