I'm selling my 1970 Porsche 914 because I need to make room for other projects. I have had this car for over 10 years and never got around to completing it. Every summer I would drive it on nice weather days and planned on fixing it up.

All of the following repairs were done less then 2000 miles ago:
Rebuilt transmission
Rebuilt brake calipers
New brakes and rotors turned
Rebuilt carburetors - both of them rebuilt at the same time
New valve cover gasket
New alternator
New battery
New Carpet interior and matching dash mat
Chrome Rims
Stainless Steele rocker panels - custom made
Drivers bottom cushion re-done in leather, upper cushion has no tears or rips
916 front bumper
rear lower valance
New sterio with AMP and speakers
Tune up

What it needs:
shift linkage kit - $99 on eBay
drivers side exterior door handle plastic piece - see photo
valve job for better performance
passenger seat has some rips in it

Last summer when I took the car out it ran great.  Had it up to 105 MPH on a very rural piece of road.
I started it up today and it idles great, but since it is not currently registered I did not take it out for a spin.
Buyer to pay a non refundable $200 deposit via Paypal and remaining balance will be due withing 7 days via a cashiers check or money order.
I am willing to drive it to a local (Salt Lake City area) shipping company of buyers choice if needed.
Reserve is set at $2500

Porsche becomes first company to rent out Vatican's Sistine Chapel

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

We wouldn't go so far as to say God is a Porsche fan, but those in charge of one of the holiest Christian spots on our little blue marble are welcoming the German automaker into one of the religion's most revered and beautiful settings - the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. In so doing, Porsche will reportedly become the first company to rent out the holy hall for a corporate function.
Now, it's not like Pope Francis has signed off on Porsche doing do donuts in a 911 underneath Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. Instead, the Vatican has rented out the home of the Papal Conclave to the Porsche Travel Club, which will host a classical music concert. The Travel Club organizes events and tours across Europe for Porsche enthusiasts, with the Vatican concert just one part of a tour of Rome.
According to Automotive News Europe, Porsche will sell 40 tickets - at 5,000 euros each ($6,379) - to the event, while the Vatican has confirmed that the Pope will not be in attendance.

Motor Trend holds World's Greatest Drag Race for the third time

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

As part of Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car competition, the buff book has held its third iteration of the World's Greatest Drag Race. With an airfield and a dozen of the world's finest performance cars at its disposal (oh, and a helicopter), the MT team did what any good group of enthusiasts would do, and tried to figure what car could cover a quarter mile the quickest. World's greatest drag race, indeed.
The contestants, as MT points out, cover a huge variety of engine types, drivelines, aspiration types and body styles, making for a genuinely varied and interesting field of competitors. Here's the full list of cars taking part.

Porsche Cayenne, Panamera production halted by flooding

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

If you recently ordered a Porsche Cayenne or a Panamera, delivery may take a little longer than originally expected. Automotive News reports that production of both models has been temporarily halted at the Porsche assembly plant in Leipzig, Germany as the result of supply shortages caused by flooding in the nearby Czech Republic. The reason for the stoppage is that the body of the Cayenne - currently Porsche's best-selling model - is produced at a Volkswagen plant in the Czech city of Bratislava and shipped by train to Leipzig.
The report does not indicate why Panamera production has been stopped - that the five-door's body is made at a separate location in Hanover, Germany. However pre-assembly will continue on these models. At full capacity, the Leipzig plant can produce about 450 vehicles per day, and it isn't clear how long this weather-related stoppage will last.
