1986 Porsche 944, Guardsmen Red beautiful shiny finish with coordinating Black interior. Engine just underwent a complete rebuild due to head gasket issue. New Water pump, timing chain, Double fan setup for cooling and tune up. Brakes are excellent, body is undercoated with very few topical scratches or questionable spots for its age. Pictures are true to form for this car. Car shows 232,000 miles but one must understand that several thousand dollars was just spent with one of the area's best Porsche Only mechanics South of Boston, Engine sounds fantastic, exhaust is stainless steel and everything on the dash lights up and works. I recently replaced the dome and rear hatch light so they light up the car when any doors or hatch is opened. Car was a proud member of PCA as can be seen by the window decals.
5-speed transmission which is a must for this car and excellent front end and suspension. K & N air filter and constant oil changes make this car at the beginning of its life. Car has original phone dial up wheels with inner Porsche logos on all four wheels with all season tires that about 90% tread life left. Car needs to be driven and cared for with little tlc as I have always maintained the car perfectly. All sekurt glass and quite a few updates to the engine including tensioners, accelerator, and other high end updates. The car has a dash cover which is ok but if I kept the car i would seek a used one going forward. Rear hatch opens right up and even the rear wiper works (which is a stretch for alot of these models). Carpet is in excellent condition as is the new JVC CD system which replaced the old Blaupunkt cassette player. Roof comes right off and creates a wonderful open air experience for the ride. Flip up lights have been upgraded to Sylvania ultra bright halogen lamps. Car is ready to go just needs to be driven and a minor clutch adjustment as that is also new but I have exhausted my supply of money into this car now it needs to go to someone who can appreciate a high end porsche with a highly reputable rebuilt motor and several high end upgrades to the engine which makes it fly. Also, this car exceeds 30 mpg all day long. Makes it a very economical classic sports car. Doors still ping when shut. Please feel free to contact me with any questions as I will get right back to you. thanks and best of luck. You won't be disappointed by this puppy. Jeff |

Son of Porsche 911 designer recalls 1963 Frankfurt debut
Wed, 16 Oct 2013
The Goodwood Revival is described by its presenters as the greatest motorsport racing party of the year. We often focus heavily on the motorsports, but you can't forget about the party. For the first preview of the new 911 Turbo in the UK, Porsche recreated its booth from the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963 - the time and place of the original 911's public debut.
Porsche's cameras also caught up with Mark Porsche, the great grandson of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and son of the late Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche, who oversaw the design of the 911. Mark Porsche admires the 911's friendly design, which is set off by the round headlights, and says his mother, who was at the original Frankfurt booth in 1963, was milling around the booth at Goodwood - no doubt taking a trip down memory lane.
Porsche revisits the 911's dirty side with rally history film
Fri, 03 Jan 2014It might not be a coincidence that there are rumors of Porsche revealing a safari version of the 911 at April's Beijing Motor Show, just as the Dakar Rally is about to begin. Adding fuel to the dusty desert fire is a just-released official video of Jeff Zwart driving the Porsche 953 that Jacky Ickx drove to victory in the 1984 edition of the race.
In the video, the seven-time Pikes Peak International Hill Climb winner talks about how he grew up with the 911; it wasn't only the car he learned to drive in, it was his choice of racecar no matter whether the course was tarmac or the dirty stuff.
You can decide for yourself if these recent events are mere coincidence while you enjoy the 953's exhaust note in the video below. If you've got the time to see the 953 during its race-conquering drive and find out what the ersatz Paris-Dakar Rally used to be, we've also included a broadcast of that 1984 race below as well. Fast-forward to 19:44 to see the Porsches cross the open dessert and 29:09 to watch one of them tackle the dunes.
2022 Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance Mega Gallery | The show in pictures
Mon, May 23 2022COMO, Italy — Held annually, the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance is, in many ways, Europe's version of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It takes place in a beautiful location, and it brings together an impressive selection of rare and valuable cars. It's a real treat for the eyes, the ears, and, if you're into champagne, the palate. The 2022 edition of the show was no exception: About 50 cars were shipped to Lake Como from over a dozen countries, and it wasn't just the usual suspects. Sure, there were a lot of pre-war cars (including a couple of one-off models), but some of the icons that younger enthusiasts grew up with (like the Lamborghini Countach) were present as well. This year's event was split into eight categories: The Art Deco Era of Motor Car Design, The Supercharged Mercedes-Benz, How Grand Entrances Were Once Made, Eight Decades of Ferrari Represented in Eight Icons, "Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday," BMW's M Cars and Their Ancestors, Pioneers That Chased the Magic 300 KPH, And a design award for concept and prototypes. The jury gave the coveted "best of show" award to a 1937 Bugatti 57 S owned by Andrew Picker of Monaco, while the aforementioned classes were won by, respectively: The Bugatti 57 S, shown below, A 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet, A 1956 Chrysler Boano Coupe Speciale, A 1966 Ferrari 356 P Berlinetta Speciale Tre Posti, A 1961 Porsche 356 B Carrera Abarth GTL, A 1972 BMW 3.0 CSL, A 1989 Porsche 959 Sport, And the Bugatti Bolide concept unveiled in 2020. Winning at Villa d'Este is a big deal: The cars are judged by a panel of highly experienced judges. No one gave me a scoring sheet, presumably out of fear that I'd award points to the late-model Fiat 600 lurking in the parking lot, but several cars that didn't win an award caught my eye. One is a 1934 Bugatti Type 59 Sports, a grand-prix racer that was once owned by King Leopold III of Belgium and that has never been restored — its patina is inimitable. Another is a 1961 BMW 700 RS. One of two built (the other is in the BMW collection), it's a tiny, ultra-light roadster related to the 700 and powered by a 697-cubic-centimeter air-cooled flat-twin tuned to develop 70 horsepower. It won several hill-climb events during the 1960s, and it's one of the rarest cars ever to wear a BMW roundel. Aston Martin's freshly-restored 1979 Bulldog concept was cool to see as well; check out the cassette player integrated into the headliner!
