Incredibly clean, original, unmolested late 1986 Porsche Pearl White944 Turbo. This car was sold new in Nashville in the Fall of 1986. It is driven just a couple of days per month in good weather. Other than some chips, light scratches and some discoloration on the sunroof panel the paint is very nice for a 26 year old car. It is smooth and very glossy. Only 2 families have owned this car since new.
YES IT REALLY IS ONE OF THE EXTREMELY RARE FACTORY PEARL WHITE CARS !!! RESEARCH THAT ONLINE. There are actually 944 forums about the Pearl White cars. I was contacted by someone who researches this and have been told this is only the 24th Pearl White 944T he has discovered.
87,800 miles, excellent burgundy leather interior, NO CRACKS in the dash, recent timing belt, clutch, waterpump, fuel pump, etc ... I have the receipts, books, records, Porsche leather key pouch, etc ...
Paint is smooth, shiny and original. There are some scratches around the door and chips on the door edges. Some scratches on top of rear bumper (golfer?)
A/C - cold and correct
Interior - almost perfect.
Engine compartment - clean, correct, tidy, no broken washer bottle or the other typically old 944 ailments. Just clean and original.
Tires - Excellent tread, Bridgestones, but they are 10+ years old, drives well
Wheels - OE phone dials with the better looking offset that was found only on 1986 Turbos
It has one quirk that I am trying to sort out. Eventhough it runs very well and will pull to the redline in 1st -3rd gears, it cuts out at 4,000 RPM when at full throttle in 4th and 5th. I have had it checked out locally by a very good mechanic with no 944 Turbo Experience, but what I can tell you is he replaced the fuel pump and pressure regulator with new Bosch items. He also confirmed the plugs are like new, good plug wires and correct compression.
Will consider interesting trades and can pay difference if you have something worth more. I like European cars of any year model old or new, antique trucks, muscle cars and late 1950's through mid 1960's American cars including wagons and land yachts. Pre 1955 trucks, Split window VW van or truck, P1800, Lincoln MKII, C3 Vette converitble,
No junk please. No boats. I am a car nut and have a good idea about their value, so please no offers to trade even for a $4,000 vehicle.
Listed locally too.

Porsche Classic puts modern navigation in older cars [w/video]
Mon, Feb 23 2015People drive classic vehicles for many, many reasons. Maybe it's because they're cool, or they bring back memories, or perhaps they just want to take a trip back in time, before the days of adaptive cruise control, massaging seats and satellite navigation. You know, back to when driving was about, well, driving. Someone did not mention this reasoning to Porsche, because the German company has decided to offer the tiniest, most ridiculous in-dash navigation system we've ever laid eyes on, through its Porsche Classic line. Because, you know, people don't own smartphones nowadays. In fact, most smartphones are significantly bigger than Porsche's new nav setup. The touchscreen is just 3.5 inches in size, although its graphical layout is clean and in line with the company's more modern offerings. It also integrates a new entertainment system, which adds Bluetooth connectivity and a 4x45 watt amp. The system is being offered for a wide array of vintage Porsches, ranging from the most modern, air-cooled 993s, all the way back to the earliest 911. Four-cylinder and V8 models, as well as front and mid-engine cars, can be fitted with the nav system, too. Porsche Classic has priced the new system at the frankly absurd price of 1,184 euros ($1,344 at today's rates), though we're sure a large number will indeed be sold and installed. Dedicated US pricing is still pending. Check out Porsche's rather silly video of the system in action, available alongside the full press release below. This content is hosted by a third party. PORSCHE CLASSIC BRINGS OUT NEW NAVIGATION RADIO FOR CLASSIC SPORTS CARS True-to-style upgrade with state-of-the-art technology Atlanta. Classic on the outside yet ultra-modern on the inside: with its newly developed navigation radio, Porsche is responding to the growing demand for a built-in device for classic sports cars. The purpose-built unit combines the style of yesteryear with the benefits of modern technology. It fits perfectly into the DIN-1 slot that has been used in the sports cars for decades and is operated by means of two knobs, six discreetly integrated buttons and a touch-sensitive 3.5-inch display. Thanks to the appearance of the black surface and the shape of the knobs, which are supplied in two authentically styled versions as standard, the navigation radio blends harmoniously into the dashboard of classic Porsche models.
Porsche launches classic racing program with restored 917k
Sat, Sep 26 2015Porsches is launching a historic racing program to support private owners of its competition classics. The program will offer customers support restoring and repairing their racecars. It'll also help get vintage vehicles up to spec for modern safety equipment. The company is developing a network of trusted specialists, and will continue supplying spare parts and trackside technical assistance at major historic events. Porsche will also offer to store and maintain privately owned classic racers at its facilities – like the new Porsche Experience Center that's soon to open in Los Angeles – putting them on display for visitors to admire and even transporting them to and from the track for racing events. To highlight the newly enhanced program, Porsche is showcasing this restored 917K. This particular example, resplendent in iconic Gulf livery, won the thousand-kilometer race at Spa in 1971, and was entrusted a few years ago to Porsche Motorsport North America for restoration. It'll be participating in the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca this weekend, but whether or not you'll be in Monterey for the event, you can check it out in the image gallery above. Restored Porsche 917K returns to US race track after 40 years Porsche provides new services for historic motorsport Stuttgart. Historic Porsche race cars represent many victories at the 24-hour classics of Le Mans and Daytona. And they also celebrated memorable successes at 1,000-kilometre events on storied circuits such as the Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps. To ensure that these vehicles can still be admired at race tracks today, Porsche now also offers customers a comprehensive service for historic motor racing in Germany and the USA. The priorities of the new business field are to restore vintage race cars as true to the original as possible as well as to repair and maintain them. "These vehicles have written motorsport history and have gained in value, at times markedly, in recent years," says Jens Walther, President & CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America in Santa Ana/California. "The historic motor racing scene has an extremely strong following in the USA, but many of these vehicles can also be seen on European race tracks. An increasing number of owners are now recognising how important it is for future gain that such vehicles undergo a true to original restoration." The figurehead for the new business service is the now completed restoration of a Porsche 917K.
VW internal investigation finds 'no evidence' against suspended engineers
Tue, Oct 6 2015Volkswagen is still working out the chain of events that led to emissions-evading software being installed in 11 million diesel vehicles worldwide and deciding who was responsible for the treachery. So far, the German automotive giant's internal investigation hasn't publicly named many suspects, and three suspended executive-level engineers have been found not to be culpable in the wrongdoing, according to an anonymous insider speaking to Reuters. VW knows that the software began being installed in the EA 189 engine in 2008. The internal investigation has found that the emissions-evading tech was created because the powerplant was found to fail US standards. Plus, the diesel mill wasn't meeting cost targets, according to Reuters. The automaker responded by suspending over 10 employees, but three top engineers among them might not have been involved. Those put on leave include Heinz-Jakob Neusser from VW, Ulrich Hackenberg from Audi, and Wolfgang Hatz who led Porsche's research and group-wide engine development. The internal detective work hasn't turned up any evidence against these three men. In addition to VW's own inquires, government investigators in both the US and Germany are taking a serious look into the company's actions, too. So far, the automaker is setting aside about $7.3 billion to pay to fix the vehicles with the evasive software. Depending on what authorities find, the costs could grow quickly. Beyond the financial implications, the scandal has led to a serious shakeup in VW's corporate structure. Related Video:
