This is a great car and with very rare dealer-installed OEM A/C. The car was bought new in Texas, and I bought from the second Texas
owner: always a Texas car. The odometer shows 68,661 miles, but does not spin (mileage exempt due to classic
status). All other gauges/lights work. Based on how it looks, fit/finish, and how it drives, I seriously doubt it
has clicked over the 100k mark, in my opinion.
Until recently, the car was driven very little since the early 90's but was run in its garage regularly. The engine
runs great and has no dripping oil and is very clean burning with no smoke. The transmission shifts perfectly and
clutch works perfectly. The suspension, shocks, bushings, tie rods, wheel bearings, etc. are in good condition with
nothing loose or worn. Brakes are good. Nearly $11,000.00 has been spent since March of last year making this an
excellent, attractive and reliable driver. Among the improvements: 5 new Pirelli tires 4 with just a few hundred
miles, and the spare never on the ground (warranty docs convey). New muffler (OEM), rear bearings, new
weather-stripping and window adjustments for sealing, new OEM seals all around the car including doors, targa roof,
both trunks, etc., new spark plug insert, new plugs/tune, fresh fluids throughout, all new brakes, caliper kits,
hoses, pads, rear trunk lock, etc. The car is ready to drive, and it will be a joy! All work done by well known
and highly respected professional Porsche specialist shop in San Antonio.
The interior is almost perfect and certainly for its age is in very good condition. There is one small crack on the
top of the instrument cluster housing and the dash has no cracks. There are a couple of nicks in the seats and
center pad. Door panels are perfect. Carpet is in good condition. You can see from the pictures the overall
condition of the interior is excellent. The top and door seals are new, OEM. Anybody that knows these cars always
checks the battery tray and the subsequent rust trail from the battery tray to the back corner of the passenger
seat. On this car it is very clean and no rust is evident. Both trunks are perfect and look like they just come off
the showroom floor. Now the body!!!. The body and chassis on this car are rust free. The bumpers are in great shape
but need a little buffing to get the shine back. The overall look of the car as you can see in the pictures is
almost perfect, with new, very high quality two tone paint (original Porsche 914 colors). Overall this car has a
great look and presents its self very well. It starts, runs, shifts, and stops as it should, and is a dream to
drive. A near perfect car !!!
1976 was the final year for the Porsche 914. Owned by Porsche Club of America (PCA) member (and racer in a 1971
914-4 2L race car).

Porsche says next Cayenne will be faster than Bentley Bentayga

Fri, Jan 23 2015

Bentley and Porsche are both high-end marques under the same umbrella, and may even be collaborating on development of new models – but while they tend to take different approaches and go after different customers, that doesn't mean they can't share a bit of sibling rivalry. And that spirit of competition – even within the Volkswagen Group – looks to be coming to a head in the form of their upcoming luxury performance crossovers. For his part, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer promises that the brand's upcoming Bentayga sport-ute will (in its top spec with the W12 engine) be the fastest SUV on the market. But in speaking with Car and Driver, Wolfgang Hatz – who holds the Porsche R&D head office that Durheimer used to occupy – says the Bentley won't be king for long. Porsche just released the new Cayenne Turbo S in Detroit, touting it as the first SUV to crack the eight-minute barrier at the Nurburgring. And Hatz says that the next version will be even faster. "Our Cayenne is always very very quick. It is doing 300 km/h [186 mph]. I think if [Durheimer] is doing 2 to 3 km/h more, then why not? He's doing that with a 12-cylinder. Our car will be much quicker on the road." The next Cayenne is slated to use a new generation of engines, and according to Hatz, will benefit from the same (if not more) weight loss as the new Audi Q7 with which it will share its platform. That sounds like a winning combination to us. That is, at least, for fans of performance crossovers. For those who aren't, Porsche promises it won't be bolstering its lineup with any new ones. Apparently the Cayenne and the smaller Macan are enough. Nor will Zuffenhausen slot anything bigger than a V6 into the Macan, according to the report. While Porsche's baby crossover will surely continue to get faster with new iterations, the Cayenne will always remain the performance flagship of its SUV range. Porsche 911 spied looking like a Porsche 911

Fri, Nov 27 2015

The 2017 Porsche 911 hasn't gone on sale yet and spy photographers have already snapped an early mule for the next-generation 911 due in calendar year 2018. It might be difficult to make out underneath the cobbled-together bodywork of the previous 991-version 911, but this one has a wider rear end that could be hiding the plug-in hybrid powertrain expected to come with the next big model update, perhaps codenamed 992. The strange white plug would be where owners plug the coupe in, according to this patent drawing. There have been rumors of a hybrid 911 coming for more than a year now, with some suspicious bits in a mule seen last year, and early prognostications being that Porsche is lining up the powertrain for the 911 Turbo to produce somewhere around 720 horsepower. That would make sense as the first stop for the learning and components of the 918 Spyder to trickle down to the 911 range. If Porsche migrated the 918's 156-hp electric motor unchanged into the 560-hp 911 Turbo, you're looking at a 716-hp monster that accelerates even more quickly. A hybrid 911 Carrera model would sit above the standard turbocharged engines. Elsewhere, the 992 model will come on the current MMB platform, and the exterior will be one of evolution, naturally. Interior upgrades will include a fully digital instrument panel. Or, going off the reservation, former Porsche chairman Matthias Muller said earlier this year that, "the high-speed high-tech laboratory of the 919 Hybrid will benefit all our future vehicles" in reference to expanding the Porsche model line to seven models. At the time, Bloomberg wondered if Muller was referring to the long-rumored Ferrari competitor Porsche has debated.
