944 5-speed sunroof car has been sitting in my garage for years. My intent to make a track car out of it since the body and structure was so nice, rust free and appears that the car has the original paint on all the panels too, no signs of damage or ever being wrecked from my inspections. So, I have come to the realization it's time to make space and move it along.

The car does not currently run. Before listing it, I hooked a battery and jumper cables to the leads, and it will start and run for a short period of time off of starting fluid being sprayed in the throttle body. I suspect the injectors are stuck from sitting or fuel pump not working is my guess. I have not had the car professionally looked at and is just the way I bought it. Most everything electrical seems to work, lights go up and down, windows work, power seat adj work, fan blows, dash lights come on, etc. wipers do not work and windshield is cracked. Brake pedal is solid, bakes work as well as emergency brake, clutch master leaks fluid somewhere around the master or line, not sure but it won't hold fluid for any length of time, I have not tried to bleed clutch either. Gears shift and will engage motor/drivetrain in all gears but that is the extent of my testing. SC DOT bill of sale only, no title. Car is for sale locally in South Carolina so auction is subject to end at any time. Porsche releases new images of LMP1 racecar

Porsche has released another batch of images of its LMP1 competitor preparing for its debut season in 2014. This isn't the first we've seen of the new car, as June saw four images of the new racer undergoing testing. Where those images looked merely like someone taking pics during the test, the 11 new images seen above have all the hallmarks of highly polished PR shots.
That aside, the camo-covered cars still provide another look at what the new LMP1 car will look like when it arrives next season. The taillights follow the example set by Audi, by vertically mounting ultra-thin LEDs on the tips of the rear wing, while the LED headlights sport the four-prong look that Porsche has been pushing of late. Besides those two items, its difficult to make out many details due to the amount of camo.
Porsche's LMP1 effort will be focused on the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will see the revered brand return to the top flights of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans with F1 ace Mark Webber behind the wheel. As we've mentioned before, the German brand has set up a dedicated microsite that will cover its newest racer's progress.

"We thought we were going to build a super-911," said Peter Schutz, former CEO of Porsche AG of the development of the Porsche 959. That was before it started getting expensive. At that point, Helmuth Bott, Porsche R&D director got frightened. Costs ballooned because of the all-wheel drive, sequential turbocharging and other technology Porsche had never even thought about when it set out to build a 911 to compete in Group B. Schutz continued, "The amount of resources we were committing got totally out of hand." Instead of pulling the plug, Bott doubled down and drew on the strength of his brilliant team to build a car whose impact is still echoing aross the industry.
"It's probably one of our most prized possessions" says Don Leatherwood, Director of the Brumos collection where Dr. Bott's personal prototype resides, and where Frazer Spowart went to see the car and create a video for eGarage.
