944s usually come in one of two categories: the 0 mile $20,000 cream puff that you might see being trailered to the Concours and the 200,000 mile $3,000 used, abused and molested type you might see doing burnouts in the Taco Bell parking lot after school. This one is from that rare third category: clean, well cared for, usable and with reasonable mileage. This car has spent its entire adult-owned life garaged in Southern California and Colorado and is completely rust free. I'm selling it because I haven't enjoyed it in years anyway and recent financial issues are forcing me to pay off an old student loan- and because the license plate fees are due again and I don't want to pay them.
WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT THE CAR:
- Super clean inside and out
- 119,800 professionally maintained miles
- Unlike just about every other 944 in the world, this one has a front spoiler and fog lamps that haven't been destroyed by dips & parking blocks
- Fresh ignition system tune up
- Passed strict Southern California emissions test with flying colors in 2007 and has barely been driven since
- Over 50% remaining on all brake linings
- Stationary race style headlamp fixtures, the factory pop-up lamps are included but will require touch up and installation (see photos)
- Battery is less than 1 year old and hasn't even been hooked up yet
- Tires only have about 100 burnout free miles on them
- 1985 1/2 designation makes it a 1985 model year with the 1986-1993 interior features, dashboard and gauges
- Rare factory option "Sport" front power seats with large side bolsters, like 911 Carrera models. The front seats have a fresh upholstery job
- Professionally installed short shift kit
- High power stereo system with hidden amplifier and brand new Blaupunkt CD deck with remote and Ipod port neatly hidden in center console
- Removable/ tiltable power roof panel
- Very dark professional window tint
- Power windows
- Power mirrors
- Power sunroof/ removable roof
- Still has that new Porsche smell, believe it or not
- Factory cruise control that still works just fine
- Factory alarm option (key is missing)
- 15" "Phone Dial" wheels with locks/ key
- Hood and hatch struts still actually work
- Very tight suspension and excellent handling
- Original, unused spare tire, compressor and tools included
- Comes with clean, clear title, original headlamps/hardware, Hayne's manual, owner's manual packet in near mint condition and even an expensive official Porsche factory service manual on CD ROM
- Paint is still very glossy and is about an 8.5/10 (dusty in photos)
- Interior condition is a 9/10
WHAT'S NOT GOOD ABOUT THE CAR:
- There is a 3" dent in the nose panel, not real deep or noticeable, but it drove me crazy. I was going to replace the panel with a new vented panel. See photos
- The sunroof is totally functional, but the switch is stubborn sometimes
- I would recommend replacement of fluids, they've got less than 100 miles of use, but haven't been changed in about 5 years
- The fuse/relay block got water intrusion at some point before I owned it and sometimes needs a good whack- usually not an issue, new blocks are available
- The transmission input center bearing makes noise when cruising without load. Its not an immediate problem, but will require replacement in the near future- a common 944 issue
- Factory A/C needs R134 retrofit to be practical and usable
- Glove box catch and light fixture are missing
- Hood latch needs alignment
NOTE: in the close up photo of the right rear corner, it looks like a white wishbone shaped scuff near the side marker, but its actually only the reflection of a white step stool in the garage.
That's about as thorough a description as I can come up with. Its not 100% perfect, but a very nice old Porsche at a reasonable price and the things it could use are relatively minor. I'm hoping to sell the car to a fellow experienced antique sports car enthusiast or collector who knows what it is, why it deserves respect, how to treat it and how to take care of it. Please, if you're not completely clear as to what it takes to properly care for a 30 year old Porsche, this probably isn't the car for you.

This "video" of the 24 Hours of Daytona is composed from tens of thousands of individual photographs that have been put together into an intriguing but jolty moving picture show. The project was shot at the 24 Hours of Daytona. It was commissioned by Porsche from photographers Camden Trasher and Zach Miller, who pieced it together from no less than 27,894 photographs they shot at the sports car racing season opener in Florida in January. Porsche has won the Daytona endurance race more than any other manufacturer, with 18 overall wins to its name – way ahead of second-place Riley whose Daytona prototypes have dominated the race in recent history with 10 wins from 2005 through 2015. This year an LMP2 prototype built by Ligier and powered by Honda won for the first time, with the Corvette team dominating the GT categories. Porsches came in third in GTLM and second in the GTD class. Related Video:

Porsche recently introduced a four-cylinder version of the new Macan for markets outside of North America, carrying Zuffenhausen's first four-pot since the 968 ended its production run the better part of two decades ago. But you can bet the compact crossover won't be the only Porsche to get the four banger before all's said and done. These spy shots, we're told, are evidence of just that.
Spotted undergoing testing at the Nürburgring (where else), this modified Boxster, our spy photographers tell us, sounds more like a four-cylinder engine than the flat six that's powered (in displacements ranging from 2.5 liters to 3.4) every version of the little roadster since its introduction in 1996, the year after the last four-cylinder Porsche ended production.
The test mule is also wearing modified wheel arches and aerodynamic aids under the bumpers, front and rear. Just what they're doing there we're not sure, but we'll probably find out sooner or later.

The new Macan may be getting all the attention lately, but Porsche hasn't forgotten about its larger crossover – the one that put it on the map in 2002 and on the road to profitability, with over half a million sold so far. So to keep the Cayenne at the top of its game, Porsche has announced several key upgrades for the 2015 model. For starters, Porsche has updated the Cayenne's appearance with new front- and rear-end styling. The front bumper, fenders and hood are entirely new, with air fins flanking the nose to direct air into the intercoolers (each model now being artificially aspirated), and new bi-xenon headlamps and daytime running LEDs on every model but the Turbo, which goes all-LED. Around back there's also new taillights, tailgate handle, lower rear fascia and exhaust pipes. Meanwhile the interior has been upgraded with a 918-derived sport steering wheel and reformed rear seats with available ventilation. The bigger news is under the engine bay, where Porsche is offering four choices. The base model is gone as the range starts with the Cayenne Diesel, followed by the Cayenne S, the new Cayenne S E-Hybrid and the top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo. The Diesel model carries over the same 3.0-liter turbo diesel with 240 horsepower. The Cayenne S however packs a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 that's similar to the one found in the Macan Turbo and packs the same 406 lb-ft of torque but more power at 420 hp, 20 more than either its little brother or the model it replaces to reach 62 mph in 5.2 seconds. The new Cayenne S E-Hybrid makes Porsche the world's only car manufacturer to offer three plug-in hybrid models. Porsche has also ported over the powertrain from the Panamera S E-Hybrid to make what Porsche refers to as "the first plug-in hybrid in the premium SUV segment" and, along with the 918 Spyder, make it (almost unbelievably) "the world's only car manufacturer to offer three plug-in hybrid models" (unless, of course, you count the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera as separate from the Chevy Volt and Cadillac ELR). The system mates a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 333 hp to an electric motor with 95 hp to give it a combined output of 416 hp (more than the diesel and almost as much as the S) to propel it to 62 in 5.4 seconds, hit an all-electric top speed of 78 mph and an all-out top speed of 151 mph – offering a substantial improvement over the previous Cayenne S Hybrid.
