This is a great opportunity to get into a nice well sorted porsche 996.With 993 prices so high these days, you are hard pressed to get the bang for buck a 996 delivers.I am a 20 year porsche tech and shop owner and this is my personal car.I purchased it from another porsche tech shop owner. He bought it from one of his clients after a minor incident with a guard rail. The owner drove under it damaging the right front fender, hood and bumper.I normally dont buy salvage title vehicles, but after seeing this car I had no worries about the damage. The previous shop owner bought it from the insurance company without hesitation because the owner had just put $17000 dollars into the engine, suspension, upgrades, etc. This includes a top end rebuild, new heads, hoses, starter, wiring harness, alternator, coolant tank, oil separator, heater hoses, rear main seal,IMS retrofit bearing upgrade, light flywheel, ecu upgrade, factory muffler bypass(sounds amazing)Short shift kit,Full bilstein pss9 coilover suspension,997 18" sport wheels, michelin pilot sports(65%) brakes are 85%,rear wing, light window tint, grey leather interior, power heated seats, white gauges, factory litronic headlights. The car now has 150k miles and all the work was done @ 136k so this porsche has a lot of life left.It drives super straight, rattle free, handles the curves like a porsche should, synthetic fluids used in engine, gearbox, etc.I have reciepts for all the work done. The previous owner was able to source a used hood, fender, and bumper from another car the same color!! so no paint or body work was needed other than a little inner fender well straightening(see picture) The paint and body are in great shape, not one dent or ding(typical front bumper rock chips)This is an honest well sorted 996 and only selling to purchase another collector car.I guarrantee the new owner will be very happy with this car,You can fly out and drive home!! If you have any questions feel free to call me (650) 796 1213, check my feedback I take it very seriously, please be a serious buyer with the funds to puchase this great example of porsches finest. The only issues right now is the turn signal doesnt cancel and the right window regulator is noisy, other than those two things this porsche is ready to drive and would be a great track car as well.Title in hand and currently registered till dec 2014.Located in the bay area california.
thanks for looking, this is a NO RESERVE auction and is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally! |

Porsche ready to pick itself up after Le Mans failure
Mon, 23 Jun 2014It's safe to say that things for Porsche didn't go quite as well at Le Mans this year as it might have hoped. After a sixteen-year gap, the winningest manufacturer in endurance racing history returned to the Circuit de la Sarthe this year hoping maybe not for outright victory in its first time back, but definitely a strong finish on which it could build on for next year. All the while it undoubtedly hoped its 911s would hold their own in the GT classes.
Unfortunately for Porsche, neither happened. After racing around the clock, and despite actually leading the festivities for some time, the best its 919 Hybrid could manage was an eleventh-place finish, lagging lamentably behind not only the other LMP1s (like the race-winning Audi) but also a handful of LMP2s. Meanwhile the LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am titles went to the factory-backed teams of its arch-rivals Ferrari and Aston Martin, respectively.
Not a stellar result, in other words, but Porsche is taking it all in stride - accepting that it has a ways to go while congratulating its vanquishing rivals in the video below. It's good sportsmanship if we've ever seen it. Next year's race starts now.
Winterkorn steps down as CEO of Porsche SE
Mon, Oct 19 2015Martin Winterkorn's departure from all things related to the Volkswagen Group is nearing completion. After having stepped down as chairman of the automaker's executive board nearly a month ago in the wake of the automaker's diesel emissions scandal, he's now leaving the direction of the company's principal shareholder, as well. After VW acquired Porsche (the automaker) several years ago, and in turn was principally acquired by Porsche (the holding company), the latter installed Winterkorn as its chief executive officer in order to cement ties between the parties. He's served as chairman of the executive board (German-speak for CEO) at Porsche Automobil Holding SE ever since, but he's now officially resigned from that position. In his place, the holding company has named Hans Dieter Potsch as its new chief exec. Potsch was also recently named as chairman of the supervisory board of the Volkswagen Group, having served until now as CFO of both VW AG and of Porsche SE. Winterkorn's principal successor at the helm of daily operations at VW is Matthias Muller, formerly CEO of the Porsche auto brand and now CEO of the entire VW group. The development brings Winterkorn's exit closer to completion. However the departing executive still, for the time being, remains at the head of group divisions Audi, Scania, and Truck & Bus GmbH. We don't expect it will be much longer, however, before he formally resigns from those chairmanships as well. October 2015. Porsche Automobil Holding SE, Stuttgart ("Porsche SE"), reached an agreement with Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn that he ceases his function as member and chairman of the executive board of Porsche SE by the end of October 31, 2015. Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, chairman of the supervisory board of Porsche SE, thanked Prof. Dr. Winterkorn for the successful work in previous years: "Prof. Dr. Winterkorn assumed office as chairman of the executive board of Porsche SE in a difficult situation. He played a significant role in transforming our company into a highly professional investment holding. I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of the entire supervisory board." Hans Dieter Potsch, chief financial officer of Porsche SE, was appointed by the supervisory board to succeed Prof. Dr.
