1980 Porsche 911SC For your consideration is this beautiful,
rust free 911SC finished in Platinum Metallic exterior over buckskin interior. This 911
has been well cared for, serviced regularly and has undergone a very comprehensive engine and transmission rebuild less than 6,000
miles ago leaving a well sorted and great running classic. This car is very well documented,
complete with owner’s manual, warranty booklet (with service stamps), service
records and even the original window sticker! -Exterior- The body is in excellent original condition,
there are a handful of small imperfections, which would be considered normal
for a car this age, such as some small stone chips. The underbody, including battery tray, floors, front pan
etc… are all 100% free of rust, after all this has been a California car
it’s whole life ( I have additional pictures of this 911's underbelly which I will gladly send to all interested parties) -Interior- The interior is in outstanding
condition. The carpets, door panels, targa headliner, and rear seats are all
original and in excellent condition. The front seats have been reupholstered
and in perfect shape. The dash is perfect, no cracks, no warping. The sound system has been upgraded
with a great sounding Alpine head unit, speakers and amp. -Engine & Transmission- The engine is in outstanding
mechanical condition, the engine has been fully rebuilt, everything has been
replaced including head studs, “Carrera”style oil fed chain tensioners, rings & pistons,
injectors, valves, distributor, rotor, wires and plugs in addition to all of the gaskets,
seals and hoses…practically everything but the engine case itself is brand new. The engine work
alone came in at almost $15,000!! The 3.0
litre, numbers matching power plant is perfectly tuned, starts right up on the
first try each and every time, idles smoothly and runs as strong as it did when
it was new. This car is simply provides the driver with nothing but pure enjoyment
behind the wheel. This machine does not burn or leak a
drop of oil. The transmission has also been fully rebuilt about the same time as the engine including new sychros for all of the gears, a new clutch and throw out bearing. The tranny shifts seamlessly through the all of the gears with no slipping or grinding. There are no strange noises or vibrations from the engine or drive train, all you hear is the music of the flat six engine. The ride in this 911 is great, the car is very tight there are no squeaks, rattles or other unwanted noises, the car drives straight and true. Just as with the engine and transmission, the suspension has been gone through and upgraded. This Porsche comes complete with it’s
original tool roll, air compressor, jack, books/manuals, 2 keys etc… This 911 is free on any liens, I have
a clean title in hand and it is ready for a new home. -Terms of

Porsche Boxster spied in the buff
Thu, Aug 6 2015Porsche is preparing a significant update to its entry level Boxster convertible, and while visually this might appear to be a simple refresh, the changes are more than skin deep. Following a number of rumors, Porsche will finally make the jump to turbocharged engines on a broad scale, and it starts with this new Boxster. According to our spies, it's the larger side intakes featured on this prototype that give away its smaller, force-induced flat-four engine. The dual exhaust pipes, meanwhile, say Boxster S to us, rather than just the basic model. Beyond the mechanical changes, this marks the first time we've seen the new Boxster completely free of camouflage. We can see that Porsche's stylists – famous for revolutionary designs slowly tweaking the same style for decads on end – adjusted the look of the front and rear fascias. We like the more aggressively canted headlights, which get the same four-pointed LEDs as its big brother, the 911. The slimmer taillights are a minor improvement on the inoffensive lamps fitted to the current car, and serve to take some attention off the all-plastic exhaust surround, which is much more simply styled than the current car's. It should also be noted that the aesthetics featured on the new Boxster are very, very likely to be transferred directly onto the new Cayman. You can check out our full gallery of shots of the all-new, totally undisguised Boxster in the gallery up top. Expect to see the new roadster around this time next year, with a debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show likely. Related Video:
Is Porsche planning a GT5?
Tue, May 19 2015A trademark application filed in Europe suggests Porsche could be planning a GT5 model to slot at the bottom of its track-focused sports car lineup. The German automaker's GT skunkworks division in Weissach earned its reputation with enthusiasts producing the GT3 and GT3 RS versions of the 911, and previously offered GT2 and even GT1 models as well (although the latter was a limited homologation special). It recently extended itself slightly downmarket with the launch of the Cayman GT4, but this trademark application – already reportedly accepted in Germany and currently being reviewed by the European office – suggests an even more accessible model could be on its way, Autocar reports. Just what form a GT5 would take, however, remains a mystery. The numerical progression would suggest that Porsche is planning a hardcore version of an even smaller sports car, if such a project ever got off the ground to slot in below the Boxster and Cayman. Given that the 911 has bred both GT2 and GT3 versions, Weissach could alternatively be planning an additional GT version of the Cayman, or planning a hardcore version of the Boxster. The prospect of a GT5 version of the Macan, Cayenne, or Panamera seems unlikely as the alphanumeric designation has never been applied to anything other than a two-door coupe, but then we never really know what the future will bring: Before 2002 Porsche had never done anything with more than two doors altogether. These designations are typically borrowed from their corresponding racing class, and of course there is no GT5 category. But then most of these racing classes have been amalgamated into GT3 anyway, unless Porsche is planning on using the name for its own entry-level spec racing series. But at this point we're just spitballing. It's just as likely that the company has simply filed the trademark application to keep its options open for the future. Related Video:
Porsche Macan Turbo vs Cayman GTS in track battle
Fri, 19 Sep 2014"Well this is stupid." On the surface, that was our reaction to this video, as well. Why would you compare the hottest Porsche Cayman with a crossover of any kind, even if it is the 400-horsepower Macan Turbo?
We're guessing because it'd be bloody good fun, as evidenced Auto Express's latest track battle. To be fair, there is some interesting stuff here. The two do have a similar starting price, separated by less than $3,000 here in the US market. And, factoring in the Macan's hefty horsepower and torque advantages - 60 horsepower and 126 pound-feet - does make for a slightly interesting comparison.
We won't spoil the verdict, so check out the full video from Auto Express, and then let us know what you think in Comments.
