1984 Porsche 928s

Up for sale is my 1984 Porsche 928s. The only reason I am selling my car is I have another son starting college soon so unfortunately car needs to go.

 I purchased the vehicle about 2 1/2 yrs ago and with the full intension to restore. I purchased from someone in Pennsylvania whom owned it in their family for most of its life. Starting with the body, it is straight. The paint shows good at 10' but does have chips and cracks.  This vehicle starts right up and runs excellent.  Its engine compartment is in good condition. It has about 65,000 original miles ( but odometer stopped working shortly after I purchased vehicle, which is common in these cars. The odometer gears were made from plastic) I purchased vehicle over 2 yrs ago with odometer showing 64,400+ miles and have only driven car about 500-600 miles since. I have receipts for new wheels purchased 2 yrs ago and as you can see the four new mounted Kumho Ecsta hi performance all season tires on new flat silver  17”x 7.5" alloy wheels are still like new. It still has the original toolkit. No cracks on the dash. All lights and power switches (some new) work. Sunroof works perfectly, opens and tilts. A/C was converted to R-134a years ago but still blows cold. Interior is in good condition with very small hole in driver seat at bottom and only needing minor reconditioning. Still has original Blaupunkt stereo, but you will probably want to change out. Installed brand new power antenna ($75). I also have a new set of red silicone vacuum hoses but have not had a chance to replace old existing ones. I will give hoses ($150) to new buyer

 This 928S has always been garaged since I owned it and the following work has been done in past 2 yrs;

1- New ANSA exhaust system with chrome tips ( NOTE; Cat. Converter was removed and replaced with test pipe.) $1400

2- Transmission was removed to fix a leak and rebuilt. $3200

3- New Kumho Ecsta tires with New alloy 17" wheels, = $1250

4- Replaced cracked oil pan and gasket ( repaired oil leak) $1100

5 - Replaced plugs, installed new wires and rotor cap $300

. This vehicle is sold as-is, with no warranty, expressed or implied.  I am a private owner, not a dealer. I do have clear title and all this vehicle needs is a new fanatical owner or Porsche enthusiast to complete its restoration.

 These cars are beautiful, sporty and well made. This one is an easy one to complete restoration. I believe the 928's will be the next classic Porsche to skyrocket in value and have already gone up in value about $2500 per NADA GUIDLINES since I owned it.

Porsche Boxster Spyder GT4 under consideration

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Apparently, the Porsche Boxster Spyder will not be the ultimate example of the breed, after reports have surfaced indicating that Porsche is considering an even hotter roadster after seeing strong demand for the all-new Cayman GT4. The new lightweight Boxster was just unveiled a few weeks back at the 2015 New York Auto Show, showing a 3.8-liter flat-six, just like the Cayman GT4. It's without a number of GT4-specific components, though. According to Autocar, a Boxster Spyder GT4, if it were built, would benefit from the same 911 GT3-inspired adjustable front suspension, a unique rear suspension, GT3-spec brakes and a new aerodynamic kit. "We are looking at it right now," a source within Porsche told Autocar. "Much of the engineering has already been done for the Cayman, so we think this might be a good direction for us." Porsche trio seals endurance drivers' title

Mon, Nov 23 2015

Fifth place. That's all it took for the Porsche team to seal the drivers' title in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship. And that's just what they did this weekend in the 6 Hours of Bahrain. The leading lineup of Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley, and Mark Webber drove the #17 Porsche 919 Hybrid to the drivers' title to cap a dominant season for the Weissach team. Porsche already won the pinnacle race at Le Mans this past summer, and drove home the manufacturers' title at the penultimate round in Shanghai. The championship-winning trio of Bernhard, Hartley, and Webber won four out of the total eight rounds this season – including the races at the Nurburgring, Circuit of the Americas, Fuji, and Shanghai. That gave them 166 points in the final standings, besting the 161 achieved by the Audi team of Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fassler, and Benoit Treluyer, who won at Silverstone and Spa. In beating Audi to the top honors in the championship and at Le Mans, Porsche has completely locked its corporate cousins (and chief rivals) out of the winner's circle for the first time in years. Last season saw Toyota win both titles in the WEC, but Audi still won at Le Mans. Audi won both titles in the first two seasons of the championship, and the French endurance race all but three times in the past 16 years. The last time Audi was completely shut out was in 2009, when Peugeot won at Le Mans and Aston Martin took both titles in the associated Le Mans Series with its Lola-based LMP1 prototype. This latest achievement only adds to Porsche's unsurpassed sports car racing trophy cabinet. The German outfit won 12 manufacturers' and teams' titles (and another six drivers' titles) in the 1970s and 80s under the previous World Sportscar Championship. It has won at Le Mans a record 17 times, and another 18 each at Sebring and Daytona. Porsche also took the checkered flag at the Targa Florio 11 times, won the Monte Carlo rally four times, the Dakar twice, and with TAG and McLaren, won three drivers' titles, two constructors' titles, and 25 grands prix in Formula One. Crash sends race car driver sliding into first place

Mon, Nov 21 2016

A Belgian race car driver won an unexpected victory at the 2016 FIA GT World Cup race last weekend when he slid to victory on the roof of his car. According to Motorsport.com, this year's FIA GT World Cup race at the Macau Guia race track in Macau was more accident prone than usual. The race had already been delayed by one crash earlier in the day when Belgian driver Laurens Vanthoor went into Mandarin Bend too hot chasing Porsche driver Earl Bamber, to whom Vanthoor had just lost his lead. Vanthoor's Audi clipped a wall at about 155 miles per hour causing his car to flipped on to its roof and continued down the straightaway at speed. Thankfully, despite the speed and violence of the crash, Vanthoor escaped mostly unscathed. Officials immediately red-flagged the race and, because of delays caused by the earlier crash, the race was called. Since the race was canceled, officials performed a countback on the previous lap's results and declared Vanthoor the winner despite the fact that he finished upside down. In the aftermath, a shaken Vanthoor questioned whether or not he deserved to win. "I don't really know if I deserved it in a way, as I crashed and made a mistake and I am still a winner – which is very awkward," Vanthoor told Motorsport. "But I don't really know what to say. It would have been a better show for everybody without the crash and a better victory, but I don't know what to think about it."
