This is a highly original example of the popular 944. Porsche's front water-cooled engine modern sports car introduced in the early 1980's. A much higher performance car than the 924 is replaced, the 944 was an instant success.

Today with a cult following behind it, these cars are an excellent value and a popular entry level Porsche. With 50/50 weight distribution, these cars have ideal handling and a great ride. This example is believed to have all original paint, with the exception of the audio system; an all-original interior, and is in exceptional condition. From the original alloy wheels, to the Porsche pattern on the seats, this is a time capsule example.

It comes with a clean car fax. It has recently been serviced and inspected and ready to be enjoyed. The oil and filter are fresh. We also inspected the belts including the timing belt. While we were prepared to change them, they are fresh and no need to change them. We also tested the cooling fans and pressure tested the cooling system. All are in excellent shape. The Air Conditioning blows ice cold and the fan works in all speeds. While not a new car, its a great running car and can be driven anywhere.

At Pedigree, we show cars by appointment only.

McLaren boss' exclusive Porsche 935 Street is worth three 911 Turbos

Wed, 21 May 2014

McLarens may be exclusive, but there are still hundreds - if not thousands - of people out there who can say they own one. Mansour Ojjeh is one of them, but he doesn't just own a McLaren - he owns McLaren. As in, the company that makes the racing and exotic supercars. Or 25 percent of it, anyway. As the head of Techniques d'Avant Garde, Ojjeh is one of the British outfit's largest shareholders, previously having owned Heuer watches (before selling it to luxury giant LVMH) and engineered Porsche's most successful foray into Formula One - winning the world drivers' championship three times in a row and the constructors' title twice with Alain Prost and Niki Lauda behind the wheel of McLarens with Porsche engines developed and branded by TAG.
In short, he probably could get any McLaren he wanted at the drop of a hat, but also had strong ties to Porsche in the 80s, and this is the car he wanted. It's called the Porsche 935 Street, and it's the only one ever made. Inspired by the 935 racer that won Le Mans and over 120 other races, Ojjeh contracted Porsche Exclusive when it was still in its infancy to make him one for the road. So they took a 930 bodyshell, slotted in the 3.3-liter turbo flat-six from the 934 but cranked output up to 375 horsepower, and gave it the brakes, suspension, BBS wheels and wide-body aero from the 935 racer. They painted it a deep metallic red and trimmed the interior with cream leather and wood veneer.
When all was said and done, a total of 550 modifications were performed, detailed on a seventeen-page invoice and costing as much as three new 911 Turbos at the time. Ojjeh only put 12,000 miles on the odometer, running up and down the French Riviera, and has now put it up for sale at the upcoming Bonhams auction at Spa where it's tipped to fetch upwards of 300,000 euros - equivalent to $410k at today's rates, or, once again, the price of about three new 911 Turbos.

Porsche issues stop-sale on Cayenne Diesel in US

Wed, Nov 4 2015

As reported yesterday, the ongoing Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal has expanded to the VW Group's 3.0-liter TDI V6 engines. The Environmental Protection Agency's finding implicate many engines used by Audi and Porsche, including Porsche's only US domestic market diesel offering: the Cayenne. And after putting two and two together, Porsche has issued a stop-sale on its US-market Cayenne diesels. Porsche's statement is terse. They refer to the EPA's findings as "unexpected," and stress that its stop-sale order is "voluntary." And Porsche assures owners that they can continue to drive their Cayennes as per normal, like the rest of the VW Group vehicles called into question for NOx emissions. The stop-sale order will remain in place indefinitely, until Porsche can "resolve" the issue. No word as of yet as to what the fix will be for the 3.0-liter TDI engines. Porsche Cars North America Statement Regarding Voluntary Stop Sale of Porsche Cayenne Diesel Vehicles ATLANTA, Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. today decided, in view of the unexpected U.S. EPA notice received yesterday, to voluntarily discontinue sales of model year 2014 through 2016 Porsche Cayenne Diesel vehicles until further notice. Mercedes-AMG GT vs. Porsche 911 [w/poll]

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

Mercedes-Benz designed the AMG GT to compete head-on with the Porsche 911. It's a clear, singular purpose, and Benz brings a lot of money, technology and race-bred expertise to the fight.
The AMG GT is Merc's followup to the awesome SLS AMG, the retro-modern, gullwing-doored coupe that took us by storm half a decade ago. But this new GT coupe is a more focused sports car than the SLS, rather than an all out supercar capable of extreme performance. It's got a brand-new V8 engine, and state-of-the-art technology that help it to not only be a proper Mercedes, but to be a serious performer.
Mercedes will sell its new baby in two models. The GT S arrives first, in spring 2015, followed by the standard GT in mid-2016. Of course, there's room to grow from there. And while Porsche may have already expanded its 911 range to include a vast variety of models, here's how Stuttgart's icon stacks up against Affalterbach's bad boy.
