4042 ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED MILES.  THIS IS NOT A TYPO.  THIS CAR IS TRULY A ONE OF A KIND – YOU WILL NOT FIND A PERFECT CONDITION 4042 MILE 930 TURBO ANYWHERE, EXCEPT HERE!

This car has now had 3 owners, which includes myself.  I purchased the car from the family of a deceased car collector in Orlando Florida.  This collector had 40+ cars which he would only drive a very small  amount of miles, then basically put the car in storage.  As you can see from the Title, the collector purchased the car from his friend with only 960 miles.  Per the family and Carfax, the first owner had a small accident to the front right, apparently a small dent from a Moped.  The collector friend purchased the car, made the repair, drove it up to 3562 miles, put it in storage, then I purchased after years of sitting.

When I purchased, the car had not been driven for many years.  Consequently we had to replace / repair anything that had fuel in it, including many small repairs from just so many years of sitting.  All Mechanical repairs have been conducted by German Excellence in Orlando which is the very best in working on Porsche’s,  receipts in pics.  We also decided to do a full restoration and had a down to the metal repaint of the car, same original color.  Body painting was done by Performance Plus in Orlando who is a Porsche specialty shop sought out by collectors wanting the very best work on their high end Porsche’s.

The car mechanically and appearance wise is second to none!  Truly a collectors dream car that’s all complete and ready for your enjoyment.

Where will you find this car in such perfect condition and with 4042 Document Miles…this really is a one of a kind!

Meet the man that discovered and restored the oldest existing Porsche

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

Luciano Rupolo is an absolutely fascinating gentleman. He was born in France but spent nearly his entire life in Italy as an auto mechanic running his own shop. His grandfather and father instilled a love of sports cars in him that he carried on by historic racing in Italy for decades. He saw his life-long automotive passion repaid when he found and restored the car that might have been the first Porsche registered for the road.
You can spot in his garage a split-window Corvette, Ferrari 250 GTE and other exotics, but Rupolo's most interesting automotive story concerns his Iso Grifo Competizione (pictured above). The sports coupe was found in the Canary Islands as little more than a shell, but Rupolo got help from a prestigious source for its restoration. The result is a motoring masterpiece.
Rupolo is a fantastic storyteller with a captivating, tale to tell. Settle in, scroll down and watch the bittersweet documentary about his life with one of the first Porsches.

eBay Find of the Day: 1981 Porsche 928 convertible by Carelli

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

The Porsche 928 was perhaps the consummate European GT of its day. With a powerful front-mounted V8 engine that grew in displacement as the model years went on, it was capable of eating up the miles at triple-digit speeds in great comfort for occupants. It was also an unusual beauty, with its sharp front and curved rear featuring innovative integrated bumpers.
Currently for auction on eBay Motors is one of the rarest 928s you're likely to find, in a handsome combination of Guards Red paint and tan leather interior, though we wouldn't mind a less-showy finish to the factory wheels. According to the seller, this car is one of eight 928 convertibles by Carelli Design, a firm that's still in business.
The auction claims that these cars were made in 1981 as a feasibility study between Carelli and Porsche for a possible production 928 convertible. The seller says he worked at the dealership where the car is said to have been originally sold $103,000. To remove the roof and hide the convertible top, there were significant changes made to the body and interior, including redesigned doors and a completely new trunk. As you can see in the gallery, when down, the top is completely hidden in a very factory-like fashion. When up, it looks slightly awkward, though (and we'd really like to see a rear three-quarter view to check out the blind spots).

Porsche 911 GT3 wows the crowds in Geneva

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Porsche has a long and storied history of taking its range-topping 911 sportscar racing, with an enviable record of achievements in tow. The latest machine with which the automaker will take to the track can be seen above: the fifth-generation 2014 911 GT3.
With 475 horsepower strumming through the 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, this is the pinnacle of naturally aspirated performance from Porsche. It can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.3 seconds, hit a top speed of 195 miles per hour and has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in less than seven and a half minutes.
A dual-clutch PDK transmission (no standard manual gearbox will be offered) with shorter gearing than lesser 911 models sends power to the rear wheels. Providing forward motion isn't the only thing those rear wheels will be doing - Porsche says the 2014 911 GT3 is fitted with the manufacturer's first active rear-wheel steering.
