Fully restored 13000 miles and 7 years ago by the original Santa Barbara owner . The owner bought new Ferrari / Mercedes etc regularly so after 30 years it did not look new any more. So everything that wore or faded was replaced like the complete body window out repaint w new windshield and all body rubber and suspension rubber , the brakes, roters, wheel bearings, suspension stuff, transmission overhaul, complete engine and all controls, interior, sound system . It was not wrecked or rusty so the bill came to only a little over $60K. with 9 pages of detailed list of parts the were used for a complete cosmetic and mechanical refurbishing 13000 miles ago.It was a very nice car before ( number 3 Hagerty condition ) now it would qualify as a #1 in Hagarty price guide. Original inefecient intercooler and blaupunkt radio included ( if you want to show it as original) as is the original owners manual, white tire inflater, tools, jack, spare tire, plastic gloves and tire bag and service manual records from new..It was ordered new "color to sample" in stunning color #867 Rennrot which most likely is the only 930 this color. A very special 930 with reveresable upgrades if you do not want a car with a fantastic sound system ( he is a concert chelest so he wanted the sound be perfect).. A friend manufactures speakers so he made some special for him. It rides look drives and smells like a new 1978 930 otherwise. It is invited to a major invitational Concours late July to represent early 930 Porsche models so delivery will need to be after that show. The show is Masterpiece and will have around 200 invited cars of which Porsche is featured with around 10 cars..Unlike many low mile unused Porsche, you can actually drive this car with confidence as it is fully sorted after restoration and it looks and drives great like a newer car not like a 30 year old one. I will assist with shipping however after an inspection and your approval.. Shipping fees and inspection fees are the buyers responsibility. A $1000 paypal deposit within 48 hours. Shipping and pick up only after all funds clear my bank.. Voiture Enterprises is a licensed and bonded Wisconsin exotic car dealer corporation since 1978. Overseas buyers must be responsible for all transfer cost from 53217 and cover any payment exchange rate fluctuations at the time of final payment. No exceptions. AN Additional non refundable paypay payment of $5000 within 48 hours, if overseas buyer is the successful bidder, to be applied to the purchase price upon final payment. I have several other early 930s I am considering selling from my 930 collection. ( the last 6 photos show some ) Let me know of which one you may be interested in and I can put it on Ebay. 414-745-4011

2015 Porsche Panamera S First Drive
Wed, Mar 18 2015Porsche brought the Panamera in for its garage makeover and drove it out looking almost exactly the same. Turns out it was one of those fancy German refreshes where everything happens in places you can't immediately see, as we found recently on the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. The marquee revision across the lineup is under the hood, where every engine gets, at the very least, more power. Such is the case for the naturally aspirated V6 in the entry models, fitted with an increase of 10 horsepower for a total of 310. The same goes for the naturally-aspirated 4.8-liter V8, which lives only in the Panamera GTS now, and gets 10 more hp for a total of 430. That same V8, twin-turbocharged in the Turbo model, is graced with 20 more ponies for 520 hp. The mightiest marquee revision is saved for the S models, which surrender their use of the 4.8-liter V8 and get a 3.0-liter, all-aluminum, twin-turbocharged V6 in its place. It's a brand-new engine designed in-house and related to the 3.6-liter V6 in the base models, but with new features like a magnesium timing chain cover, variable camshaft timing for the intake and the exhaust valves, and a new fuel- injection system. Putting out 420 hp and 384 pound-feet of torque, it's got 20 more hp and 15 more lb-ft than the V8 it replaces. What's more, torque used to peak from 3,500 to 5,000 rpm, but the new torque curve maintains maximum twist from 1,750 to 5,000 rpm. It is less thirsty as well, posting an estimated fuel economy of 17/27 miles per gallon city/highway, besting the 16/24 city/highway of before. An improved stop-start mechanism contributes to this, as it cuts the engine earlier, and the coasting function benefits from a new disc clutch that can decouple the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission from the driveline. As we wrote in our Panamera S E-Hybrid review, you'd need to be obsessed with the Panamera to notice the sheet metal changes around that engine. It's the perfect car to ask, oh so coyly, "Notice anything different about me?" while you stand there dumbfounded, silently thinking, "No." Here is your cheat sheet: the front and back ends are "tighter," meaning faintly more squared off, the front intakes are larger, the tailgate gets wider rear glass over the same-sized opening, the rear spoiler is wider, and the rear license plate bracket has been mounted lower. But even now that you know what the changes are, odds are still 200-to-1 against you actually noticing.
Meet Buster, this 1968 Porsche racecar transporter from Mercedes
Thu, Dec 11 2014If you're thinking about Porsche and Mercedes-Benz when it comes to motorsports, your first thought is probably on the two German brands battling on the track. However, for decades, whenever Porsche's factory team went to compete, a custom Mercedes was right along with them hauling the racecars. These days the truck lives in the Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, FL, and goes by the nickname Buster. However, its story goes back to 1968 when Porsche ordered two commercial vehicles from Mercedes and then handed them over to a Stuttgart-based outfitter for customization. The results were these racing transporters that hauled models like the 917 and 956 until the '80s. The other survived, too, with a place in Porsche's collection. Well-known racers in their own right, Brumos scooped up the transporter in 2003 and have kept driving it to vintage racing events. The interior now boasts the signatures of many of the great drivers from the era of this historic truck. Watch the video for the whole story on the Mercedes with a whole lot of Porsche inside.
Porsche launches classic racing program with restored 917k
Sat, Sep 26 2015Porsches is launching a historic racing program to support private owners of its competition classics. The program will offer customers support restoring and repairing their racecars. It'll also help get vintage vehicles up to spec for modern safety equipment. The company is developing a network of trusted specialists, and will continue supplying spare parts and trackside technical assistance at major historic events. Porsche will also offer to store and maintain privately owned classic racers at its facilities – like the new Porsche Experience Center that's soon to open in Los Angeles – putting them on display for visitors to admire and even transporting them to and from the track for racing events. To highlight the newly enhanced program, Porsche is showcasing this restored 917K. This particular example, resplendent in iconic Gulf livery, won the thousand-kilometer race at Spa in 1971, and was entrusted a few years ago to Porsche Motorsport North America for restoration. It'll be participating in the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca this weekend, but whether or not you'll be in Monterey for the event, you can check it out in the image gallery above. Restored Porsche 917K returns to US race track after 40 years Porsche provides new services for historic motorsport Stuttgart. Historic Porsche race cars represent many victories at the 24-hour classics of Le Mans and Daytona. And they also celebrated memorable successes at 1,000-kilometre events on storied circuits such as the Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps. To ensure that these vehicles can still be admired at race tracks today, Porsche now also offers customers a comprehensive service for historic motor racing in Germany and the USA. The priorities of the new business field are to restore vintage race cars as true to the original as possible as well as to repair and maintain them. "These vehicles have written motorsport history and have gained in value, at times markedly, in recent years," says Jens Walther, President & CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America in Santa Ana/California. "The historic motor racing scene has an extremely strong following in the USA, but many of these vehicles can also be seen on European race tracks. An increasing number of owners are now recognising how important it is for future gain that such vehicles undergo a true to original restoration." The figurehead for the new business service is the now completed restoration of a Porsche 917K.
