VERY original unmolested southern car in a spectacular head-turning color combination. This coupe is finished in the desirable Macademia Metallic over supple tan leather interior. Nearly 137k MSRP with all the most desired options including: * Bose audio * Full power driver and passenger seating ($1200.00 Adaptive Sport Seating option) * Park Distance Control * Full leather package * Red seat belts * Power spoiler operation * Bi-xenon HID headlamps * Massive Turbo wheels * LED front turn signals * Sports Chrono Package * Porsche Active Suspension Management * Porsche Stability Management * Makassar wood trim on steering wheel and wood trim gear knob/e-brake handle * 480hp Twin Turbocharged engine w/6 speed manual gearbox And much more... Thereby bringing this 2008 in line with the '09 model whose primary improvement was the PCM revision. This is a $1200.00 head unit. Vehicle has just about 64k miles (low for the year, driven daily) with the MAJOR engine service completed at 40k by Harper Porsche in Knoxville, TN who has looked after this car meticulously for the last 4 years. This service included belts, fluid changes, new spark plugs, and filters. DUE TO REPEATED INQUIRIES: 2008 TURBOS DO NOT HAVE A 60K SERVICE. PER PORSCHE'S MAINTENANCE INTERVAL STANDARDS (available as a PDF download from their own website) 2008 911 TURBOS HAVE MAJOR/SPARK PLUG SERVICE AT 40K INTERVALS ONLY. The service will not be due again until approximately 80k. Of course it goes without saying that everything works on the car with cold AC and hot heat. New tires all around. About the only notable wear on the car is some discoloration on the seat-back of the driver side seat. This can be easily re-dyed at an upholstery shop at low cost. If I have this re-dyed myself, *the price will go up*. CLEAN TITLE, ABSOLUTELY NO RUST as this is an all southern car and I HAVE DETECTED NO PAINTWORK anywhere on this superb 911, which also retains all its original glass. Just an all around SOLID driver with a clean southern history. Vehicle includes TWO near flawless keyless entry keys for both driver memories, all books, leather pouch and even the original window sticker listing a $136,225 MSRP.

Porsche bringing Macan S Diesel to US instead of 4-cylinder [w/poll]
Mon, 16 Dec 2013When Porsche unveiled the new Macan at the LA Auto Show, it announced two powerplants for the US market, both of them twin-turbo V6s: the Macan S equipped with 340 horsepower from its 3.0-liter engine, and the Macan Turbo with 400 horses from 3.6 liters. But those aren't the only engines Porsche will offer in its new compact crossover. Porsche is also offering the Macan S Diesel overseas with 258 hp, and reports have since indicated that a pair of four-cylinder models on their way: a 2.0-liter turbo four with 280 hp and four-pot turbodiesel of the same capacity with an as-yet undisclosed output.
Now Car and Driver is reporting that while those four-cylinder engines won't be making the transatlantic voyage to our shores, Porsche will offer the aforementioned Macan S Diesel in North America beginning in early 2015, nearly a year after the gas V6 versions arrive.
The 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is based on the same engine found in the Cayenne Diesel and the Audi Q5 TDI on which the Macan is based. Of course, its 248 hp is substantially less than the 340 ponies in the Macan S, but its 413 pound-feet of torque outshines not only the 339 lb-ft in the Macan S but also the 406 lb-ft in the Macan Turbo. Acceleration times, however, suggest the Macan S Diesel is still slower, with a 6.3-second run to 62 mph than neither the Macan S (5.4 sec) or Macan Turbo (4.8). The good news is that the Macan S Diesel is tipped to undercut the price of both, dropping the oil-burning crossover's MSRP below that of the $49,900 starting price for the Macan S and the $49,600 for the base Cayenne. If that C/D prediction comes to pass, that will make it the Macan S Diesel most affordable Porsche sold.
Porsche 911 spied looking like a Porsche 911
Fri, Nov 27 2015The 2017 Porsche 911 hasn't gone on sale yet and spy photographers have already snapped an early mule for the next-generation 911 due in calendar year 2018. It might be difficult to make out underneath the cobbled-together bodywork of the previous 991-version 911, but this one has a wider rear end that could be hiding the plug-in hybrid powertrain expected to come with the next big model update, perhaps codenamed 992. The strange white plug would be where owners plug the coupe in, according to this patent drawing. There have been rumors of a hybrid 911 coming for more than a year now, with some suspicious bits in a mule seen last year, and early prognostications being that Porsche is lining up the powertrain for the 911 Turbo to produce somewhere around 720 horsepower. That would make sense as the first stop for the learning and components of the 918 Spyder to trickle down to the 911 range. If Porsche migrated the 918's 156-hp electric motor unchanged into the 560-hp 911 Turbo, you're looking at a 716-hp monster that accelerates even more quickly. A hybrid 911 Carrera model would sit above the standard turbocharged engines. Elsewhere, the 992 model will come on the current MMB platform, and the exterior will be one of evolution, naturally. Interior upgrades will include a fully digital instrument panel. Or, going off the reservation, former Porsche chairman Matthias Muller said earlier this year that, "the high-speed high-tech laboratory of the 919 Hybrid will benefit all our future vehicles" in reference to expanding the Porsche model line to seven models. At the time, Bloomberg wondered if Muller was referring to the long-rumored Ferrari competitor Porsche has debated.
Trump calls Germans 'very bad,' vows to stop their car sales in US
Fri, May 26 2017TAORMINA, Italy -Talks between President Trump and other leaders of the world's rich nations at the G7 summit on Friday were expected to be "robust" and "challenging" after he had lambasted NATO allies and condemned Germans as "very bad" for their trade policies. Trump's confrontational remarks in Brussels, on the eve of the two-day summit in the Mediterranean resort town of Taormina, cast a pall over a meeting at which America's partners had hoped to coax him into softening his stances on trade and climate change. According to German media reports, Trump condemned Germany as "very bad" for its trade policies in a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, signaling he might take steps to limit sales of German cars in the United States. "The Germans are bad, very bad," he reportedly told Juncker. "Look at the millions of cars that they're selling in the USA. Horrible. We're gonna stop that." White House economic adviser Gary Cohn on Friday confirmed the reports. "He said they're very bad on trade, but he doesn't have a problem with Germany." Cohn said Trump had pointed out during the meeting that his father had German roots in order to underscore the message that he had nothing against the German people. Trump's spokesman Sean Spicer said Trump had "tremendous respect" for Germany and had only complained about unfair trade practices in the meeting. Juncker called the reports in Spiegel Online and Sueddeutsche Zeitung exaggerated. The reports translated "bad" with the German word "boese," which can also mean "evil," leading to confusion when English-language media translated the German reports back into English. "The record has to be set straight," Juncker said, noting that the translation issue had exaggerated the seriousness of what Trump had said. "It's not true that the president took an aggressive approach when it came to the German trade surplus." "He said, like others have, that (the United States) has a problem with the German surplus. So he was not aggressive at all," Juncker added. In January, Trump threatened to slap a 35 percent tax on German auto imports. "If you want to build cars in the world, then I wish you all the best. You can build cars for the United States, but for every car that comes to the USA, you will pay 35 percent tax," he said. "I would tell BMW that if you are building a factory in Mexico and plan to sell cars to the USA, without a 35 percent tax, then you can forget that." Last year, the U.S.
