This is a very special Porsche. This Targa is a very unique 2002 Arctic Silver Porsche 911 Carrera Targa with only
13,000 miles.
This Targa came with the factory Technic Package and has been very tastefully customized with body and mechanical
parts to replicate a 2002-2004 996 GT3. This was done with a Jacquemond Aero Body Kit and GT3 rear wing, upgraded
red powder coated calipers and H&R Sport lowering springs with proper upper strut mount kit. The only thing that is
missing is the GT3 wheels. The body kit was installed by Mirror Finish in Oklahoma City who specialize in Porsche and BMW.
The workmanship on the install is excellent and the quality of the body kit is so high that it looks completely OEM
and the paint is a perfect 100% match. This car handles better than my stock 911 Cabriolet and actually has a
smoother more compliant ride, even with the lowering. In addition it has an Evolution Motorsports INTK996 Induction
System and Stage 1 Computer Tune done by Bob Dumont, Porsche Only Service also in Oklahoma City.
The Targa also has a custom audio system that was done without any modifications to the dash with an Alpine AM/FM,
MP3, SiriusXM Satellite and JL Audio 4 channel Full Range Amp and JL 6.5” 3-way speaker system with a JL 10”
Subwoofer. You can see the subwoofer install in the pictures. It looks like it was done at the factory, just
beautiful.

At 11,400 miles I had the IMS BEARING UPGRADED to the TuneRS Centers for Porsche DOF (direct oil feed) bearing. It
was more expensive than others but to me, offers the absolute best engineering of all.

Chris Harris gets filthy in a WRC-ready Porsche 911 RGT

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Last time we rode with Chris Harris we were shotgun in the tan leather seat of his used-yet-immaculate Ferrari FF. This time we're strapped into a black racing bucket of a filthy Porsche 911 rally car, one that led Harris to effuse, "I don't think I've driven a more exciting car this year, hypercars included." The thrills come courtesy of a 997-series Cup Car that's been reworked by Tuthill Porsche to run in the RGT-class rally series that will piggyback on five World Rally Championship and European Rally Championship races this year. It's not quite the Rothmans Dakar monster, but the RGT series gives privateers an affordable way into rallying with cars that look different and are different from one another. This one kept its 3.8-liter, 444-horsepower 997 Cup engine, but the 39-milllimeter restrictor drops that to about 350 hp. Beyond that are a new rollcage, gear ratios, suspension, fuel tank, underfloor protection and just about everything else. Said the man who built it, it cost "a lot, and it's still costing." But Harris says even though you "have to have your wits about you," it's a hoot to drive. And this is one of the few times you'll hear the phrase "What a tool!" used as a compliment. Check it out in the video above. News Source: Chris Harris on Cars via YouTube Motorsports Porsche Coupe Off-Road Vehicles Racing Vehicles Performance Videos fia rally WRC chris harris porsche 997

Porsche calls in The Committee for Boxster and Cayman GTS

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

Porsche is set to offer up the very first GTS variants of its more affordable Boxster convertibles and Cayman coupes. This is very good news for enthusiasts. Aside from our original post announcing the hotted up models, though, Porsche hasn't given us much to go on.
And you know what? This video isn't much of help either. It's called The Committee, and we're guessing it's meant to highlight the lengths that Porsche went to in designing what are essentially sportier trim levels for its two most affordable entries. Still, it's a stylized and entertaining video with a few entertaining driving scenes scattered throughout, and it gives just a small glimpse of Porsche's view of the vaunted GTS badge.
Take a look below for the full video.

2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS proves performance is relative

Thu, Nov 20 2014

The Turbo may be the most powerful model in the Cayenne range, but the GTS is arguably the enthusiast's choice. (In so far as a 4,500-pound crossover can be considered an "enthusiast's choice," anyway.) And now, after refreshing the rest of the Cayenne lineup, Porsche has revealed the new Cayenne GTS, alongside its new 911 GTS stablemate, here at the LA Auto Show. Like the new Cayenne S, the new GTS drops the previous version's atmospheric V8 for a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6, but ups the output to 440 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque to propel Zuffenhausen's portliest to 62 in a scant 5.2 seconds. Alongside the power upgrade, the GTS gets a lowered air suspension and sportier exhaust, the beefier brakes from the Cayenne Turbo and an upgraded aero kit to help with the whole barn-door-profile thing. Just don't expect all that extra kit and the prestige of a Porsche badge on your crossover to come cheap, with prices starting at $95,500 (plus $995 destination).
