Survivor car. Came from California this summer. The car is nearly complete. The car came from someone using it is a daily driver. The engine is solid, she is a fun ride. I just ended up not having the time to dig into her. Original parts abound. The dash board needs a new cover (or replacing). The seats are in decent shape, but need some patching. The seat belts are in the car, and work, but need covers. The rear seat is in the car.

All the body parts are in decent shape with exception to the passenger rocker panel and the front passenger floor pan. The are very small areas of surface rust and parking lot style dings. The antenna is missing and there is a ding in the rear panel.

All original glass. Original driver's mirror and rearview, passenger's side is missing. Headliner is in ok shape.

Parted out she's worth about 15k, but she is definitely restorable.

Car is able to be inspected at my Charlottesville, Virginia home. (North near the airport)

I can help you arrange shipping, at your cost, nationally or internationally

Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.

Recharge Wrap-up: 62-mph electric scooter, Porsche eyes Formula E battery deal

Wed, Sep 21 2016

Porsche is reportedly looking to supply Formula E with battery technology. As it works on its Mission E electric car, the automaker is also seeking to show off its new batteries, which it says will have 800-volt charging capability, supplying many miles of range in just a few minutes. If the FIA were to accept Porsche's application to be the sole battery supplier for Formula E from 2018 onward, this would go a long way toward showcasing its Mission E tech without actually fielding a team. Motorsport reports that independent consultants hired by FIA to choose a battery supplier are reviewing the application. An announcement is expected soon. Read more from Motorsport, or at Electrek. The Moneghette electric scooter offers 62 miles of range at speeds of up to 62 mph. Designer Eduard Bockaj built the zippy e-scooter for himself, and is building more to order, but only for residents of Monaco. With a 10-kW motor and a battery of unspecified capacity, the Moneghette weighs 99 pounds and can accommodate two riders. Check it out in the video above, and read more at Technologic Vehicles. Faraday Future has reportedly signed a $2.4 billion deal with LG Chem to supply battery cells. Using LG's cells, the startup plans to build the battery packs itself for electric vehicles built on its Variable Platform Architecture. According to The Korea Herald, which reported the leaked details of the deal, the supply agreement was reached back in August. Electrek notes that such a sum could represent enough cells to build battery packs for about 200,000 vehicles. Read more at Electrek, or from The Korea Herald. Porsche recalling 24,500 Panameras for a potential HVAC coolant pump issue

Tue, Feb 14 2023

A possible coolant pump problem for the HVAC system is causing Porsche to recall 24,467 units of the Panamera from the 2017 to 2020 model years. Bentley's recalling 650 examples of the sibling 2020 Continental GT for the same issue. Porsche was notified of a malfunction in the external heat pump for the Panamera's climate control in December 2022. An automaker investigation found that it's possible for excess humidity or even liquid to get past the pump seals and short out the pump's circuit board and connector. In rare instances, the malfunction could cause a fire. This can happen even when the engine is turned off because the cars in question are equipped with a residual heat function that keeps warming the cabin after shutdown. Panameras built after July 26, 2021 were fitted with a different pump. The Stuttgart carmaker's field analysis showed "a very small number of instances of thermal damage possibly attributable to this issue." Bentley changed the part in July 2019 to a model with a pressure compensation seal. Porsche said it will begin notifying owners on March 27. It also said it will reimburse any Panamera owners who have paid to have the part fixed previous to this recall. The fix is a trip to the dealer for a new pump with better sealing, sourced from a new supplier. Bentley will begin notifying owners on the same day. In Bentley's case, though, the automaker says "A hardware change will be required but the final solution is currently under investigation and cannot be confirmed at this time." Since the automaker moved to a new pump that isn't part of the recall population, we aren't sure why a resolution remains under investigation. Porsche owners can contact Porsche customer service at 800-767-7243 and refer to internal recall number APA1. Bentley owners can call 800-777-6923 and refer to RE23/02 (RC67). Anyone in that group can go straight to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or nhtsa.gov, citing campaign number 23V033 for the Panamera or 23V034 for the Bentley.
