Here you have the opportunity to purchase at the end of this auction, or perhaps sooner if you make a high enough offer. Stunning black paint that appears to be all original with almost no flaws, only one insignificant one on the hood but no dings, scratches, or rock chips in the paint or glass. Why am I selling this wonderful driver's car? And why do I call it a driver's car? Its a drivers car by dint of how it was equipped from the factory with adaptive sport seating, sport chronometer plus, thicker three spoke sport steering wheel, nice, wide Techart or stock 19" wheels with sticky Bridgestone Potenza tires, wider than I think I have ever owned before. Get in it and drive, its both easy and challenging to drive with reward to the best of your abilities. That being said you don't have to drive it hard, its a rewarding car whether you drive it hard or just puddle along with traffic. Good air conditioning, large sunroof, electric windows all make it easy and fun to be in and drive. This is one investment you wont regret, trust me on that one. So why am I selling, and why after owning it nearly two years have I only put about 50 some miles on it? Well, its an age old story nobody wants to hear so I won't bore you with details other than to say a series of medical problems have prevented me from enjoying it the way I should have. Most of those have been resolved now, I do not have to sell it, I do not need the money nor the space but I simply want something different. Its time to move on to the next supercar, plus I should have purchased an open car, my first love. So now I am ready to move on to the next car to add to my stable. Not that I need any, I have around 15 vehicles and find it hard to give any one of them much time. So now I am determined to reduce my accumulation of cars and this one is first on the list since I want an open car. Who knows, I might even buy another Turbo but in Cabriolet form. Have one you want to trade? Have anything you want to trade let me know thru eBay messaging. Would consider an Aston Martin DB9 Volante or a Generation 3 Dodge Viper, both black or dark blue and convertibles. What do you have to trade? You know about the options, the car is equipped as one would order a real drivers car with options including a sport shifter, adaptive sport seats, 3 spoke multi function steering wheel in matching grey leather, 6 speed manual trans and sport chronometer package turbo plus. And that magnificent 480 horsepower turbo motor, responsive, strong and reliable. One of the best in any car on the planet and destined to stay that way. Porsche keeps upping the ante with more hp and more performance but this car is your last chance to own a manual transmission turbo motor 911. The new 991's are, as I understand it all automatic transmissions with no manual option available. Pity for those of us who like to row our cars around with the shifter. As mentioned, this car does have the sport shifter as well, another driver oriented option. You get your choice of either the lovely but rather common stock Porsche 19x8 and 11 alloys or a full set of the same size Techart black alloys with silver rims, the rears with a nice looking offset. Or for another two grand above the final selling price you can have both and the best part is they both have a good, usable set of super wide Bridgestone Potenza tires, the stock alloys having a shade more tread than the Techarts but they are all plenty usable with at least 70% tread by my estimate. I am not an expert on either Porsches or tires but have had lots of both and I can tell you with all truth this car is the best of the lot that have graced my garages. With only fifty miles on the clock in the last nearly two years since the Nov 2012 purchase the car has in effect had only two real owners, the two prior to myself and I have the mechanical invoices for work done by the second owner only. I believe I have all the books and tools as well with one factory key. Work was done by RAC Performance in Carrollton, TX, the only authorized RUF dealer in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. The 60k service has been done by them. I did have a Pre Purchase Inspection done by Autobahn Motorcar Group, a Porsche dealer in Fort Worth Texas by the manager Devin Tyler done at 61,505 miles showing "no problem areas" and the manager told me that in 6 years the car had only seen a slight over rev a measly 6 times but apparently he did not record that on his report. He said that's unheard of. The car is clean, fresh and ready to go. Take a look at the pics of the interior, it looks new doesn't it? I am so impressed by the quality of the leather and the care that has been taken to maintain this car that it is essentially a like new car. My own tastes seem to lean toward open cars, convertibles and I do love the Aston Martin DB9 Volante which may well be the replacement for this fine automobile. All this is in aid of selling my car which has a title clear and is totally free of encumbrances and is mine. I am not a mechanic, nor am I an expert on anything Porsche, just an enthusiast who has owned several but still I am not an expert at all. All of the descriptions in the auction are my opinion and mine alone. I can not verify anything other than the facts listed above, the car drives what to me is well and like new and I can see no problems with any of the systems or parts of the car. Come and see the car for yourself, I am located west of Fort Collins in the Foothills and will gladly arrange a viewing if you are local or want to make the trip, but do it before the auction ends, NOT AFTER. I bought the car sight unseen and have not regretted it in any way. It has cost me nothing to own other than the insurance and some minor improvements all of which are easily reversible. The carbon fiber rings around the headlites are held on with tape and are easily removed. The front valence under the grille is new and it replaced one that had seen better days by myself. I can at least do that sort of thing. I do not offer any sort of warranty or anything similar to a warranty for anything on the car, the facts presented are my impressions but are not those of an expert. Thus THE CAR CARRIES NOTHING LIKE A WARRANTY AND IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED OR EVEN HINTED AT, NONE!! The transport of the car is the sole responsibility of the buyer but I will do what I can to assist as long as it is understood that the transport is NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY! It is yours if you are the buyer of this fine automobile. I do have a friend who likes to take cars around the country on a single car trailer and if he is available he would be your absolute best option other than one of the expensive enclosed carriers like Reliable. He is honest, up front and reliable beyond reproach. I have no problem sending the car overseas either and will assist where I can having already sold cars to Germany, France, England, even Uruguay believe it or not! So lets remain friends and PLEASE do not bid if you are not prepared to pay and buy the car. If you were to be the high bidder but make some lame excuse like you bid drunk or by mistake I will be forced to employ any and all legal means to collect the winning bid. I cannot be swayed with excuses, real or imagined so lets do a good, clean uncomplicated transaction that sees the car paid for in three days as specified in the auction and you can keep it here as long as need be until it can be transported or you can come and get it yourself. Its well worth the asking price, I don't believe you will find a better one for any price. No wait, that makes no sense, pay more get more, that's the American way after all, right? This is however an excellent value and I don't believe you would regret the purchase at all. |

'Latest production version' of Porsche 918 shown off on Twitter
Fri, 16 Aug 2013Porsche posted a picture of what it is calling "the latest production version" of the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder on Twitter. It looks like the gasoline-hybrid supercar is being driven sportively on some California back roads during Monterey Speed Week.
Whatever updates were made to this version aren't visual (except for the paint), as the one Chris Harris drove last spring and another seen hot-weather testing in Nevada both had production bodies. We presume the changes are relatively minor and more than skin deep - perhaps brake calibration, suspension tuning or tweaks to the powertrain - but Porsche didn't release any more information.
The 918 Spyder is Porsche's latest supercar, which will compete with the LaFerrari and the McLaren P1 hybrid supercars. The Porsche may be the underdog of the group when considering horsepower, acceleration, top speed and price, but the 887-horsepower brute has the most advanced hybrid drivetrain of the three.
Porsche continues facelift spree with 911 Turbo
Fri, 24 Jan 2014If there's ever been automotive case for constant evolution, it is the Porsche 911. It seems like every time a new version of the rear-engined sports car debuts, Porsche is already hard at work on a facelifted version of it that changes some subtle, barely noticeable aspect.
Such is the case with this round of images of a facelifted 911 Turbo, which was seen undergoing winter testing alongside the facelifted, hardtop-version of the 911 Cabriolet we showed you yesterday. The new, 991-based 911 Turbo was just unveiled in May of 2013.
Like the Cabrio from yesterday, both the Turbo and naturally aspirated models shown here feature additional slats at the rear of the car, right behind the rear wheels. These slats on the standard model lend credence to what we learned yesterday - that even the regular 911 models could end up getting turbocharged mills.
Supercar 'Holy Trinity' raced at the track, drag strip, and to 186 mph
Thu, Dec 3 2015There was a time when we weren't sure if we'd ever get the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 Spyder on the track together. Now, we've have a multi-part series dissecting how each supercar approaches all kinds of go-fast tasks. Supercar Driver (SCD) looks at their performances around the track, on the drag strip, and on a runway. SCD didn't get any help from the automakers, it used three cars all owned by one British gentleman, Paul Bailey. The first video has British Touring Car Championship driver Mat Jackson running all three around Silverstone. The second video takes the coupes to Santa Pod Raceway to run the quarter-mile. The third video runs them out to Bruntingthorpe Airfield for a drag race to 300 kilometers per hour (186 mph). We found that latter video especially interesting because SCD shows a graph of how fast each car hit speed marks, and it's interesting to see where the winner made up all of its time and the where the third-place getter lost its time. Nota bene, the McLaren is using its fly-paper sticky Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires. You'll find the first video in the series above, the second two videos below. If you still haven't had enough, then check out the Hyper 5 three-part series by Alejandro Solomon filmed at California's Thermal Raceway, starting with the Holy Trinity and adding the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and Pagani Huayra. Chris Harris also did fantastic work around Portimao with the help of Marino Franchitti and Tiff Needell, with assistance from the factories. This content is hosted by a third party.
