Please read this before going on!

After placing this ad, I see the Autocheck says there were 7 owners on this car. This is just not the case. I am the third Owner. I ran a carfax and have included it in the ad. It also says there is a branded title, also not the case. I have a clean title in hand. The "exceeds mechanical limits" notice on it, is NOT on the title. I think at some point in this cars life the mileage was reported incorrectly. The only other way this could happen is if it rolled over, the 964 has a 6 digit odometer and this would mean it reached 1,000,000 miles.

Please contact me before bidding if this is a concern. I am an honest guy who is a die hard automotive enthusiast. If you'd like we can speak on the phone, I will talk your ear off about this car. I want any potential buyer to bid with extreme confidence that this is not a shady deal.

It has been my dream to own a 911 forever, However I just bought a house so I think it would be best to move on.

I don't need to sell this, but the money can go a long way elsewhere.

What I've done to the car since ownership:

Interior:

RS Cup Car carpet kit with back seat delete
Flocked black center console and parking brake
Alpine headunit
Mono Rally Touring steering wheel
Tan 964 sport seats
TWM shift knob
RS door Cards
Alpine Headunit

Motor:

Steve Wong (911chips) Chip
Primary Muffler Delete
Cat Delete with resonated test pipe
Rothsport single belt conversion
Drilled airbox
993 motor mounts

Suspension:

H&R Green Springs

The good:

This is a turn key car that has never given me too much trouble. I've put a lot of blood sweat and effort into it, it really is an iconic car that I've done a TON of maintenance on. The car is a great driver.

I've done the following:

Plugs, Wires
Twin Distributor rebuild
New Belts
Valve adjustment
Valve cover gaskets
Door Seals
Oil tank hoses
Timing Chain bridge
Belt tension sensor
Motor Mounts

Ive put around 2000 miles on the car, and I've given it 4 or 5 oil changes with either Brad Penn 20w 50 or Valvoline VR1, no mobile one crap. Only the good stuff.

Im the third owner, I even have the original window sticker from 1991 pricing the car at nearly $80,000.

No cracks on the dash!!

It shifts wonderfully and pulls hard to redline.

It fires right up on cold start.

Will include an expensive car cover I bought on pelican parts.

I would not hesitate to drive this car any distance, In September I drove it to ocean city Maryland (about 5 hours away) for the weekend and it didn't have a single hiccup.

What You should know!

There is no air conditioning. It was out of R12 when I bought the car, so honestly I just deleted it. However I will include the compressor and lines.

The heat is deleted with a fabspeed block off plate. When I deleted the heat, it still blew piping hot. Heat exchangers worry me as a general theory, and I hardly ever drive the car in sour weather. Heat can be put back in the car if you buy an RS fan ducting for around $100 and spend 25-30 seconds throwing it in.

Airbags were disabled, drivers and passenger. If you put an OEM steering wheel back in, you can rein-able them in minutes by removing the oem resistor.

I like a weighted shift knob, so I've installed a great one on the car, It was expensive and feels amazing. This coupled with the fact that the interior used to be gray, there is no shift boot. There could be if you were so inclined to take this task on, I personally like the look without it, I think it follows the theme of the car.

There is NO catalytic converter in the car. However there is no check engine light.

The bad:

The car has a small rust spot on the drivers fender, I've put por15 on it but in a few years it will need to be replaced.

The bumpers could use some attention, they were tapped lightly at some point in its life, and the clear coat has some spidering going on. They could use a respray.

The rear bumper also has a small crack in it.

There are a few various stone chips.

The momo wheel has a small stain on it from some rogue interior glue during carpet install

The Conclusion:

There is no service paperwork on the car, However I've done a decent job at bringing it back up to date. This is going to make an awesome driver or track / DE car for someone.

The car is adult owned, never tracked or raced. The car looks amazing in person, and drives even better. You will not be disappointed.

The car will come on OEM 16" Porsche D90 wheels with all season tires (plenty of tread left).

If the buyer wants the CCW wheels pictured in two of the photographs, I will sell them separately.

Here is a walk around I did of the car, Apparently I have terrible depth perception when pointing things out.

Buyer is responsible for shipping or picking up the car, and will require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction ending.

Feel free to ask any questions as I will gladly answer them.

Watch the Porsche 911 R rip through the mountains

Thu, Mar 3 2016

A few days ago, the top-tier driver's Porsches, the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, were the only game in town. Both are exclusively equipped with the technically excellent PDK, a dual-clutch gearbox virtually without equal. Of course, lots of folks, including Porsche die-hards, wanted to do it themselves, even if human shifts came at the expense of milliseconds of shift time. Porsche listened. You read all about the new 911 R two days ago when it was announced (if not, watch the video and then dive into the particulars at that link). It's an unabashed gift to that vocal minority. The folks that wanted a manual GT3 got one, and it's better than that. It's a throwback to the original 911 R, stripped of weight and unsightly aero bits like the massive rear wing of the GT3. There's even houndstooth-patterned cloth on the sport seats. It's a brilliant homage, without being overly retro. But how does it sound, and look in motion? See for yourself. We humbly suggest minding where the drool lands. Related Video: Porsche Coupe Performance Videos 911 porsche 911 r 911 r

Singer's latest Porsche 911 has the most amazingly retro interior we've ever seen

Sat, Aug 20 2016

Singer Vehicle Design doesn't just restore classic Porsche 911 models. The company says it "reimagines" the iconic sportscar for a reason – these are fully customized vehicles made specifically for owners who want something different than what rolled out of the factory floor. The latest twins to come from Singer debuted at the Quail Motorsports Gathering, and they are exquisite. Both the orange Targa (nicknamed Luxemburg) and the gunmetal gray coupe (nicknamed Minnesota) belong to the same owner, but they are very different in execution. Whereas the dark silver coupe is lovely and understated, the orange Targa is much more audacious. Luxemburg's (and yes, we do feel a bit silly using these names) most eye-catching feature has to be the multi-color leather seats. Large portions of the interior are swathed in deep blue leather, but the seats are covered in a unique seven-color leather weave pattern (two oranges, four shades of blue and one cream). The weave extends to the dash and door panels, and we absolutely love it. The removable roof panel is carbon fiber on the outside and blue canvas inside, but we'd have a hard time leaving it attached. Open air motoring is great, and better to enjoy the lovely sounds of the rear-mounted, 4.0-liter, air-cooled, flat-six engine. Minnesota looks almost looks mundane next to its orange sibling, but it's equally beautiful with its deep paint job and brown leather interior. Power for the coupe comes from a 350-horsepower, 3.8-liter, air-cooled engine built by Cosworth. Check out both Singer recreations in our galleries above and below. Porsche production will stay in Germany, says sales chief

Fri, May 29 2015

At Porsche's recent opening of its new North American headquarters in Atlanta, we had a chance to chat with Bernhard Maier, the brand's head of sales and marketing. In our interview Maier opens up about Porsche's global growth, relationship with other Volkswagen Group products, and some of Porsche's future video. Read on for more. Autoblog: You're on a smooth trajectory of increasing sales in the US. Do you think there's an ultimate cap for Porsche in terms of volume? Bernhard Maier: If you look at the last couple of years, we have really seen a rapid growth in US, as we have seen in many other countries as well. Put that in perspective with our strategy for 2018. When we released that in early 2011, we said there are opportunities to grow for the brand in a number of ways. We are growing by entering new markets where we are not yet in, by taking part in the overall development of individual mobility, and in going in new segments where we are not yet in or that we were not yet in, such as the B SUV segment. And the Macan is, I think, a through-and-through success story. Let's take the US. Out of 1,000 inhabitants compare that with 700 cars on the marketplace. If we go to China, there are only 70 cars out of 1,000 inhabitants. So this is a huge potential, which we still have for the entire automotive industry and, again, we are in China now for 14 years. We started off in 2001, selling 226 cars. Last year, we did more than 27,000 units. With the economic recovery of the United States, we saw a tremendous comeback of the entire economy and also for the car industry. We took advantage of that as well in handling new segments like the Macan and in bringing more varieties in our already existing cars, so it gave us the opportunity to grow in America as well. AB: In terms of the portfolio, and speaking of Macan, are there other segments that Porsche will be expanding? Are any segments off limits? BM: We do have the number of ideas I can tell you, but we are not decided on what level [and] we are not talking about them. Let's look at our current model line-up. I think it's the most interesting one we've ever had in the history of the company. We do have a lot of derivatives in the 911 model lineup, we do have some derivatives in the Boxster and Cayman segment. There are some new ideas, which, as I've mentioned already, have not been decided yet. AB: Right. Is there any potential that we'd see something from the group MQB platform?
