Here is for sale a perfect restoration example of the great 928 Porsche.

I purchased the car last spring from a reputable professional car restorer in South Carolina who bought the car for his wife and got the car shipped to me (New York) in early summer, while he had begun the restoration work the car was driven 670 miles and his  wife decided that she would prefer the other 928, gold with brown interior and therefore the blue Porsche had to go. After several phone conversation with the owner I felt confident and purchase the car.

As you could see on the pictures the car is in overall great shape and it will not take too much to make it a real beautiful car inside out.
With the car several parts were shipped to continue the restoration work.
Front brake pads, power steering hose ( the existing one as a small crack and leaks ), gas filter....
The transporter drop off the car about 4 miles from my house since his trailer could not get to the narrow streets...I drove the car to my house with my younger son, the car has enormous torque and power and beside being a heavy car, the front nose lift once you press the accelerator to test the engine, you get to 80 miles in a blink of an eye, the car drives powerful and smooth, great for long rides. Tires are nearly new.
To get it to a great shape you will need minor body work with only a few small rusted spots, that do not show up on pictures, the two front seats and dash board will need to be redone as the leather got probably sun burned, the rear seats are in great condition, the carpets will need to be vacuumed and steam cleaned, the door panels are nearly intact.
The engine will need a minor tune up since it has not been running for several months, the reason being that the "irresponsible truck driver " cracked the gas tank unloading the car, I found at home the next day when noticing the gas spots under the car and the obvious smell. I was lucky enough to find a replacement gas tank that will be going with the car. I emptied and dried the original tank.
The transmission although is working absolutely fine needs to be serviced, oil and filter, some of the interior commands do not work as such as the electrical roof top and few minor things, probably fuses related as well as light bulbs, everything else is in working condition.
The car is missing its front Bra.
I am a small business owner and did not and will not have the time to continue the restoration work and rather have a dedicated new owner, the car has been sitting in my drive way gathering dust and I will have to put it in enclosed storage soon before the real Easter winter arrives.
With the car you will also get the brand new super duty batterie, a full set of brand new belts, timing, A/C, Air pump, Alternator, Power steering, new sun roof switch as well as full sun roof motor and relay and full set of knobs and controls.
The previous owner is offering his trade discount price on all interior parts, from leather seat, dash board, carpets you name it, at a 40% discounted price from retail, I will pass it on to the new owner as well as the name and contact informations.
My Ebay profile is 100%, feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have and happy bidding.
I reserve the right to cancel the listing as the car is also sold locally.
I did not vacuumed or clean the car interior in purpose to show you its actual condition .
Before bidding please read carefully the following statement.
If your feedback score is under 50 you must contact me before bidding as I reserve the right to cancel any bidder who do not comply with Ebay's regulation, do not bid if you are not planning to purchase the car, Ebay is not a playground for new and unexperienced bidders, I will report you and will have you blocked from entering Ebay as I lost two sales as a result of irresponsible so do speak
" buyers " that never had the intention of completing the transaction.

Porsche recommits to Le Mans through 2018

Tue, Sep 1 2015

Porsche is back at the forefront of sports endurance racing, and it has no intention of leaving anytime soon. The German automaker announced that it will stay in the LMP1 class of both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship through the end of 2018. So its rivals can look forward to a good three more years of heated competition at least. After winning at Le Mans a record 16 times, Porsche dropped out of competition for top honors in 1998. It returned to the front of the grid last year with the 919 Hybrid, winning the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo at the end of its debut season. Its greater victory, however, came earlier this summer when the revised version took a dominant 1-2 finish in the famous French endurance race. That put the team from Weissach in the lead for the World Endurance Championship, which it (spoiler alert!) further extended this weekend with another 1-2 finish in the inaugural 6 Hours of Nurburgring. "Motorsport is an important part of Porsche's brand identity – but not an end in itself. Racing has got to help the technology of future road going sports cars," said Porsche chief Matthias Muller in the statement below. "It was the revolutionary efficiency regulations that convinced us to return to top-level motorsport for the 2014 season. That we have managed to take the crown jewels of endurance racing in only our second year, with a one-two result in Le Mans in 2015 with our highly innovative and complex 919, is an outstanding testimony to the people in the Weissach research and development centre. The competition bears fruits and we see further potential for future synergy between the racing and road car programmes. This is why we have extended the programme." FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and 24-Hours of Le Mans Porsche confirms LMP1 programme up to end of 2018 Stuttgart. Porsche continues racing into the future with the 919 Hybrid: The board of Porsche AG has decided to extend the Le Mans prototype programme until the end of the 2018 season. With its ground-breaking concept – a downsizing turbo engine and powerful energy recovery systems, combined with an extreme lightweight design – the racing car with a performance of around 1,000 hp serves as a research laboratory for future sports car technology. Matthias Muller, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, said: "Motorsport is an important part of Porsche's brand identity – but not an end in itself.

Watch a Group B Porsche 911 tear up the 'Ring in the snow

Thu, Jan 28 2016

The Nurburgring is a motorsports fantasyland during the best weather, but it looks even more exciting when the snow starts to fall. While the course isn't open to the general public during the winter, this Porsche 911 SC RS rally car managed a lap of the snow-covered Grand Prix Circuit, sliding the whole way around. The 911 SC RS isn't as famous as Porsche racers like the 917, but it has an interesting story. Porsche's development of the 959 was slow in the '80s, and this coupe was the company's stopgap for Group B rallying. The SC RS used the 911 Turbo's wider body, suspension, and brakes, but the car had a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter flat-six to drive the rear wheels. It couldn't compete against all-wheel drive beasts like the Audi Quattro, but one managed third place in the 1985 Tour de Corse in France. The SC RS sounds great in this video, and it looks even better kicking up snow. There's so much accumulation that you can't tell which way the track goes, but driver Patrick Simon knows his way around. After watching this clip, we think the 'Ring should unleash a few more old rally cars on the track for a new racing series next winter.

Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS caters to a very specific customer [w/video]

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Porsche is happy to cater to some very specific buyer demographics, and the brand's newly unveiled 911 Targa 4 GTS at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show is the perfect example of that tendency. The sports coupe is aimed at the customer who wants open-air driving without a full convertible, all-wheel drive traction and a little extra performance, all wrapped in a sporty package. Launching in the US in late-April, 2015, for $132,800, plus a $995 destination charge, this high-performance Targa benefits from all of the goodies from Porsche's GTS line. That gives it a 3.8-liter flat-six boasting 424 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of twist, and the choice of either a seven-speed PDK or seven-speed manual. The model also gets the Sport Chrono package, PASM, 20-inch wheels and a sport exhaust. Picking the PDK means the Targa 4 GTS can hit a top speed of 188 miles per hour and sprint to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Opting for the manual makes the run to 60 take a few more ticks at 4.5 seconds and scarcely cuts the top speed to 187 mph. The Targa 4 GTS is more than just about boosted performance, and shows off some handsome styling tweaks, as well. It wears a modded front bumper with an extra opening to cool the middle radiator. Plus, the wheels are 20-inch units from the 911 Turbo S, and the Bi-Xenon headlights get smoked coverings. Inside, drivers are held firmly in place by Sport Plus seats covered partially in black Alcantara. Porsche apparently sees a hole in its lineup that a higher-performance Targa can fill, and here it is. Look below for a video of intricate top doing its fascinating dance and read the German brand's full press release about the its latest take on the venerable 911. The new 911 Targa 4 GTS More powerful, dynamic and exquisitely styled To mark the 50th anniversary of the 911 Targa, Porsche is offering this very popular model in the more powerful and dynamic GTS version for the first time. The targa concept of the 911 Targa 4 GTS delivers very safe driving enjoyment with all-wheel drive and a rollover protection bar; it also delivers open-air fun with a targa top that stows fully automatically. Contributing to a boost in dynamic performance are the 430 hp (316 kW) GTS engine together with the standard Sport Chrono package, PASM chassis, 20-inch wheels and a sport exhaust system.
