I am selling my baby. I purchased this car in 2007 as a 1.8L four that had been restored. Over the last seven years, I have rebuilt the gearbox, and installed a completely rebuilt 2.7 (crank up) that was done right, and converted it to a six.
Engine: The case was machined by G2 racing in Michigan and brought back to new tolerances--NO 2.7 heat exchanger related issues. Case decked, inserted, and properly cleaned. Euro Pistons matched with "E" grind camshafts from Dougherty Racing and Webers completely redone including new throttle shaft bushings and throttle plates. I haven't dynoed it, but the build sheet shows well (like 220hp) in excess of 200 horses in this mid-engined rocket. Compression was liquid volume measured at 8.8:1 and will not knock on 86 octane pump gas. Nikasil cylinders with Euro pistons. I chose a 16 quart front-mounted oil tank that feeds the engine through a -20 braided oil supply with -16 returns. The engine has no known issues, or indications that any are coming. I broke the cams in properly with Brad Penn break in oil, and have run Brad Penn 20-50 since that time. Valves recently adjusted. I cut open my oil filters after changes, and they have been appropriately clean. Plugs are a good "mocha" color on shutdown and inspection. I have a front-mounted oil cooler, fittings, and braided stainless hose that I have not yet installed that go with the car. Oil temps in Austin stay around 180-190 with only the engine mounted cooler--the front cooler would just be insurance. No knocks, dings , pops or other funny noises. It sports an Australian Monty stainless steel exhaust--the exhaust was picked from a friend's stash, and has scrapes/dents on the bottom that were there before it was installed on my car.
Gearbox: Stock 901, rebuilt stack in 2007. New dog teeth and sliders as appropriate. Does NOT pop out of first, or crunch. NOTE: The gearbox leaks a fair amount. I assume I pinched a seal somewhere, and it leaves a nice 4-5" puddle on the garage floor after a spirited drive. I have used Kendall NSMP gear oil since the rebuild, and top it off as appropriate. Kennedy Stage II pressure plate, and six clutch disc.
Suspension: 911 front suspension with unknown struts. Aluminum 911 "S" calipers--very desirable. Factory sway bars front and rear. Pelican Parts bump steer kit. Lowered to euro ride height. Unknown rear shocks and springs but functioning properly Elephant racing poly-bronze trailing arm bearings (NO slop). Rear hubs have pressed-in 100mm studs and I'm running spacers. Fronts are H&H racing bolt on spacers (should be track legal). Rears were re-drilled, and fronts are true 5-bolt hubs. Wheels are *OEM* Carrera Cup II wheels (not fakes) and are stupid-light. 17x7 up front at 17x9 in the rear. I have run wheels as big as 18x10 and 18x8 (late offset) with no rubbing issues.
Body/Chassis: Paint is good/very good as pictured. The interior has been redone, and the headrest upholstery has come loose in a couple of spots. Carpet is good, dash is too. NO cracks in any glass. There is one crack in the fiberglass air dam/fender flare on the left front, and a crack in the right rear fender flare as pictured/shown in the video. The notorious "hell-hole" is solid. There is a spot of rust near the firewall in the right longitudinal. It should be repaired the next time the motor is out. I have not noticed ANY amount of flexing or any sag in the body. The chrome windshield trim came loose at the top, and I removed it (it will come with the car). I planned on switching to a black butyl windshield seal, but haven't yet.

AUCTION TERMS: Please read and re-read thoroughly. Please do not bid on this car until you are sure that you want it--all bids will be considered a binding contract. I will not take the "my wife flipped out" excuse--ask first! You are more than welcome to request any and all pictures, videos, etc. that you want of the car--I will do my best to accommodate. Same thing for a pre-purchase--get it done before the auction is over. I will take it to my guy (Moorespeed in Austin TX for a PP) or wherever you like as long as you pay, and they are familiar with air cooled Porsches. You are welcome to go for a test drive if in the Austin, TX area or just come by to check it out. NO FOREIGN BIDDERS without prior approval. All bidders with less than 15 feedbacks will need to contact me prior to bidding. I will do my best to describe everything accurately and fairly, but understand that you are buying a 38 year old sports car, not a 2013 Ferrari. Again, ask any and all questions PRIOR to bidding, as all sales are final. AS-IS and where is. $2000 deposit due at auction close, balance in 7 days. $100/day storage after two weeks. Sorry to be so strict, but I've been burned before. I have 15 years of positive feedback on Ebay.

We're figure the guys in Finland's Stunt Freaks Team see this video as three minutes of freewheeling snow drifting with a Triumph Daytona motorcycle on snow tires, a Porsche 911 GT3 rally car and a Polaris RMK snowmobile. We, however, like to think of it as a mini-documentary on the winter habits of bipedal Finnish mammals, who display a curious set of winter habits that fascinate us no matter how many times we see them. Admittedly, if we lived conveniently close to Rovaniemi, set smack-dab on the border of the Arctic Circle in Finland's Lapland, we'd do the same thing. The title says it all, save for there also being a side-by-side that was probably the camera car. It's missing the huge roostertails, but it's got a crash and a wheelie to make up for it. You know the sound: the startling pop-brraaap-pop-pop shotgun fire of unspent flammables coursing through exhaust pipes that usually signals a raw, naughty powerplant beneath the hood.
But when you're nestled in the Porsche Boxster GTS' snug seats, it's not a crackling small block V8 or a high-strung Italian flat crank making the devilish racket, but rather the new king of the Boxster/Cayman lineup, a 3.4-liter flat-six that produces 330 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
Within the emotional vacuum of a spec sheet, the Boxster GTS' pumped-up grunt seems pretty mild, with a gain of only 15 hp and 7 lb-ft, respectively. But the reworked acoustical experience goes a long way towards suggesting the GTS has a trace of racing blood in its veins, and might even be missing its catalytic converters. In addition to the sonorous, centrally positioned tailpipes, the cabin also fills with lovely mechanical strains thanks to the "Sound Symposer" acoustical amplifier that's trickled down into the Boxster/Cayman lineup from the 911 for the first time. Boxster S, we hardly knew ya.

Porsche has finally let released all of the details on the 918 Spyder, the German brand's challenger to the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari, after months of leading our poor, performance-loving hearts on. The covers were lifted at the Volkswagen Group night, an enormous precursor to the Frankfurt Motor Show, and include a massive, 11,000-word press release that's attached at the bottom of this page.
The 918 Spyder features a mid-mounted, dry-sump-lubricated, 4.6-liter V8 engine that generates 608 horsepower when left to its own devices. Combined with a trio of electric motors, which produce 286 hp, the total system horsepower for the 918 Spyder rests at 887 ponies. That's less than the McLaren P1 (903 hp) and the LaFerrari (949 hp), but the Porsche is also likely to be a bit cheaper, starting at $845,000, while the McLaren will be in the seven-figure range for certain, and it will more than likely be joined by the LaFezza.
The 918 Spyder counters with a 2.8-second jog to 62, a 7.7-second run to 124 and it will hit 186 in 22 seconds.
