Why am I selling?
Moving and I have a boat and plane and restoring a house on the water and I don't want this car sitting.  Im rejoining the Porsche world in a couple years.

In my opinion this is a great way to get into the classic years of the 911 and not have to turn a wrench.  Its crank and go.  Everything works but the sunroof (doesn't leak).

Had the car tuned and gone over by RPM Porsche guys here in Alexandria.  They are complete experts.

Recent work: New airbox, filter, oil, rear tires, suspension tuned perfectly.  A bunch of other small stuff like clutch etc.

Its set up with rear fiberglass duck tail but the stock rear panel is flawless and matches paint.  Front hood is stock, painted to match the rear ducktail for retro look.

M&K Muffler (they are really nice, lighter and not too loud), it has records 2 inches thick, carrera tensioners, momo wheel, Ive got most original parts, Sparco seat (very comfortable), paint is a 7.5/10, it's got the Hella upgrades, nice radio plays Ipod.  Im running Brad Penn oil, runs cool but I ALWAYS let this car warmup, no rust of any significance.

Its just runs right up to 6k RPM like its brand new.  Ive kept it out of rain.  I grew up around aircooled aircraft engines so i know how to treat them.  They really built these cars well.  Somebody will be happy.  I just ask you do you homework before you call, this is a competitive price.

Records on the car are 2 inches thick in a 3 ring binder.

No Pay Pal deals.  I live a mile from Wells Fargo, easy to clear the money and you take the car and title.  $500 Due within 48 hours of bid close/reserve met.

Jay Leno plugs himself into Porsche's 918 Spyder

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

As one of the greatest sports car manufacturers of all time, when Porsche puts out a new, ultra-exclusive hypercar, enthusiasts tend to stand up and take note. Jay Leno is no exception, and now, the funnyman is finally getting his time with awesome 918 Spyder.
With his 1963 Porsche 356 and his 2005 Carrera GT flanking a Liquid Silver 918, Leno takes us through the basics of this plug-in hybrid roadster alongside Daniel Eastman of Porsche North America. Following the chat, Leno and Eastman take the German-plated car through the streets of California, testing it in a number of modes and even going on a short, all-electric freeway cruise.
If you're looking to learn more about the 918, or to just here its glorious gas engine at work, you'll want to scroll down and take a look at the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage.

Watch Jeff Zwart drive his Porsche GT3 Cup Turbo at Pikes Peak in 4K

Fri, Jul 10 2015

There are always fantastic videos documenting the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, but 2015 is giving us an embarrassment of riches. After seeing clips from some of the record-breaking runs this year, possibly the very best is here somewhat belatedly after the rally. Watching master Porsche pilot Jeff Zwart wind his fire-breathing 911 GT3 Cup Turbo up the mountain was definitely worth the wait. Already no stranger to success at Pikes Peak, this year Zwart won the Time Attack 1 Class with a run of 9:46.243. To make the feat more exciting, his Porsche was outfitted with cameras to perfectly capture his entire race up the course. The external shots truly convey a sense of speed and show how the mountain goes from tree-lined at the bottom to rocky with patches of snow at the top. The film's sublime production shouldn't be too big of a surprise, though, because Will Roegge was director, editor, and among the camera operators for the video. In 2014, he put together a great, short documentary about Zwart's preparation for the mountain and the run, as well. This year was yet another success. At a breezy 4.5 minutes, this clip is definitely a must-see, and the entire thing looks and sounds fantastic no matter how your experience it. However, if you have the capability, the video is also available in 4K. Switching over to the high resolution really makes it possible to pick out all of the gorgeous details. Related Video:

Meet the man that discovered and restored the oldest existing Porsche

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

Luciano Rupolo is an absolutely fascinating gentleman. He was born in France but spent nearly his entire life in Italy as an auto mechanic running his own shop. His grandfather and father instilled a love of sports cars in him that he carried on by historic racing in Italy for decades. He saw his life-long automotive passion repaid when he found and restored the car that might have been the first Porsche registered for the road.
You can spot in his garage a split-window Corvette, Ferrari 250 GTE and other exotics, but Rupolo's most interesting automotive story concerns his Iso Grifo Competizione (pictured above). The sports coupe was found in the Canary Islands as little more than a shell, but Rupolo got help from a prestigious source for its restoration. The result is a motoring masterpiece.
Rupolo is a fantastic storyteller with a captivating, tale to tell. Settle in, scroll down and watch the bittersweet documentary about his life with one of the first Porsches.
