Here is a wonderful 2 owner 1974 914,  I found thid in Texas and just to buy it!!   1st owner southern CA, 2nd owner south TX. This car was parked by the 2nd owner in 1993 due to a bad ignition switch and had sat since. Starting with a great car ,only rust was the battery box and even it was not that bad,but I replaced anyway. This car has the orig. WINDOW STICKER and every receipt back to 1974! comes with car!
Car was 100% orig. when I started on it. The interior is as it left the factory, down to the front and rear floor matts. And it is a 9+ out of ten. It does have the appearance package option. We dropped the engine and fixed any and all leaks ( car doesnt leak a drop!) has the orig. Dunlop spare never on the ground. All books, keys, records, tool kit, jack. Porsche service book stamped up to 1980. Front and rear trunks have orig. carpet in exc. condition(even has the orig. noise matt in the rear. Car retains all orig. fuel injection. I have tons of pictures (300 PLUS THAT COME WITH THE CAR) before i started and during paint and rebuild. Car was repainted due to years of road rash, Paint is the orig. paint code, sunflower yellow and is outstanding! (cost was $4800) My plan was to keep this one but another car has caught my eye. Every thing works as it should but the clock. 100% ORIG. AND CORRCET. car is fast ,pulls very hard, drives straight as an arrow and now stops on a dime After researching the car I found the engine was completley rebuilt in 1990 at a cost of $5100 and the trans. rebuilt at the same time.  With all the records and history on this car I just had to do this one to the highest standard i could (but always put way to much to ever get my money back ) A excellent driver that anyone could show as it sits, this is not a
"10"but a 9+ all day long.  one of he best drivers out there period and a Hagerty "3"

I have restored over the last decades 15 Porsche air cooled 911's and dozens of 1973 honda Elsinores,CR250M's,   but doing-restoring this car was the most enjoying job I have done with the great platform I had to start with and the documents and history,    I can not believe how fast this car is and how much fun it is to drive for the buck.  Feel free to call if you wan't to discuss.  Thanks for looking!!  Charles

Mercedes-AMG GT vs. Porsche 911 [w/poll]

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

Mercedes-Benz designed the AMG GT to compete head-on with the Porsche 911. It's a clear, singular purpose, and Benz brings a lot of money, technology and race-bred expertise to the fight.
The AMG GT is Merc's followup to the awesome SLS AMG, the retro-modern, gullwing-doored coupe that took us by storm half a decade ago. But this new GT coupe is a more focused sports car than the SLS, rather than an all out supercar capable of extreme performance. It's got a brand-new V8 engine, and state-of-the-art technology that help it to not only be a proper Mercedes, but to be a serious performer.
Mercedes will sell its new baby in two models. The GT S arrives first, in spring 2015, followed by the standard GT in mid-2016. Of course, there's room to grow from there. And while Porsche may have already expanded its 911 range to include a vast variety of models, here's how Stuttgart's icon stacks up against Affalterbach's bad boy.

What's the deal with all these Porsches Seinfeld is selling?

Mon, Feb 8 2016

In case you haven't been able to tell from watching Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry Seinfeld is as fanatical about automobiles as he is about comedy. The man has one of the most enviable Porsche collections in the world. But now he's preparing to auction off a significant share of them, and Gooding & Company, the auction house handling the sale, has just released the full list. We got our first look at some of them a couple of weeks ago, including a 550 Spyder, a 356 Speedster, and a 911 IROC RSR – all of them valued in the millions. But that's only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Other Porsches from the Seinfeld collection set to cross the auction block include a 917/30 Can-Am Spyder, a 718 RSK, a Carrera GT prototype and a 962C racer. There are old and new 911s aplenty, a handful of 356s, even a 597 Jagdwagen and a couple of 1960s VWs thrown in for good measure. You can scope out the full list in the press release below and view some of them in the gallery above. And if you have the funds and the inclination, Amelia Island will be the place to be next month. Here's hoping it all works out better for the proud new owners than that time George thought he had bought Jon Voight's Chrysler LeBaron. This content is hosted by a third party. Nick Murray's problematic Porsche 911 shows the power of a viral video

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

When Nick Murray took delivery of his 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S in June 2013, he had saved for it for the past five years. He didn't just pluck a random 911 off a dealer lot. He specially ordered his car with thousands of dollars in extras tailored just to him, and he captured all of the options on his YouTube channel. The love affair didn't last long. Eventually the channel became a place for Nick to air his growing list of grievances about his deteriorating 911. Eventually, his mix of righteous indignation and sarcasm went viral.
By late December, he had already had four warranty repairs done on the car. Things got much worse in March. The computers began resetting whenever Nick drove over large bumps. There was also an acrid, electrical smell that occasionally permeated the cabin. Murray filed for Lemon Law protection. Porsche Cars North America contacted him for the first time to fix the problem, but it didn't help.
Things culminated in April when Murray put up a new video that showed more troubles. He began arbitration with Porsche and asked for either his full purchase price back or an exact replacement. The company countered with a portion of what the car was worth, based on its mileage. Murray refused and turned to his YouTube watchers for help. He asked them to spread the word, and the video went viral with over 800,000 views as of this writing. Supporters posted it multiple times on Porsche's Facebook and Twitter sites.
