2008 Porsche 911 GT3
Absolutely stunning condition, never tracked, always serviced, and never wrecked. If you're looking for a GT3 like no other on the market, you've found it.

The Toy Barn is thrilled to offer this STUNNING 2008 GT3, finished in Carrera White over Black leather/alcantara. This car is nearly flawless, absolutely beautiful, and has several reasons to consider purchasing:

History: This GT3 has only 4k miles, and is absolutely pristine. We purchased this car from the second owner, who bought it in 2011 as a Certified Pre-owned Porsche, and drove it less than 700 miles over the course of his ownership, treating more as a collectible than a performance car. It was never tracked or abused, and always serviced and fully maintained. The annual service was due when we purchased it, so we just completed that here at our facility in our Performance Center. We also ran the DME report, as pictured below, and I'm not sure it gets any better than that. The Carfax report shows a clean and clear 2-owner history, and the car has never been wrecked or had any paintwork. The front bumper and the front portion of the hood and fenders have all been wrapped in 3M protection, and you can see without a doubt after one walkaround of this car how well and easy it's been treated (rare for a GT3). The service is fresh, the finish is like new, and the car is unbelievable. We sell and service Porsches on a regular basis, and this is certainly the best example of a GT3 I've seen. It's gorgeous.

Condition: As already mentioned, this car is pristine. The paint shows beautifully, and the car has a clean Carfax report as shown in the link provided below. The 19" GT3 wheels are excellent and damage free, and the Toyo Proxes R888 tires have most of their life remaining. Overall, if the exterior of this 911 isn't a 10, it's a strong 9.8 out of 10. I'd be happy to walk the car over the phone for you to tell you exactly what I see. On the inside, the interior matches the condition of the exterior. The black leather/alcatara looks nearly new, and is complimented by serious driver's equipment; Alcantara shift knob, alcantara brake handle, leather with alcantara seating surfaces, Sound Package Plus, Fire extinguisher, Heated seats, and more. Overall, the interior is a solid 9.5 out of 10, with the only imperfection I could find being only the slightest signs of wear on the driver's seat, simply from being driven.

Conclusion and points to consider: I've been fortunate to be in and out of, and sell numerous Porsches over the years. Seldom do I get the opportunity to get my hands on a GT3 of ANY generation, and when I do, there's always the chance of getting a car with "stories". THIS is NOT that car. This is just as described, and quite frankly, VERY rare. This is an opportunity to get a two-owner, never wrecked or abused, always serviced GT3 that could seriously be labled a "creampuff" (I hate to refer to a GT3 as that) WITH ONLY 4k MILES and with CERAMIC BRAKES!!! If you're looking for a low mile, one owner, perfect history, white/black GT3 that doesn't break the bank, THIS IS IT. You may not find another one like it. It will be sold with 2 keys and all of the original books and manuals, as well as a copy of the original sticker and all of the Certified Pre-owned Porsche documentation. Please call me with any questions you may have.

This GT3 has the following:

  • Black Leather
  • 6 speed manual transmission
  • Ceramic Composite Brakes
  • 19" wheels, exterior color
  • Self dim mirrors & rain sensor
  • Heated seats
  • Bi-Xenon lights

Performance cars old and new are headed to auction at Las Vegas Grand Prix

Fri, Nov 10 2023

Auction house RM Sotheby's is hosting a sale ahead of the 2023 Las Vegas Formula One Grand Prix, and most of the lots that will cross the block were designed with performance in mind. Whether you want a supercar or a Formula One car, there's a chance you'll find it in Sin City. One of the highlights from the sale in terms of rarity and price is the Mercedes-AMG Petronas W04 that Lewis Hamilton drove in the 2013 F1 season. Assigned chassis number F1W04-04, it's the team's last car powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 engine, and you're on the wrong track if you're thinking of the 4.0-liter unit that powers AMG's road cars. The engine in question is a 2.4-liter unit that develops 750 horsepower and is capable of revving to a screaming 18,000 rpm. The KERS system injects 80 additional horses into the driveline. Hamilton drove F1W04-04 in 14 of the 2013 season's 19 races, and he won that year's Hungarian Grand Prix in the car. RM Sotheby's notes that F1W04-04 is "the sole example to be sold outside of the Mercedes-Benz organization," which explains why it expects the car will sell for anywhere between $10 million and $15 million excluding the buyer's fee and a 2.5% import duty that applies to American residents. That's a lot of money, but modern Formula One cars rarely come up for sale. Several other cars are expected to sell above the $1 million mark, including a 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR ($8 million to $9 million), a 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort ($1,650,000 to $1,850,000), and a 1996 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport ($2,500,000 to $3,250,000). The 1990 Ferrari F40 GT (one of 21 units built) could bring up to $4 million. You can take home a rare, high-end classic even if you cap your budget at $1 million. How about a 1984 Lamborghini Countach 5000 S that was delivered new to Ralph Lauren and that has been in the hands of its second owner since 1986? RM expects the coupe will sell for up to $900,000. The auction house is also giving enthusiasts two distinctly different ways to spend a six-digit sum on a 30-something-year-old Mercedes-Benz. There's a 1990 190E 2.5-16 Evolution with about 3,400 original miles that could fetch up to $700,000. That's a lot to pay for a W201, but this isn't a run-of-the-mill Baby Benz: It's one of 502 examples built for homologation purposes. Alternatively, the 1989 560SEC AMG 6.0 Wide-Body could sell for up to $900,000. It's one of the most emblematic cars designed by AMG before it joined Mercedes-Benz.

Ferrari IPO may turn out to be good news for enthusiasts

Tue, Oct 27 2015

Sergio Marchionne's strategy to spin off Ferrari from FCA and make the Italian automaker a publicly traded company has been met with ire from a vocal contingent of enthusiasts ever since rumors about the plan began to surface a few years ago. Some of these particularly pessimistic automotive pundits have voiced fears that with stockholders in the mix, it would not only spell the demise of the exclusive Italian supercar maker as we know it, but would in fact "ruin" the company. Call me dense, but I fail to see what the issue is. That isn't to say that I don't understand what's causing the fear. When profitability becomes a higher priority for a brand that's historically relied on exclusivity to keep its products in the highest echelons of desirability, there's a high potential for internal philosophical conflict. And then there are concerns about the sorts of products that Ferrari might develop that aren't the high-performance sports cars that the brand is known for. But individuals with those apprehensions seem to forget that Ferrari has already lent its name to a multitude of things that are not LaFerraris, 488 GTBs, or F12 Berlinettas, including clothing, headphones, and even laptops. But let's assume for a moment that the core anxiety is about future vehicles – including the unspeakable notion that Ferrari might develop an SUV. Why wouldn't Ferrari build an SUV, especially after seeing how incredibly successful that endeavor has been for Porsche? I think it's likely that Ferrari will put engineers to task creating some sort of crossover or high-rolling cruiser with room for the whole family at some point in the near future. And why wouldn't it, after seeing how incredibly successful that endeavor has been for Porsche? After all, the Cayenne accounted for more US sales in 2013 than the Boxster, Cayman, 911, and 918 combined, and it only gave up about a thousand units of sales last year to make room for the Macan crossover, the latter of which Porsche sold nearly as many of as it did Boxsters and Caymans. People want these vehicles, and they're willing to pay quite a bit of money for them. If we use Porsche's recent trajectory as a foreshadowing metric for what's in store for Ferrari, the future actually looks pretty good. After all, those SUV sales keep plenty of cash in Porsche's coffers for the low-volume projects that we enthusiasts love, like the 918 Spyder and the 911 GT3 RS.

Porsche 918 Spyder burns to ground in gas station conflagration

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

There's one fewer Porsche 918 Spyder zipping along the roads of Toronto, Canada, today. A fire at a gas station over the weekend claimed one of the hybrid supercars in a massive blaze, and a portion of the inferno was caught on video.
According to our partners to the North at Autoblog Canada, the cause of the fire hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but witnesses reportedly claimed gasoline somehow came into contact with the hot exhaust outlets that exit out of the top of the supercar's engine bay. This was just one of two 918s believed to be in the Toronto area.
Other than a possible broken heart from the owner, the fire reportedly caused no injuries, and only the Porsche and gas pump appeared to sustain serious damage. Warning, the video of the conflagration does contain some explicit language.
